New customers switching to TSB's Classic Plus now get £130 to switch to it.
Plus, there's also up to £10/mth free cash to be claimed.
It pays out £5 every month you have two or more direct debits paid out, and another £5/mth if you use your debit card at least 20 times in that month, until 30 June 2018.

As an extra bonus, you also get 3% AER variable on the first £1,500 in your account. All these perks mean you could earn almost £300 if you switch and keep the account for a year.

Need-to-knows
- To get the switching bonus, apply by Mon 26 Jun and fully switch to it including 2+ active direct debits (what counts as active?) using TSB's switching service by Fri 14 Jul (DD's must still be active for at least 28 days after the switch completes). You also need to pay in £500+ in the first 28 days from switching.
- You need to allow cookies in your browser else the £130 switching offer mightn't track.
- You won't get the bonus if you've ever got a switching bonus from TSB before or if you currently hold a Classic Plus account in your sole name.
- The bonus is paid to your account within 28 working days of the switch completing as long as you've met the terms above. If you have any issues with your switch, call TSB's Switcher Team on 0345 835 7838.
- The 20 transactions need to be made within a calendar month – the date of transaction will be when the money's taken from your account, which could be a couple of days after you spend. Online, contactless and Apple and Android Pay transactions count, but ATM withdrawals don't.
- The direct debits need to go out within the calendar month (so watch out for bank holidays & weekends), and need to be paid to different companies. You need to be registered for internet banking for this cashback.
- You'll need to pay in £500/mth, register for internet banking (and log in at least once a year) & opt for paperless statements & correspondence to get the interest.
- If you have more than one account, you can get the cashback on both, provided you meet the criteria on each account, but you can only get one switching bonus.
- This account has a linked 2% regular saver, though this can be beaten by other regular saver accounts.
- TSB has the full £85,000 UK savings safety guarantee.

For those wanting free DD's the best options are a Post Office savings account, and a Scottish Widows saving account.

Dayam, I wasn't aware of this "It pays out £5 every month you have two or more direct debits paid out"
Is this also available for existing customers on the Classic Plus?
vassy4u

Not sure if it applies to existing customers. I switched to TSB when it was posted last time. They never had this £5 monthly bonus for just having two direct debits. :disappointed:

Can you still get the £130 bonus if you don't have any direct debits set up?
By switching from Halifax to tsb?

Yes Amir you will still get. If I were you I would have a min 2 direct debits to get the fiver every month.

I switched to them in Feb this year. Got the £125 they were offering then. Just yesterday my switch from them to Nationwide was completed. Was going to stay, but was tempted away by the 5% regular saver. Money talks, loyalty doesn't. Not been asked to repay and I did search t&c's beforehand.

I switched to them the other month, or so I thought. Turns out it's hidden somewhere in the T+C's that you have to go into branch to complete the switch. Don't get caught out by this BS as I got nothing out of it.

I'm an existing customer! I've had my interest rate cut from the 5% to 3% and i gather this is to attract new customers only! Time to change just like mobiles and broadband if you stay they screw you for new customers only! Does active mean the direct debit has to have paid out before?
derp1664
16 May 17 1 #45
"An active direct debit is one that has paid out in the last 13 months, or – if it has never paid out – is less than 13 months old.

Direct debits have this dormancy rule in place, so old direct debits can remain active even if you're not paying out on them every month in case they're needed again, or they're there for annual payments. But, after 13 months, your bank may remove them from your account, or mark them as inactive."

- £125 switch incentives

Spoke to Fion the TSB Pion earlier regarding existing customers.

She spoke to her manager as she was clueless, and the bottom line is:
1) No £5 for adding 2x dd's for existing customers
2) You can get it, but means you have to close the account and open a new one
3) For those that bags several of these accounts Pre-March, they won't convert any to these to a new Post March version, you have to close all of them to start afresh at 1 each and 1 joint acc.

In other words, existing customers mean nothing to these TCB clowns.

So the first step is to open the account with them and then do the switch. That seems logical. However, I am not 100% sure how it's going to work after the account is opened. It's clear that to be eligible for cashback one needs to apply for a new account by following a specific link and enabling cookies. After a new account is opened with them do I also need to follow a specific link to switch an account or do I switch directly from a TSB web site? Cheers.

