Bought today several left on shelf, wife wouldn't let me buy anymore :disappointed: seems like a great reduction if you are lucky enough to get one, most Tesco stores seem to be getting rid of their stock, worth while having a look see if near a store.

Why in the storeroom? Because each product has only so many facings, and if range has changed, then the new range is displayed rather then the old range.
Some stores better then others at letting customers have the bargains rather then the staff. Depends on the store managers.

Yes, Fforestfach Tesco in Swansea have never had any of the gadget hotukdeals as far as I can recall. But another one a few miles away, Llamsamlet, usually has the deals. Enough said.

why in the storeroom....cos they are waiting for the nod to reduce price and they will have them for themselves and then they'll go on eBay

Tesco has cardboard packaging on display for hard drives, and is for the newer packaging of this item. The old packaging items are reduced to clear and are kept in back until such time the manager decides to put them out for clearance. Trying to track down stock is hard as different variations of the item exist and CS are next to useless

Thanks for the info, for clarity just to let you know that the hard drives that were on display were the big cased drives with external power supplies and hence the big sized retail boxes, not the small ones powered by USB. They had no Small USB powered drives on display at all.
I'll keep passing by the isle on subsequent visits to the store just to see what they do display over the next few months.

whats barcode on this one? (under the yellow label)

like imran999 asks, can somebody let us have the barcode please. I went to Tesco today and they only had a few external hard drives on display (these were packaged in big retail boxes) but none were the ones that come in small retail boxes. They use to have them displayed in individually locked Perspex cases but none on display so I asked at the counter. The chap went to look in the stock room and came back with one, but when he checked the price it was listed at £58. I queried him why do they have them in the store room and not on display, how are they going to sell any, another assistant who was there replied that people steal them.
Maybe Tesco should not put out at all on the shelves any of the items they sell then that would cut their loss from stolen items to £0, i'm sure their new CEO would be really pleased with that.
anyway, back to the hard drive, please let us have a barcode. Thanks.

Don't worry gents, the way the UK and Europe is going our new overlords will soon put a stop on women leaving the house without permission. Mind you, it would also mean no more deals on here for gillette razor blades.
