I'm pretty sure that they would simply replace the battery and sell it for a lot more if that was the only issue

I have just noticed that says only work when charger is plugged in, so not as great a deal. New batteries can be purchased separately by the looks of the ebay page.
Still not too bad though

Bit of a weird issue to have so many laptops that only work when charged in?

I bought a tablet from them for £30, it was a brick in an hour, just kept bluescreening.
When I was returning it they woudl only communicate outside of ebay messaging and were insisting on collecting the item instead of me posting it back - it seemed suspicious so returned it via post as ebay told me to and the return was fine, though I am concerned what would have happened had I not done that

Not really worth them spending time and money on putting batteries in all these 'new' units as the gain would be minimum if at all. Not to mention they have to pay someone to do that.

Any ideas on how easy to upgrade the ram n HDD? Can't find any pics of base.
How much space will be left on this after windows 10. Sorry not used windows for nearly a decade. But was thinking for photo shop etc or windows apps

I'm wondering why you need Windows? If you can't use Photoshop that means you're on Linux/Unix as Windows and OSX support Photoshop. I guess you've tried GIMP and either don't like it or you can't get the plugins you require in GIMP? Also windows apps will run virtually on Linux/Unix maybe there's a performance issue for you from the emulation?
Whats the processor like also ssd is only 32 gb.... wont have much space left after windows 10

As somebody stated here already - how simple just to replace the battery.
It strikes me that there is more than an 'only works when plugged in issue'.
I bet buying a new battery would not solve the issue.
But what do I know?

The 2 ebay links for batterys are not suitable. This needs a clevo w310 battery.

No guarantee it's a faulty/old battery; could be the charging circuit.
Seems very strange to have so many with precisely the same fault.

So basically they've put best offer on so it gets shown in more searches but have no intention of accepting any lower offer.
Pet peeve of mine when sellers do that, petty I know but it annoys me.
£60 isn't a massive amount but it's only got a 3 month warranty plus I'd have to spend our for a battery if I actually wanted it to be portable.

2 Apr 171#36
So now even faulty laptops are becoming hot deals? Too many just seeing the title and clicking hot.
If it was just the battery that was faulty it would be a simple swap and the laptops would be much easier to sell.
Working with Dell laptops, if a laptop has this issue and swapping in a known good battery doesn't work, then likely it is the charging circuits on the motherboard that have failed - that requires a motherboard replacement, which on a cheap laptop is an instant write off in terms of costs. That is more likely the issue that would prompt selling like this. the laptop will work when plugged in with the charger, but try to use it off power and it will die instantly.
Would this be good for gaming?, probably a stupid question but just wanting to know
