Now available on the Xbox One, allows you to watch live tv from the freeview channels. There is also 29 premium channels.
Not tried it personally, but hopefully works ok!

Had this app on my Apple TV, great app if you don't have a smart TV or TV Ariel.

Hope it's better than the app with the same name on Amazon Fire TV - horrid quality and buffering. Think I'll stick with the £6 Xbox digital tv tuner

ok I know it is free but the quality of the stream is very poor (pixelated). If you have an android tv box and are running Kodi there is a Freeview app. This is a lot better definition and includes more channels i.e. Dave

Does this have any functionality to make me want to use it instead of just using my smart TV which already has freeview and capability to stream catch up?
Does it give any options to record content to the xbox harddrive or download content to watch later (ondemand style rather than streaming catchup)?
If not, then using a pad to navigate is more clunky than a TV remote, and it's just one more device in the chain that doesn't need to be there.

Not for much longer though. Snap function is being binned off to improve dashboard performance

Interesting! Thanks OP. Can anyone advise if this is available on Amazon Firestick? (Not in a position to check this myself unfortunately).
That's appreciated Marcoos, sorry I'd have done Ye Olde Googling myself if I hadn't been in position to. Much obliged.

Even though I have never tried it.... booooo to this, I can understand being able to bin it off yourself in settings but seems a step back to remove it...
surely some people loved that feature?

Never a feature I personally bothered with, so won't miss it.
But I'm sure there will be a few people who will miss it and vent rage on the Internet

The ability to pause live tv is worth the small price alone

Abysmal picture quality on Discovery and other Premium channels using the app via Android Box. SD or less.