Lol I called twice and was told that I can't close my account then open a new one because I "would still be on their system"... but that made no sense and it sounded like the person had no idea what they were talking about so I called back again.. second one was more helpful and said that i could open a second account then go into branch and make it a joint account with someone else and then I would be eligible for the bonus.
And by the sounds of it they told you something completely different so that's 3 different answers from 3 different people!

Think I'll just close it and reapply.. see what happens

So do you have accounts elsewhere that you can switch in to TSB? That's how you get the pay out. If not, then look at switching your accounts away to somewhere else. There are other banks that give payouts. You could switch one to Nationwide and although no bonus, if you recommended you partner they would get £100 and so would you. You could also refer 4 others for another £400. Look around. Plenty out there for all!

yes. i pretty much exhausted all switching offers apart from tsb and hsbc. but it didn't answer my question though
holeymoley18
17 May 17 #88
Well if you've done loads you should know the answer or at least how to look it up yourself. A switching bonus is paid if you switch an account and usually haven't had a payout before. Its not a close your account and open it again bonus. Does that answer your question?

17 May 17 #94
What do you mean? I'm not sure I follow as it clearly says here:
———
"£130 for switching – Apply for a Classic Plus account by 26 June 2017 and complete your switch to us using the Current Account Switch Service before 14 July 2017. Pay in at least £500 into your new account within 28 days of the switch. Transfer all active credits and debits, which must include at least 2 active Direct Debits as part of your switch. The Direct Debits must still be registered at least 28 days after the switch completes.
To receive the £130 payment you must allow cookies before selecting "Apply for a Classic Plus account".
———
From what I can see there is no direct link to get the switch done in one go. And if I go and start switching process it asks for a TSB current account details.

I've switched to HSBC, Halifax, Nationwide, Santander, and TSB within the last year- TSB has by far the quickest and easiest switching process; none of this messing around signing letters and sending them back (HSBC) or visiting your branch (Nationwide) business.

Only thing I'd say is that there are 2 apps- an old one and a new one. The new one is rubbish (e.g. when paying a payee you can't see the reference so if you've got more than one account for that payee you can't tell which is which); get the old one which is great.

No complaints from me about TSB - the only issue is that all these incentives dry up after your first year (except a now very limited amount of interest). As long as you're not determined to stay with them forever, I'd wholeheartedly recommend.

In relation to existing customers and the account-related cashback benefits (not the switching cashback - the terms for that are separate) the terms and conditions are very clear (so its strange the staff on the phone don't know them!)

The term that rules existing Classic Plus customers out is:
"Term 1.2: You must not have had a Classic Plus account with TSB before 1 March 2017."
Under the terms and conditions, closing and reopening a Classic Plus account wouldn't work (that said, bank systems aren't always up to the task of applying the terms and conditions as explicitly stated!).

same here.. doesn't give option to switch at same time as applying and the link this page sends you to, states on first page:

"To qualify for £130, you must first complete the account application and then the separate online switching form. "

Like I said 85k would be covered but comparing closing down of TSB to HSBC and Natwest is irrelevant . yes Online banking has taken over but TSB only came back on the high street 4 -5 years ago after splitting with Lloyds bearing in mind they were once successful . My point was rushing to open branches and equally closing them down at the same speed is not good management.
On top of all this, it is a good way to make money out of these banks for the first year especially when ISA interest rates are so low.

i'd love to get this and switch but my credit rating is too bad ..
karlie88
17 May 17 1 #128
Applying for a current account shouldn't have a negative impact - just make sure you don't apply for an overdraft. You're not applying for 'credit' with a current account, so your credit rating has no impact on whether your application is successful. As long as you're on the electoral register and all your basic details match (name, address, DOB etc.) then you should get accepted.

To improve your credit score, get a credit card for low credit scorers (Aqua, MBNA etc.), pay it off in full each month - i.e. if you would have bought something for £20 with a debit card, then pay using your credit card and put the £20 'aside' in your current account.

You should notice an improvement in your credit score within 6 months if you do it right.

what hassle? It's four minutes to do one form and one minute to do another. Then another couple of minutes to set-up online banking. All your direct debits and standing orders are transferred over.

That's a few minutes tapping on a keyboard for £130 as a minimum and maybe £300 in total depending on what you do with the account.

Are there any issues in terms of credit rating etc of closing a long term current account for this incentive? I'm sure I've had applications for credit products that have asked how long I've been with my current bank and always wondered if the length had a positive impact or not.

Paying a friend/family member 5p via paypal ? , just add your bank account to your paypal wallet and select that account to make payment. takes a few days to setup , requires a verification code which paypal send to your bank and is located on your internet banking (under pending transactions) , this is pretty instant in most cases.
Hope this helps.
Alternatively consider opening a Tesco Internet Saver and you can pay yourself £1 a month , this will take 3-4 weeks before first payment goes out though , probably just in time to get it setup for payments going out mid June.

Opened a new account with TSB, got an e-mail a few hours later with a new account details and did the switch using the switch tool on their web site. Should be finalised on the 25th. Can someone just clarify what "3% AER interest paid monthly on balances up to £1,500" means? (Sorry)

Is the consensus to set up two Direct Debits with charities?
Sparkz2k16
17 May 17 #175
They pay 3% interest per year of a maximum balance of £1500... You can have more in your bank but interest is only accumulated on £1500.

So, lets say you had £1000 in the account. That would mean £30 a year interest (or £2.50 interest paid into your account each month)

You would still also get £5 a month for 2 active direct debits

Transfer all active credits and debits which must include a minimum of 2 active Direct Debits from your old account and close it.

If you already have any direct debits on your present account just leave it. Everything will grt transferred to the tsb account. That's how switching works. Fill the form they compete the switch in 7 days.
If the 2 direct debits are done before switch you are on much better state. Safer.. you can ring tsb to know should money be taken (dd) or can it be after the switch.

Whilst I agree that we could have 2 accounts in sole name & 5% (net interest back then) on up to £2000 however cashback on contactless payments was "up to £5" not £5 (for me anyway) and when I took out the accounts TSB hadn't started paying out £125 cashback so I missed out on that. Its debateble whom is/was getting the better deal however I've decided to switch as I thought new customers were getting a better deal i.e. £5 + £5 cashback & 3%gross interest.

Previous hassle included their transfer team mistyping my mortgage account number so missed a payment, then trying to explain to Halifax it was them not me... Wasn't supposed to be a hassle then either.

There's 2 conflicting pieces of information on the TSB website.

"Pay in at least £500 into your new account within 28 days of the switch." and "Must pay in minimum of £500 a month"

The first one sounds like a one off of £500, but the second one sounds like a monthly input of £500. Does any one which one it is?
vassy1
19 May 17 #227
Previously when i switched there was this criteria of having £500 min pay in within 28 days. Nothing more
qalih
19 May 17 #228
I reckon the pay at least £500 is for the £130 to be guarenteed. And the 500 monthly, as I found out today from HSBC, is a requirement by the banks nowadays it seems. The bank staff member said it was a requirement in order to have the account active. I hadnt used mine for many months with only few pounds and the status was changed from active to dormant. I think the 'requirement' to have £500 input every month is more of a heavy recommendation than a true requirement.
kutekitty
19 May 17 #229
Bah... Just called them. As an existing customer if I wanted to get the £5 cash back for the direct debits, I would have to go into a branch close my account and open a new one. And even then it's down to the discretion of the branch. My branch is miles away.

I know they probably have a reason for not letting existing customers get the offer, but it's something to grumble about!

Thanks, I'd completely forgotten about the Scottish Widows option. I usually use 2x Tesco Online savers to create DDs on my Current Accounts, but this TSB one seems to specifically state DDs from two separate companies in order to qualify for the £5/Month cashback, so I'll open either PO or Scottish Widows to use alongside Tesco.... Do both PO and Scottish Widows allow you to schedule regular deposits?

My two DD's from them come out monthly, make sure you double check though as things could change!
jnm21
20 May 17 1 #235
With regards to the switch, yes all done by TSB. Regarding notifying employer, you shouldn't; your employer will send your next payment to the old details, but this will automatically redirect to the new & your employer will get a notification from BACS in the form of an AWACS report. According to the terms of BACS they must take action within days (3 working days).

I would suggest you check though; payslip (though bank details rarely printed there now), online self service portal (if available) or failing those ask in about 6 months.

