Do you mean you had a £9 bill when you got back,If so it wasn't free.Are you on the £9 a month deal.I know you can use the phone in Eu at a cost of course.Anyway couple of weeks and the new rule comes in.

hi mate I just come back from Spain and I used mine out there I've been with three for years it worked for me and I got a cap at 9 so they could just charge me lol it was fine I've just checked my bill and £ 9 .. just thought I'd post it incase it helps anyone who is paying stupid costs ect .

I cancelled my sim only contract with Virgin Mobile 2 weeks a go and got my PAC code. On the phone they wouldn't even try to offer me anyway! I have been on chat twice now and all they quote are the prices on the website. I decided to go for the £9 deal but they gave me a link to purchase it and want me to get a new number and transfer my current one to this once I get it, which means phoning them. I gave up and finished the chat session.
Do they have any english call centres still? I've chatted to them in the past but all I seem to get now are Indian ones and I can barely understand them.

If you're here, be advise, if you're current customer , for any or both Media and Mobile, don't even bother chatting. They wont give it, its for their Quad play. For new Media customers with no Mobile yet.
They have three deals for SIM only, all for 12 months, if you know your way through the website, you will know it, because its there!
You'll get frustrated because, its abit not fair but it is what it is.

Yes my manager is stating that HUKD isn't always 100% correct information, sometimes there is some miscommunication with the deals on that site. In this instance, whilst this deal is available to all customers, it's what is called a 'Quad Play' deal which means that it is in conjunction with purchasing our home services. Sorry for any confusion

As usual it seems you get a different story depending on who you speak to. I've been told that offer of the 4gb for £8 is for new customers signing up to a bundle with the TV/BB etc

No free using abroad with the £9 deal.Not till june 15th anyway.My son got caught out thinking the £9 deal was free abroad and ended up with a big bill.

I had to go through few departments. initially selected option looking to leave who then put me through to sales. sales team said only for new connections. asked to speak to a manager as thought this unfair to treat loyal customers different. put me through to loyalty/ customer relations who did it straight away
I was on 3g now 4g, new SIM in post.

I think you would have to but not necessarily change your number. You also might have to wait until your current contact runs out. Have a chat with Virgin and see what they can sort out.
