Okay thanks appreciate your info will certainly pass it onto dad who has also got the ultra 6, fortunately for him his seems to be so far trouble free ! mine was definitely faulty , as I say first went back early on and the replacement started playing up after 9 months, have read a good few folk experiencing similiar keypad problems, in the end there was certain letters that would just not be recognised making texting etc somewhat difficult !
must say amazon have been totally amazing with there customer service on both occasions off returning the phones, full refund within 24 hours off raising a dispute.. impressed.
again thou not sure what to try next as this sort off price range ?!

It is sealed as in you have to take the back off by (remove sim and memord card holders first!) using edge of credit card to make gap and then remove with card/finger. Once back removed lift off battery from bottom - its just stuck to phone. Then disconnect cable - fit new one that you will have ordered from UK for under £15 - not China as not here 4 weeks later! Sure your screen wasn't dirty re your problem or battery partly going - mine made phone curve on rear then flash stopped working.

Yes, with normal post, it's free of import taxes etc, since it comes via a European hub.
Yes, the Global ROM is free of viruses, trojans etc. Scan it with Kasperksy etc or any number of AVS, if you're worried.
No, you can't physically 'take it back' unless you live in China, but why would you need to? It comes with a warranty and you also have to specifically authorise AliExpress to release funds to the seller via AliPay, so if it turns up and it's not working, then you simply request a refund as AliExpress are holding the money, not the seller. It's also MUCH better built that the SU7, there aren't known problems with them (apart from the speaker / video orientation software bug which is easy to correct) and there's a huge amount of software / ROM support from the developer.
SU7 is lower tier phone. If you prefer to pay more for a lower tier phone, then that's up to you.

Did not know you could replace the battery on these ultra 6 models thought they were totally sealed ? anyway my second one has just gone back to amazon, first lasted a few months and second one nine months... keyboard, extreme lagging and random apps opening themselves etc !!
pity as think the phone was great for the money but just won't take another chance with one, not sure if to try the ultra 7 ?
Joe90_guy
17 Apr 17#64
Possible VAT and Import Duty? No credible 'take it back to Argos' guarantee? A ROM that is definitely free from dodgy Chinese Trojan viruses? These are equally valid reasons why the SU7 might be the more sensible purchase. Also having now had a play with the wife's SU7, all I can say is it's fine; more or less the same as my old SU6.

The Note 4 (SD625, 3GB/32GB, 1080p, 4000mAH, aluminium unibody, fingerprint sensor etc) is £120 for the Global version.
The 2GB/16GB version is ~ £100.
If you don't need a 5.5" or 1080p, the standard Note 3/4 can be had for about £80-£90.
All 3 phones offer more features, 'bang per buck' and better build quality than this Vodafone.

The Xiaomi phones blow this out of this the water.
I bought it yesterday. The phone comes around £80 indirectly.
If you pay online it's just £99 including top-up and you will get a £10 voucher if you make the purchase to £100.
So £100 - £10(voucher) - £10(top-up) = £80(worth).

Piece of cake, show them their own website... https://support.vodafone.co.uk/Protecting-your-phone/Warranty/38948878/When-I-buy-a-device-from-Vodafone-how-long-does-the-warranty-last.htm
Annoying that they try this on, they're also known for suggesting an active Vodafone SIM is required too. I didn't mention the SIM that came with the PAYG phone(was never used) and gave them my 3 number for contact. Around 14 day turnaround while they decided what to do before deciding to 'upgrade'. Happy not to require any further dealings with them!
Edit:I'm certain you can book a repair online or possibly via chat though I've found most dealings with Vodafone to be unpleasant.

First you must register and log in on the Argos web site otherwise you can't get the phone at the low Fast Track price. Put the phone in your basket. Click on Collection. On the next screen you will see a panel (not a single icon) which asks if you want the in-store Fast Track service. Add something small (I added a £1 SIM) to get the £10 off voucher. Then pay (I used PayPal). I used the £10 off voucher on a separate order for the bathroom scales (£12.99 reduced to £2.99 with the voucher. Bargain!).
Everything (phone, SIM & scales) was ready for collection at my local Argos at 4:00 pm (they e.mail you to confirm it's deffo there). Give the codes to the Argos assistant and she gives you the stuff. Very quick!
Have the phone and after a few minutes of messing around, I'm quite impressed. It's a bit more compact and a bit lighter than my Smart Ultra 6.
Hope this helps...

Thanks OP. The wife recently lost her Nexus 7 tablet. There aren't that many decent, sub-£100 7" 1080p tablets around these days so after a think, she reckoned she could do everything she did on the Nexus on a 5.5" phone instead. The fact that she could use the £10 Argos voucher to get a tenner off some new bathroom scales sealed the deal! Heat added.

Daughter's SU6 died with the screen edge glue issue, Vodafone 'upgraded' to SU7 (under the 2 year warranty though I had to remind them it was 2) which I sold (don't like MediaTek). Bought a xiaomi redmi note 3 se which is a great phone.

Yes, as chancooluk says, this is fake. It's a scam to get you to download malware at best and viruses at worst. Don't touch sites like this.
XDA Forums are the place to look for any ROMS and I don't think anyone has come up with anything for the SU7.

That's one of those scam sites that tries to get you to download its virus filled "ROM" files.

I have a smart ultra 6 but as this is no way an upgrade I will not be partaking. Lenovo p2 for me, when I can convince the wife that is.
Looks interesting; I can't help but wondering whether the extra would be worth it for the Moto G5 (or even the G4). Both got Nougat with a promise from Lenovo of O (Oreo?).

My friend bought this last week, for the money it certainly looked great value. Having a quick play around with it i did notice a bit of lag when putting some demand on it but what can you expect for a phone in this price bracket. Must admit though looked very nice.
My nephew purchased the Lenovo Moto G5 the other day and although £40 more expensive (from GiffGaff) this would probably be my choice of budget smartphone. Vodafone did have a nice large screen though if that's important to you.
