Cheapest I've seen a 55in 4K TV. Didn't think it was a bad deal. Don't know if it is national. Pity I bought new TV few months back

The Tesco extra in Humberston had 4 left.
The 43in on tesco direct is currently £329.

HDR or not (obviously not) but if your gonna spend this amount then just get a full HD set. Scaling on a poor set is bad enough but scaling up to 4 K on a budget set... Nah

So much CRAP spouted on here by mainly "CLEVER DICKS" or just DICKS in most cases.
If you like your TV and enjoy it then you are happy with your purchase then whatever these "CLEVER" ***** say is irrelevant.

Yeah of course you do  . Now what were those tvs you mentioned.

Try and reply as soon as possible please. I've got a flight to catch to get on set to direct for the next star wars installment.

Anything yet? Thought not

11 May 17 #59
I'd still disagree. Infact I'd go as far to say both my tvs would out perform that Hitachi, 4k or not! so your basing your judgement on just playing a console sitting directly in front of it. Not any TV viewing like films, sports etc. You actually think the upscale 1080 will look better than a 1:1 pixel image watching general TV like most people do especially on a budget model, then I'm sry you are wrong. And a still picture showing just a image is one thing. But you are not taking into consideration what the TV is doing when processing a image, motion, colour reproduction on and on. Begs the ? what was the TV you replaced the Hitachi with. And which Hitachi 4k is it?

Your analogy was ridiculous aswell as it has no relevance. A car and a TV  2 totally different uses!
cbflazaro1
11 May 17 #58
Bet the 4k downscaled to 1080 doesn't look as good and detailed as 4k on a 4k TV,.
I noticed as it was night and day, upgraded from a top of the range 1080p to a "vestel" Hitachi 4k one. Playing 4k on it has no comparison to the 1080p one.
Yes the sound is utter rubbish, tv takes 5 or 6 seconds to come on after you turn it on and so on, but other than that, they are very good for the money and as I've said... You can't find any 4k 55' smart tv for less than this... Só no reason to vote cold regardless if you're a brand snob or not.
A brand spanking new Renault clio for £5k is a great deal, regardless if it lacks the V8 engine that's on your list of minimum requirements or not.

I have done in the past yeah and will do in the future, more to do with the warranty and CS more than a image thing though lol. Richer sounds are very good aswell. You are learning (thanks to me) but still got some way to go. You display an image for yourself. How do you come up with it  you sir really are a crank!

4 May 17 #53
To be fair I use a TV that displays an image to me and not to everyone else. I don't shop at John Lewis for the very same fact, its full of pretentious a-holes with no substance and self image issues. I don't need to keep up with the Jones's pal. Do you shop at John Lewis by any chance?

I'm not a brand person like yourself, I mainly use my Blaupunkt for my CCTV system that watches the grounds and my driveway. I have it set up in my minstrels gallery. The Sony is old technology so its a cr ap TV now. Its 5" less than this one and doesn't have 4K and you paid a lot more for it as well. Think you've been ripped off pal, you stupld illiterate mug!
mivanpy
4 May 17 #50
That's right Sony w829 I bought about 3 years ago. Just over 500 with a soundbar etc I wouldn't say it was old tech atall and definitely wasn't top of the range at the time. Just a very good TV for the money. . Infact i don't think there's many, if any sets with lower latency around at the moment. And the HD which is what is broadcast on TV in the UK is brilliant on it. I don't watch alot of 3d if any if I'm honest just the odd thing here and there it does have a place though. I'd prefer to look a **** with 3d glasses on more than i would love being caught watching a blaupunk in my living room. I think you paid to much for it. You mug
peterkay11
4 May 17 #49
I see you have a Sony w829 how much was that when new? This is also old technology I would suggest comparing it now to new TV's instead of something that was top of the range 4 years ago. Can't understand why you would buy a TV with 3D bet you look a right **** watching Avatar on it haha. Your last post sounds like you've copied and pasted headlines from what HiFi magazine.
"Great latency" "No banding" "You ****"
mivanpy
4 May 17 #48
Not bad for a bedroom TV. Not as good as the living room telly. I don't have a alarm clock full stop! And don't have a BOSE anything but somewhere i have a old blaupunk car stereo from back in the day before they started sticking there names on rubbish tvs
peterkay11
4 May 17 #47
Amazing blacks I presume? I bet the sound is amazing on your Bose alarm clock!
mivanpy
4 May 17 #46

I don't own a 4k TV atall in actual fact. I'm still on the fence with them to be honest. But don't worry my 2 brilliant FHD sets will look great with 4k on them downscaled on them anyway. There is no such thing as the perfect TV . But my 50" w829 is very good and was very reasonably priced about as near perfect for me anyway. Great motion. No banding. Great colours. Fantastic picture all round. Great latency.

