The third game in the Fallout series, Fallout 3 is a singleplayer action role-playing game (RPG) set in a post-apocalyptic Washington DC. Combining the horrific insanity of the Cold War era theory of mutually assured destruction gone terribly wrong, with the kitschy naivety of American 1950s nuclear propaganda, Fallout 3 will satisfy both players familiar with the popular first two games in its series as well as those coming to the franchise for the first time.
The Story: Vault 101 – Jewel of the Wastes
For 200 years, Vault 101 , a fallout shelter, has faithfully served the surviving residents of Washington DC and its environs, now known as the Capital Wasteland. Though the global atomic war of 2077 left the US all but destroyed, the residents of Vault 101 enjoy a life free from the constant stress of the outside world. Giant Insects, Raiders, Slavers, and yes, even Super Mutants are all no match for superior Vault-Tec engineering. Yet one fateful morning, you awake to find that your father has defied the Overseer and left the comfort and security afforded by Vault 101 for reasons unknown. Leaving the only home you've ever known, you emerge from the Vault into the harsh Wasteland sun to search for your father, and the truth.

Probably the best game ever. If you're worried about it being a bit long, you can race through the main story pretty quickly. There's plenty to keep you interested though, with side quests and DLC. e.g. Mothership Zeta.

I love these games Fallout 3 was just plain awesome, i love how achievements are put into games as most people would play and complete a game, where achievements give you a reason to try everything like hunting down all the bobbleheads, all locations and playing the game 3xs to as you can be good and be nice to everyone, neutral or bad and just kill everyone.
New Vegas was fun as well with the different factions and different endings. Then hardcore mode which was fun but fairly easy if you pick the right stats at the beginning and go certain routes.
I've yet to play Fallout 4 as i prefer to get a complete edition of the game and its possible Fallout 3 could come with that edition.
The only downside for me is i wish you have achievements on the 360 and the one

It'll change your mind. I'd not played anything remotely like this before it came out - it's still my favourite game of the last ten years. No question.

It's backwards compatible mate. Key redeems and works on both.

If you haven't got it or never played it, I can't think of a better £2.85 to spend. Less than the cost of a pint.