Anyone know what happens after 36 months if changes not made? Payments start to bounce?
jnm21
20 May 17 1 #236
Setting aside interest, £5 per month for 12 months plus £130 = £190. £3 per month for 63 months = £189; move to TSB & you should be comfortably better off for over 5.25 years! Surely 1 change every 5 years is ok?
vassy1
20 May 17 #237
Why would you leave it for 36 months?
jnm21
20 May 17 #238
Average Joe (who isn't a payroll & BACS person of 15 years) sees money appear in new account & thinks ahh change done, forgets all about it!

BACS send out some toothy emails about AWACS not being handled, but I have seen 1 suggestion that some folk are over a year into their redirection; hence I researched how long the guarantee lasts!
vassy1
20 May 17 #239
For 3 years they ll make sure money is being transferred from the account you switched to TSB. The person/ employer who pays you would be notified about the closure of account. So they would contact you for new bank details if not in some point of time you need to inform them.
jnm21
20 May 17 #240
Another couple I use are NSPCC lottery (charitable, chance to win & even came with minimal TCB cashback) & ratesetter (half decent interest though capital at risk with £10 minimum).
jnm21
20 May 17 #241
I'm keen to see what happens in month 37, but don't want to be the one who's money tests it!!!

I think BACS should publish figures by year: AWACS items issued/resolved within 5 weeks/6 months/12 months/outstanding - would show the rise in popularity & give an idea if there is an issue with non-compliance.

will this move my mortgage too?...
vassy1
20 May 17 #243
Dont think so.. I haven't switched Mortgage account before
jnm21
20 May 17 #244
Certainly not & you need to check very carefully if HSBC current account is a requirement of the mortgage. It will be if the saver account is a regular saver.

If prepared to move it all, check out Santander; both 123 (£5/mth) & the lite version (£1/mth) give 1% cashback on Santander mortgage payments up to a certain amount (£10 cashback per month I think).

For the complete switch to happen it takes a week with most banks. TSB will give you a date by which the switch would be competed. Till then you can use your RBS one
tom_g
21 May 17 #254
one more question....I have an ISA with RBS and a current account, and another savings account...I just want to move my current account - I assume this will not impact anything else I have with RBS?
jnm21
21 May 17 #255
You need to check with RBS - most regular saver accounts are conditional on having a current account - any account or mortgage can be - no option but to check the T&Cs.
jnm21
21 May 17 1 #256
Not sure if you mean you have a joint TSB, so can she move her non-joint, non-TSB account - I think that would be OK:If you mean can she open her 1st non-joint account, then no. Finally you can move a joint account and qualify, but it is more complicated (open in 1 name, visit branch to make it joint then switch).

Thanks, I'm not actually bothered about the regular saver as I haven't used it for years, just the ISA.

so I'm with Halifax atm and only pay my mobile bill every month..

I've already filled in the switch over application to TSB and got my card everything.. switch over will happen on 25th..

my question is.. can I just add another DD once my switch over is done? or does it have to be before switch over.. like I can just set up a charity DD right now

You may not get the £130 if you wait.

So I'm ready to make the switch from Barclays, the only thing I'm uncertain of is overdraft. I currently have a £500 overdraft with Barclays and they charge me a (fairly reasonable) 75p for each day I am in the overdraft. Are TSB's rates comparable?
jnm21
21 May 17 #261
Not sure about rates, but also bear in mind that there's no guarantee you'll get an overdraft the same size approved. That said £500 is quite reasonable. Then again, 75p isn't much, but on £500 it is, if my maths isn't off, over 50% APR. A more likely example would be use £100 & you are over 250% APR. Short term finance isn't cheap - have to wonder if borrowing £500 over 3 years would be cheaper - may try to work that one out later.

To think I thought 9.9% APR was high back when I used my overdraft heavily!

When do you apply for the switch service after applying to open the account? Nothing mentioned after opening the account using the MSE link and no specific link given to switch anything. Do you just use the normal switch button on their regular site or should you wait until they send you something? Do you have to use a special link for the switch like some people have been told? I was given an account number and sort code straight away so am assuming I can do the switch right now, but then noticed it says you have to provide ID in a branch before the account is open(?).
qwerty93
21 May 17 #263

Usually they wouldn't ask for a id verification unless something wasn't clear when filling the new account opening form. Once you submit it or visit the branch they would send you info for switching. You have time till 30th June.

