Spotted that Sainbury's have upped their 0% purchase credit card offer to 31 months, longest 0% purchase offer in the market. Great offer if you are looking to make some purchases over the coming months.
You will also get 5000 Nectar bonus points if you use the card 4 times in the first month at Sainsbury's on petrol or grocery spend. 5000 points has a base value of £25 (worth £50 in a double up event).
p.s. if you are unsure if you will be accepted for the card worth looking at your likelihood of acceptance via the Moneysupermarket smart search tool moneysupermarket.com/cre…es/

My card finally arrived on friday, I've got just under two weeks to go to Sainsbury's four times

Applied on day 1 of this deal and got accepted for £12.5k. Nightmare admin process. Had to sign paper forms etc. Took 3 days for the forms to arrive, another 3 days for them to receive the forms. PIN arrived a week later and card another week after that. I've made the 4 transactions now (within 3 days of receiving card!) and they confirmed after a phone call today that it was within time. Can't really complain as a really good deal and it has ended up working for me but delays in admin and postage were frustrating!

I've had my pin through but still waiting on the card. Apparently the Nectar points month timeframe starts from when they open the account, so for me that's nearly a week ago.
To answer the above when I rang up the guy was talking about the old ts and cs so I'd hope they'll honour it. Didn't manage to establish if there was a minimum spend though

2 weeks after popping agreement in the post my card has turned up, seems kinda rubbish you can not use android pay or contactless... Though i am sure i will survive.
Also, i noticed the latest version of this deal requires you to spend £250 to get your nectar points, vs this one where you get your nectar points after spending any amount 4 times in sainsbury's.

Bloody hell. Just got a letter a couple of days ago saying that I've been approved for the 29-month card. Not a massive difference, but still!

12 May 17#44
I can't remember exactly what it said but I'm pretty sure they said they would contact me within 7-10 days to let me know if my application was successful. Obviously it's not been that amount of time yet but it's a bit crap that I haven't received anything to even acknowledge my application. Could do with the card asap as well.

I've got no loans or similar other than the mortgage but I've already got a Virgin card that I'm stoozing with for a similar amount, and an Amex for offers/Clarity for any foreign spends. Was surprised to be accepted to be honest but it seems there's some mileage in posts stating that you're more likely to be accepted if they think they can make money off you due to holding a balance on existing credit.

Just been approved, with around a 7k limit. Going to use in conjunction with a sharesave scheme so almost a guaranteed return. Thanks for the post.
Registration process is a bit strange as it directs you to sign up for online banking but the link isn't clickable and Finish doesn't do anything either. I've got a reference number so I'll assume all's gone through.

What are you on about? We are currently having to pay 4% interest on £10,000. We only have 3 years left on our mortgage and have just came out of a 5 year fixed term. No other banks are interested in a £10,000 mortgage. To remortgage they want us to up it to £25,000, so we are currently stuck with the company we took our fixed rate with. I just want to find a cheaper way to pay the £10,000 and hoped this might be an option. No need for sarcastic comments, unless you have a solution for me, then you can make all the sarcastic comments you like.

8 May 17#31
Totally agree with this, i tried to get this with a perfect credit score (993 of a maximum possible 999 on Experian) and was rejected outright. I was then accepted for a Virgin mortgage within the next 4 weeks followed by a Lloyds credit card with a credit limit of 15K a few weeks after. Wouldn't apply for a Sainsburys card again, Your mileage of course may vary,

Sorry, I'm new to how credit cards work with these deals If I got enough credit etc... I could in theory buy a £5k kitchen on this and pay £250 (Is minimum payment 5%?) a month over a couple of years until it was paid off and not pay any interest?

Not sure you'd save £10k mortgage interest in 2 years from a £10k overpayment..... (_;)

8 May 17#25
If you like however, you could spend on this card, and overpay your mortgage (subject to maximums without penalty). It would take a while, and you probably won't get a 10K limit on this card however.
r2mahara
8 May 17#24
Does anyone know if it's possible to get this card if you already hold another Sainsbury's card? (BT in my case).
Edit: Looks like NO. "Sainsbury's Bank Nectar Credit Cards are available to new Sainsbury's Bank Credit Card customers only."

8 May 17#23
I could be wrong, but don't think your mortgage company will accept payment from a credit card, you will need to find a money transfer card, but they usually have one off fees.

Any idea what the limit is on a card like this? Could I pay my £10,000 mortgage off saving me a lot of interest?

8 May 17#21
I posted a different deal for a balance transfer Sainsbury's card a few months ago and lots of people got accepted for that.
If you have doubts you will be accepted, suggest you look at your likelihood of acceptance via the moneysupermarket smart search tool, only a guide though, it's not pre approval.
I read on the previous deal of the "29 month 0% interest purchase" also from Sainsbury that nobody was able to pass their credit check.
Good luck with that.

5000 Nectar points is worth at least £25 at Nectar partners. If you can wait until the end of the year when JS do a Nectar double up, they're worth £50.
If you need fewer months as you get £25 cashback not everyone needs two and a half years to pay something off
