Webers are well known to be excellent BBQ's, and I've done a lot of searching for the past few days trying to find a good deal.
Haivng looked around, this model is at least £230 everywhere else, and most are over £250.
It's definitely a premium product and you can get cheaper BBQ's, but for reputation and quality, you can't beat a Weber.

My BBQ consists of bricks I bought and cemented, and a few quid BBQ grill which has lasted outside in lake district weather for +7year.
Total cost less than £20.
If I wanted to smoke something I could just blank off the underneath of my bbq and set fire to smoke chips under it and pull the smoke up over the bbq by causing a vacuum by blanking off my bricks above the wood chip.
Anyhow if you rather have a chavvy metal BBQ on wheels for next to £200 notes that's your choice.

Sure.... except you don't have a clue what you are talking about. You stick to your black burgers and sausages on your home made grill and leave the proper smoking to people who aren't short sighted enough to think a brick bbq is the pinnacle of bbq'ing....

Hi All,
I've been looking at BBQs for a while now, tempted to go for this Weber, but found a few alternatives that might compare favourably when considering prices:
Where's place for decent quality coal / lump wood?

Read amazingribs.com for ideas.
Buy some cheap metal turkey trays to use as water baths. Don't bother doing what weber suggest and having a basket of coal on each side, put them both at the back in a kite shape, light a few coals at one end and let the fire spread to the rest slowly. Put your meat on the opposite side of the bbq over a drip tray. Water tray directly over coals to keep the temperature down and add humidity. Smoking chips are a bit pointless but if it is all you can get, make a foil sausage of chips and poke a few holes in it. Apple sized chunks of smoking wood are better, mixed in with your coals so they burn slowly.
You'll want a decent thermometer, the built in one on mine isn't that bad, but it is too high up in the lid. A decent meat thermometer is a good idea too.
Chickens are really easy to do to start as if the temperature climbs it really doesn't matter.

Don't know if these are still the quality they used to be, but my parents still have the Weber BBQ we bought when I was a young kid... it must be at least 26 years old. It's survived several house moves (including one international move!) and hasn't had any particularly special treatment.. the damn thing is just indestructible.
So, arguably the only BBQ you'd ever need

I'll be receiving mine tomorrow, but read A LOT of reviews about them before buying it, and I've not read a bad review yet, it's also a Which Best Buy.
They aren't bad, but over priced for us in the UK as per usual, they are only $150 in the US. Never mind...
Yes they are ok, noticeable differences between Weber and Rosle is the attention to detail, weber's parts are usual made from aluminium and bits of mild steel were as Rosle are stainless.
I saw one of these in a department store in Germany and decided to order one up, it is a great deal better in it's construction and features.
I have three Webers, and must say I was disappointed that I purchased a Go-Anywere in 2009 and it started to rust already.
I had four Weber chimney starters, they aren't that great, they are made from mild steel and rust very easily. I would recommend a Rosle one because it's stainless and lasts a great deal longer.
What is the 'Discount Card Price'? Can normal guests to the site purchase this at the above price or require a card?

12 Apr 17#14
Great price. Fed up of cheap BBQs that barely last a summer, time to invest in something decent.
Thinking of doing pizzas in them too, do you need the Weber pizza conversion kit or will chucking in a pizza stone / steel do just as good a job?

As this has the "GBS" - Gourmet BBQ System, which basically means the middle section of the grate is removable, and you can add the Weber pizza stone in there (along with sear grate, wok, griddle etc).

You can deffo get a Weber pizza stone on charcoal or gas. Put pizza stone on straight away and let it get smoking hot before putting pizza on and in 5-10 mins job done. Can also recommend Weber smokey mountain for proper low n slow

Best BBQ By a country mile! Use mine every week. Worth getting this model. Also Chimney starters are definitely worth it.

Very expensive brand! But hey if it's cheaper than normal price
I've had one for three years. It's brilliant. I use it almost every day in summer, less frequently but still once a fortnight or so all through winter.
Use a chimney starter, preferably the weber one purely because it is big. I tend to use restaurant grade lumpwood charcoal because the chunks are bigger and there is less unusable dust, but any good brand briquettes will be work too.
As well as the usual British BBQ stiff, I've seared steaks, vegetables, smoked chickens, briskets, ribs, pork butts, shoulders, fish etc etc. Very versatile, look up two zone cooking, read some American forums etc for ideas.
The ash clearing vents are great, scoops it all into a bucket to be emptied out. Grates are thick wire, holds a lot of heat so good sear marks on steaks, the grates hinge up so you can add smoking wood to the coals. Centre pops out to install weber branded accessories but I don't use these.
Thick enamel coating all over, Weber warranty is exceptional. I have absolutely no complaints, I've used it more than my oven.
