Price is without the aliexpress warranty, with it, its £124.54(to remove the warranty change your location to USA, then change it back once you have placed it in your cart).
Think everyone knows all about this phone.
When you trying to find the best price, ensure you are comparing like with like. Sellers need to say it has B20 or 800mhz band, this is the global version. If it says global rom or international it probably isn't the 'global version'.
On aliexpress there is no official Xiaomi stores, there are a few stores that pretend to be, they are all just retailers.
For cases and screen protectors, look for ones advertised for Redmi Note 4X or that specify Global Version Redmi Note 4. Snapdragon model has updated housing but cases advertised as 'Redmi Note 4' will most likely be for the original Mediatek housing, and won't fit this phone correctly.

It states B20 under 'Main Features' and 'Specifications' in the description. Redmi Note 4 Snapdragon 'Global Version' = B20 model. The Chinese non B20 equivalent is Redmi Note 4X which the same seller has a listing for here. In that listing's description, the seller provides a table of differences that denotes one of the key differences is that the 'Redmi Note 4 Global Version' has B20.

I bought this via the Xiaomi store on Aliexpress ie £122 listing to avoid uncertainties regarding the firmware so that OTAs can be received in the future without fiddling.
But if it gets infected and then rooted not by the user, OTAs will no longer work.
Then, you will need to reflash original firmware so OTAs can work again.

Yeah just B20, there might be another frequency missing aswell but its not used in UK so doesn't matter. O2(GiffGaff/tesco) are the main user, but its also used on other networks to a much lesser extent. If you are not on an O2 network you are not going to notice, it will just use a 3g frequency instead of 4g in a few locations.

Can't believe the price of this thing keeps getting cheaper, I purchased it for £121 with a voucher when this was posted about three weeks ago.
I choose the free post option with SingaporePost and arrived within 2-3 weeks. Did not get stopped by customs and required a signature from the post man. The box it came in was fully sealed in cellophane and in new condition. The global version comes with the Android store and Google Apps already installed so no need to side load apps or make any changes.
This is a seriously good phone for the price, the quality seems good and my only gripe is the skin they have put over Android. But this only because Im use to pure Android phones after owning Nexus devices and will take me no time to get use to it.

I have both, and honestly, you're better off with the mediatek chip if you don't care about having lineage os.
The build quality of the mediatek unit is far superior, and the chipset is way faster in day to day use, noticeably so. Even Vs stock android on the 4x snapdragon version.
Plus there's the fact that the global 4X creaks and feels cheap, along with a less responsive screen.
Battery wise, i get around 10-11 hours SoT over 2 days with the 4x, compared to 7-8 hours with the mediatek 4.
Ultimately, the trade off from battery is worth it for a way better build, and better performance.

Table of the different versions. There is no benefit to getting the Redmi Note 4X over this. This phone is essentially the exact same as it but with added B20 support. The Redmi Note 4X listings state Redmi Note 4 ROM because they use the same Global ROM. Redmi Note 4 'Global Version' will have Global ROM pre-installed and be sealed but China Redmi Note 4X will have been opened by the seller to install the Global ROM themselves.

I disagree with this, I have just sold my mediatek version, the build quality on this one is absolutely fine and much better than the price tag would suggest when compared to Moto G etc. The only difference really is the plastic caps at the top and bottom, however the reception on this one is far far better than the mediatek im getting full bars on Three 4G on the mediatek I was lucky to get three bars at home.
While I agree that the Mediatek proccessor is faster on benchmarks and in opening apps it quickly heats up and thus slows down when browsing etc this Snapdragon varient stays insanely cool and can run full power without the constraints of thermal throttling kicking in a much smoother more efficient proccessor!
The screen on this one is slightly brighter and is no less responsive than the mediatek and the camera seems slightly crisper on the snapdragon.

The global version of the Redmi Note 4 is different and by the way superior to the Chinese version. The global version of the Note 4 was released in China as the Redmi Note 4x. So basically accessories for the 4x will fit this version of the Note 4.

This is the 'global version', it supports all the UK bands.
The band 20/800mhz is missing on your note 3 and is also missing on the normal note 4. You may see the note 4 for less money but it tends to be the chinese version, not the global version. Sometimes the chinese version is advertised as having global rom, or the international version, but it still doesn't have band 20.