I do have a projector as well. But that's entry level. FHD though.
peterkay11
4 May 17 #45
Hope you've got a nice shiny new TV with all the bells and whistles. Everyone can say to you look at his great 4k TV, wow how amazing the resolution is on it.
Bet you've bought one of them Bose alarm clocks? they'd be about at your price point?

mivanpy
3 May 17 #36
Yeah and your opinion means absolutely nothing. You have a blaukpunk TV hahaha for God's sake. Plus you fabricate literally everything you say. So that means the insult you just hurled at me is also untrue. plus that Samsung you have must be awful lol
peterkay11

The problem with you is your ignorance. A total and utter pig ignorant fool.
cbflazaro1

90% of what I see on my TV is 4k.
If you gonna rate a 55 inch 4k smart TV for just over 300 badly because it's not HDR and is not as good scalling up 1080p as a £1000 native 1080p display... Then you're sad.

I know that my "vestel" 4k TV I have at home displays far more pleasing 4k than your £1000 1080p TV with a name brand badge on it.

If you want to argue that most tv we see is hd! Not 4k, remember that in 2-3 years time that will likely change.

peterkay11
30 Apr 17 #25
Sorry that my name is shared with a comedian, it is my real name sorry about that! you are a snob that makes comments that have no bearing on the fact this TV costs a lot less than a 55" HDR set. I've bought a 43" Blaupunkt for £149 and it blows away the picture of my 3 year old Samsung. Vestel or whatever it cost £335 and has 4k. The equivalent TV in the states at best buy has 83 reviews and are all good. However you just keep bragging about your hobby as a AV enthusiast you have never seen this TV. You are a joke not me, sorry I voiced an opinion over your pathetic comments. You sad pathetic excuse of a man; go listen to your BOSE!!
P.s I don't own this T.V
mivanpy
30 Apr 17 #24
What set that costs 3x as much did i compare it with? None. Look at your username? your obviously off your head! get with the programme and get real and stop making things up.

But just for you. Buy this TV like Peter kay did. It's the best TV around for the money. You won't regret it. It's bound to be brilliant even though i haven't seen it. But it's obvious as there are loads of reviews saying how good it is. And all from that trusted brand Toshiba.. (vestel)
peterkay11
30 Apr 17 #23
OK, so from your comments you are implying that its going to be rubbish. All you are is a snob that makes comments that have no bearing on something that costs 3 times less than a set you are comparing it with. You are the deluded one that hasn't even seen this TV in the flesh. You just make comments about the fact its not good enough because you think you know because you are a AV enthusiast. Opinions on something you haven't even seen, you are absolute joke that makes this site pathetic. Off the cuff comments and opinions mivanpy=Richard Head
mivanpy
29 Apr 17 #22
I didn't state that it was rubbish. And i didn't say buy more expensive either. You are deluded. Although
i do suggest that at this size screen and for the same money or less getting a full HD screen because (resolution isn't everything) would be better in my opinion. That's all it was, a opinion. Didn't deserve you making presumptions on what people know and start insulting them.
peterkay11
29 Apr 17 #21
You stated that this is a rubbish TV and that people are better off buying a more expensive branded one that is full HD. You also stated that you are a AV hobby enthusiast?? Hmm you sound like a man who owns a Bose?

completely true. my "toshiba 1080p" is awful. a good quality 720p would be arguably better. People need to consider the quality of the panel.
jameshothothot

fair points but people might want to consider a smaller sized hisense rather than a bigger vestel if the display is as awful as my 22" "toshiba" which is unwatchable when connected to a computer

So it's overpriced for a 55" 4k vestel. Sure. Show me where 55" 4k vestels are being sold cheaper then.

Hate elitists picking on the fact that doesn't have the specs only found on 1500+ tvs. It's a 55" 4k smart TV. If you can't link a TV with the same or better specs currently for sale for less than this, you have no business voting cold imo
