Would it be useful in a dishwasher softener?

pour 10 litres of vegetable oil around the base & bob's your uncle
please don't do this if it's illegal in your country

At this price, it's worth using for weed suppression on gravel paths and block paving.

With the British weather you could need this any month of the year...

Deicing salt in Britain? What is the point? I haven't seen ice or snow on the roads for years now.

Let me guess you live in the south of the country?
Pretty much anywhere from the peak district and up has had at least a few days of snow with gritters on the roads more times then it's worth counting this year.
Nothing compared to what it we have had in the past, but definitely conditions which would justify using de-icing salt.

Temperatures in the mid twenties for the last two days here - but great deal. Maybe to stock up for the next few winters, but I'll get it to try sorting out patio weeds.
No ice on the roads because the gritter lorries have been out putting deicing salt on them in the winter.

Powerwash your block paving... dust with salt gently water in...no moss or weeds for at least 3mths...sorted
you should always keep away from grass and plants...............................it can be illegal :sunglasses:
