Managed to get the last white one on the shelve from Bishop Auckland on Monday. Went in on Wednesday and the price had been put down further to £17 for the 1tb but had no stock. Also called in on Friday and they had another 1tb white one on the shelve but SEL said £40 and when checking at customer service also scanned at £40 so price seems to have gone back up.

Can these be put into a ps4? I bought one of the 2tb recertified drives from WD but would rather send that back if possible and get this instead.

I'm always sceptical of these so-called 'recertified' Hard Drives things? (Portable, or otherwise?). :-(
Hard Drives have toooooo MANY internal moving parts for my liking?, so new is always preferable? (that's the way I see it anyway, lol). :-)
But, that's just me ...

Anyone know if these are Windows 10 compatible? It only mentions Windows 7 and 8 on the box.

Yeah all the software worked fine on my win 10 laptop

It doesn't matter what it say's on the Box.
DOS 6.22 (32BIT) Supported up to 2TB.
And from Windows ME (Millenium)/Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 (going), Supported USB 2.0 also ...
So Windows 7/Windows 8 is a minor. :-)
It's Windows 7/Windows 8 prefix mentioned, is more as an indicator/rough idea of the timeline age of the Portable Hard Drive instead? (that's it really ... ) give or take, it'll have been Manufactured about 3-4 years ago, or something?. :-)
But Windows 10 will easily see it anyway? (I have an 'older' Portable Seagate 500GB Hard Drive I use, amongst 2TB one's as well, and the Windows 10 Laptop see's allllll same way).
So you good to go. :-)

wish it was online too.
the online hard drive prices are really outdated and poor value for money there is no price drop despite the whole hard disk technology slowly becoming obsolete.

Just called. They have 1 white and 2 silver.
I've just reserved one of each so I can see which color I prefer. On the way there, now.
Thank you!

I got two from the Lancaster branch this morning. One white and one black.
There were definately around four silver coloured ones left on the shelf and a store worker said there maybe more in the back.
There was an empty bay where the 3TB drives should've been with a SEL covered with a 'sorry out of stock' notice.
Heat added earlier OP.

Just called the electrical section of Asda St. Matthews (WS1 1RS, I believe the one you're talking about) but the gentleman on the phone couldn't see it (or a £29 hard drive) on the shelves.

I just picked one of the 1TB ones up in Asda Gloucester (Bruton Way) and there was one left on the shelf. I scanned one of the desktop 3TB ones but it came up at £99 so I left it behind.

Why are online prices so awful? Peak online shopping it seems. We going back in time, retail will make a comeback this way.