Sorry, meant to report back sooner but it’s been a busy week!
Mine arrived on Thursday, sealed box and very well packed. Great service from FANTACY TECH/Aliexpress.
Right, the phone itself... I'm still playing so this could all change but first impressions are really good! Great build quality, screen and the battery is incredible! Very happy with that.
Didn't really use MUI for any period of time because I like Nova too much but my only gripe so far with the home screen I have is that I'm finding the notification bar's icons too small - they're tiny! And it's a 5.5" HD screen
Small thing, but I can't get the alarm (doesn't matter what app/widget I use) to display correctly on my home screen. For some reason, even if an alarm isn't set, it still displays as SUN 12:00. I've posted on the Xiaomi/XDA forums and haven't had a solution proposed yet - not sure if anyone here has experienced it yet?
There is loads of customisation that I’m still getting to grips with having come from Lollipop. GPS for example. There are loads of battery saving features on this phone and by default, everything is switched off after the screen goes off – something I learnt much to my annoyance after coming back from a run on the bike. My results were all over the show! Think I’ve sorted that now.
I get a bit of a strange noise, sounds like its meant to be a notification, when I end a call. That's the most consistent example I can give. There are other occasions when I hear it but I can't think of specifics? I don't think it's a speaker issue because the rest of my sounds are fine. I'd like to be able to turn it off anyway, it's probably corrupted or something? I’m going to do a full, factory reset at the next OTA update, which “fingers-crossed” should be Nougat :sunglasses:
Minor personal issues aside, I generally think this handset is a great bit of kit, especially for what I paid.

anyone have any suggestions as to ones that may actually fit correctly? it's a good looking phone, but the fact that the protector doesn't fit is an ocd nightmare
Point on the cases/screens, the Nillkin cases for the Note 4X to be used on the Note 4 are spot on but I can't find any correctly fitting screen protectors/tempered glass :disappointed:

Yes, the Nillkin case (4X version) came with a screen protector that fits perfectly. Tempered glass ones won't fit because of the curved screen but the film ones do.

Opening post

Ultimately, the trade off from battery is worth it for a way better build, and better performance.
Any one else had this?
ps thx OP been waiting for this one.
e2a log in with your account on the app first then go homepage..
e2a just checked my account on my pc and coupons not added here.
May just be down temporarily, odd you getting different result to me tho.
Thanks OP!
Tell me you final figure when your done, I forgot about TCB. :sunglasses:
Perhaps another option to this phone but more expensive (£150 4Gb/64Gb) is the snappily named LeEco LeTv Le Max 2 X829 with Snapdragon 820, one down side is it doesn't take micro sd.
Simples. :-)

Re the coupons, dont think my phone liked the app, I ended up installing the app on my android box and they popped right up.
For some reason, mine came in at £114.80 - The vouchers on the app took a while to come through, but came eventually.
And now the long wait. Technically this phone was *free since I'm returning my Ulefone Power to Amazon for £140
Thanks again OP!
Thanks.
Edit: just seen than it is :smirk:
Was just about to order this but I'm not sure now...

Fingers crossed the stuff I've linked to is the real deal.
Same here, had a fake Nillkin, to be fair it was quite good!
Confusing i know.
Also I have a redmi note 3 and it doesn't support all the bands e.g. Three.
Is this any different?
The band 20/800mhz is missing on your note 3 and is also missing on the normal note 4. You may see the note 4 for less money but it tends to be the chinese version, not the global version. Sometimes the chinese version is advertised as having global rom, or the international version, but it still doesn't have band 20.
The Mi5 is nearly twice the price, allround that bit nicer with a 5.2" screen.
Point to note, the Sparkle case is not black, more grey.
Very happy. Just need the phone now :smirk:
Anyone had there's yet?
Never inspires you with much confidence when they can't even spell "Dispatched" right...
Hope it arrives soon, my Z1 Compact is LITERALLY falling apart
Dispatch is used more in America whilst despatch is more English.
I see plenty of signage around businesses showing both spellings.

Mine arrived today chaps 15 days so shouldn't be long now, Just having a play atm, so far so good. Box was sealed Tom.
FYI No UK for location on setup so went Falklands, think I recall this being mentioned before. Just a case now of having a play with the OS to get used to it. Three sim went in ok not sure yet if all the pic msg etc is set up tho. I will pop back if I discover anything Earth shattering.
Minor personal issues aside, I generally think this handset is a great bit of kit, especially for what I paid.
but definitely worth the money.
the screen protector though is ugly as hell.
anyone have any suggestions as to ones that may actually fit correctly? it's a good looking phone, but the fact that the protector doesn't fit is an ocd nightmare

Also bought this case which comes with a screen protector:

Has anyone had better luck?

She can probably still use whatsapp via wifi.