Does the money you switch over from your old current account count towards the £500 that needs to be paid in within the first 28 days? For instance, if my existing current account with Barclays has £2k in it and I switch that account over to TSB, does that count as my £500 having been paid in within the first 28 days or does it have to be a different payment?
TygerrTygerr
22 May 17 #269
I believe that for any requirement with any bank about money going in, you can simply move that amount out then back in again. After all, it's not the "same money" in any meaningful sense, they just see numbers going up or down.

So I'd be surprised if you couldn't switch the whole £2k, then do that, if you don't have two accounts. Or withdraw £500 in cash, switch £1500, then add the £500 again.

Hi my nationwide 5% account is coming to an end on the June the 22nd, is it possible to switch my nationwide account to this TSB account and then re open another Nationwide at 5%?

Has anyone ever done this before? is there any rules that stop you from re opening a closed account with the same bank? I cant seem to find out any info on this and wondering if I can take advantage of the TSB switch then open another nationwide flex account after TSB have closed it.

Thanks.

vassy1
23 May 17 #287
Hi. When your switch takes over your present bank would inform your employer about the closure of account. But they wouldn't pass the new bank account details. Even if your employer pays into your old account you are covered for 36 months. Any money coming into that account gets redirected into your TSB account. I would recommend mentioning your employer about bank details change to avoid any delay with payments

24 May 17 #300
Friends..I am doing first time switch and applied for Donor account at Barclays and Natwest. Probably would get donor acct number on friday. I believe Barclays would be more quick and easy..
Please confirm my below understanding on this switch offer
1)opening TSB classic plus account online is first activity which needs to be done before 26 June and second separate activity is to do switch before 14 july. So these are two independent activities..
2) My new Donor account set up and starting 2 active debits would take 5-6 weeks . So Ideally I could make switch just before 14 July. Once I open new TSB account, any time limitation in which do I have to make switch? or do I have option to choose switch date? Would it be ok if I make online switch say on 12th July..Any precaution to make it successful switch and get 130£
3) 500 £ pay in requirement is just for one time within 28 days ..correct? and if I deposit cash of 500 £, it will considered as pay in ?
Please guide.
Thanks in advance

I applied last Friday, 19th, and on Thursday received my debit card, and on the Friday I received my pin number and my online activation code. From my co-op bank account I receive a letter stating that account would be closed down and transferred to TSB on 30th May. So everything is going smoothly. I took the extra step of getting my work to pay in my wages to my new account and they were showing as paid in when I activated my online account. I should be able to forget about my old account now. Remember to download statements from your old account if you need them, as you can not access them after the account is closed. And also do change Paypal details if this is your new main account as the account has to be linked to paypal for instant payments I believe, and you need to input the new card details as well. As for choosing a switching date, I do not remember getting the option to choose a date when I applied but the date they offered of 30th May suited me perfectly anyway.

It transfers your balance as long as you are in creit. If you have direct debits, or debit card payments going through the day or so after the transfer date money will be held back to pay them. If this means that you will be overdrawn as a result then the transfer may not go ahead.

All of you who are trying to setup direct debits last second - I'm pretty sure that's futile as they wouldn't be classed as 'active' direct debits.

Also - can someone confirm - how long after taking your ID into the bank did you get notified of the account being opened? What do you have to wait for before completing the switch forms online?

Just called them re a few questions about my switch. Was told that my new account was not on the "list" of those that had applied through Money Expert and would therefore not qualify for the £130. I told her tI had in fact applied using the correct link and she said I would be ok as she would add a note to my account and that I should call up when the switch is done to confirm. She also confirmed that the "active" DD only means set up in you old account, as my two were new with no money having left.

Master_Yoda
1 Jun 17 #323
Well during all previous times I switched with other banks, they definitely weren't accepted to be 'active' unless they were already in place prior to the switch and were clearly in use for payments prior to the switch - that's the whole point of calling it an "active" direct debit. This kind of thing is normally in the T&Cs. From what people are saying in this thread, that's apparently not the case here - I find that very odd, but anyway - they must know.

5 Jun 17 #334
I clicked on the MSE link yesterday afternoon because I will switch for the £130. I pressed the pop up to say allow cookies, went through the application, it said it will do a check and then said I was eligible for an overdraft but I declined. It then asked for a user name and password and then click continue. It then said "wait to be approved we will be in touch - no need to do anything etc." How can i ensure that if approved that the switch option will appear and how this is linked so that the £130 incentive gets recognised because the switch details were not given at the time of application. I'm assuming that because the application was filled in using the MSE link, that triggers the £130 to be applied once account is open succesfully? It seems a bit strange. I thought maybe because it was done on a Sunday it wasn't instant that the account was opened, but there's no point switching if the account is approved but then isn't linked to the application through MSE when completing the switch details for the £130 switching bonus.

Hi, I know you have answered a lot of questions on this, but I don't think this has been answered:

What does the June 30 reference, refer to please?

I've opened up an account today (was waiting for two direct debits to be set up on my donor account). These direct debits are due to make their first payments from my donor account on 5 and 7 July (I couldn't get them set up earlier than this).
If I schedule my switching to take place on 11 July would this work to qualify for the bonus?

Grateful for any feedback you can give

Yes that should work fine... 30th June is in theory the last day you could apply for the switch.
I'm intending to try a switch on the very last day (14th July) as the account I want to switch from Santander is needed until that date so I qualify for their Reg saver account. So I'm just hanging fire before I use the TSB form to request the switch, as they only let you choose a date up to three weeks ahead.

hgthompson
19 Jun 17 #356
They calculate the interest daily, but pay the interest monthly. So if you need to work it out exactly what you would do is work out on each day of the month what the balance was... then work out a day's worth of interest for each day (work out what 3% of the balance is, then divide by 365 to work out what a day of interest is), then total it all up and that's how they calculate the interest.

Just before some smart ar$e corrects me, the daily interest calculation used by most banks is actually to divide by 365.25 in order to allow for leap years - I work for a bank so know these sad facts!

I take your point that you work for a bank, but I'm still fairly sure you are wrong - it would be 1.03 (103%) to the power of (input into excel as a ^) 1/365. Your method, i.e. 3/365% per day would compound to a lot more than 3% per annum. Hmm wondering if the paid monthly changes things - we may both be off. Depends if day 1's interest earns interest from day 2 or day 1 of month 2... If the latter it would be ((1.03^(x/365))-1)/x each day where x is the days in the month.
Manny50

23 Jun 17 #382
I opened the account on the 16th of May and the switch date was the 25th of May.

Thanks,
Mines been credited today also.

Did you recieve anything in the post when you opened your accont about the £130 swithcing bonus?
GregK2

2nd trip to TSB and they accepted the statement sent via mail from Natwest...personally don't see what the difference is between them but oh well, just waiting for my DD's to activate and get taken out on the 30th from my donor account and I'll be ready to switch.
voodoo85
25 Jun 17 #388
So almost exactly the 28 days. Oh well, my switch went through on 7th June so hopefully by around 5th July i'll get mine
slaha11
25 Jun 17 #389
will Paypal DD be accepted?
C18ANT
26 Jun 17 #390
I've just done it today, HOPING that the cutoff is 23:59 26/06 instead of 23:59 25/06!!
Meant to do it weeks ago after my girlfriend did it but it kept telling me the session timed out or an unexpected error occurred.
species125
26 Jun 17 #391
From the website:

"£130 cashback when you apply for a Classic Plus account between 15 May and 26 June 2017 and complete your switch to us by 14 July 2017"

so you should be ok
Luciegoose
27 Jun 17 #392
Got my bonus through today

27 Jun 17 #393
I requested my switch a couple of days ago and left my mobile number in order to receive SMS updates on the progress.... but nothing yet... is this normal? I would have thought they would have at least confirmed I had requested the switch by now!
Mark5211
27 Jun 17 #394
No, it just happens on the day you chose.
LordKelly
27 Jun 17 #395
Applied yesterday. Just set up 2 direct debits in an old account hopefully they should be active in the next few days.

Is anyone going for the extra bonus of £10 pm as well? £5 would be easy with the 2 direct debits i've set up, but 20 transactions could be tricky unless i buy the paper everyday using it
voodoo85
27 Jun 17 #396
I did the same, requested SMS updates but never heard a thing. First official confirmation was actually a letter from my old bank saying sorry you're leaving kind of thing.

Switch went through fine but would have appreciated the updates as i ended up forgetting which date i had opted for etc
voodoo85
27 Jun 17 1 #397
That's one i've always used for switching (along with Tesco Savings account) and always worked fine. Just remember to make the direct debit active (by using it to pay for something or to send money to a friend) on the old account before the switch and then use it again after the switch (within 28 days)
donster
28 Jun 17 1 #398
I've just received my £130 as well. The switch date was Tue 30th May and 28 days later on Tue 27th June I have my bonus. Thanks again OP.

28 Jun 17 #399
got my £130 switch bonus today! :-)
It's came in early as well, my switch date was the 31st of May.

29 Jun 17 #401
Switched on the 1st Jun.... nothing so far...

Although it's 28 working days, will give it a bit longer, not sure how people have got it bang on 28 standard days
itsadeal
29 Jun 17 #402
Same here, I switched on 1st June.
I haven't had any interest or the £5 for direct debits paid in either.
johncas
29 Jun 17 #403
My switch is supposed to be going through tomorrow which is slightly awkward as I get paid from work tomorrow so could be fun depending on when my salary hits the bank and when the switch actually happens! (I know it is all guaranteed etc but it'll be interesting to see where it ends up!).

I did get an email from them "Thank you for signing up for your account via MSE' so that seems to have gone through OK anyway, quite a good online banking app too by the looks with access via Touch ID on your phone or a password on the computer without having to faff about with a stupid secure key!
Syrb
29 Jun 17 #404
DD's for my donor account set up and all of them had the money taken out, switch service says it will be complete on 10th July, I'm certainly cutting it close!

I never recieved a "Thank you for signing up for your account via MSE", should i be concerned?
djaydearz
30 Jun 17 #405
Actually I have now received it! So it took 29 standards days to receive it.
itsadeal
30 Jun 17 #406
Still not got mine.
Have you had any interest or the £5 paid in for DD's ?
EndemicAlarm
30 Jun 17 #407
I have just received an email from TSB confirming the payment of the £130 bonus. No sign of any £5 bonus.
johncas
30 Jun 17 #408
Mine switched today, Direct Debits did move across but show up as 'Not Paid' and unsure of next payment so looks like TSB can't really determine between 'active' and 'not active' anyway!
Manny50
4 Jul 17 #409
Would I put the £500 in once the switch has been completed?

Yes, after the switch date.

steveo22
5 Jul 17 1 #413
Same here I phoned 03458357838 I wasn't on mse list. So they have added me to list and say I will get incentive in next couple of days.
voodoo85
5 Jul 17 #414
Switched on 7th June and no payment yet, today being exactly 28 days which some people have been paid on, will give it a bit longer before contacting them. Have done everything asked (2x DD, £500 in etc)
flopstocks
6 Jul 17 1 #415
Anyone seen the £5 bonus for direct debits yet?
Mark5211
6 Jul 17 #416
Id contact them as I switched on the 7th and got the £130 on Wednesday.
voodoo85
6 Jul 17 #417
Will check tomorrow (Friday) and give them a call if not. Thanks for the info
benchaud
11 Jul 17 1 #418
mine switched on 5th June, recieved nothing, so called them on 03458357838, OPTION 1 AND OPTION 1. TSB said i was not on the list, although they could see i did the switch via mse, apparently technical issue

bonus should be in the account tomorrow

i would recommend you call if its been more than 30 days, maybe they hope people will forget, what a bank playing tricks, surely not!

Not had the £5 paid in does anyone know how much interest you'd earn on £1500? As in the 3%
flopstocks
15 Jul 17 #422
I got £3.89 a month interest last month, still no sign of the £5 direct debit bonus though.

Would be interested to know if others have seen this.
djaydearz

Not had interest or reward here. Switched on the 1st Jun. I've had the 130 bonus though
Nathullkr

It's been 28 days and no 130 for switching done all the requirements has anyone else had this
GregK2
18 Jul 17 #425
Had the £130 but no £5
taras
19 Jul 17 #426
the £5 plus £5 pounds are paid the following month:
So if you have 2 active direct debits and 20 card transactions during june, it will be paid in july on the 15th.
Same for july it will be paid in august
flopstocks
20 Jul 17 #427
Had the £5 direct debit cash through today, much better than my previous Halifax Reward account
djaydearz
20 Jul 17 #428
What date did you switch?
flopstocks
20 Jul 17 1 #429
25th of May
iAmLegendFam
30 Jul 17 #430
Had interest and the £130, no £5 per month for having DD's.
