My thoughts FWIW. I purchased the Silentnight Miracoil Travis Microquilt Double Mattress from Argos last month for my daughter which I believe is similar to this. I got that after buying two single Silentnight Miracoil mattresses for my other two daughters. They are a little firm but personally having slept on both I think they are just right, I got better nights sleep on these than I have on our own Sealey mattress which cost a fair bit more. Will most likely replace that when Argos do a 20%/25% off promo which they tend to do fairly frequently.
The Silentnight Miracoil Travis Microquilt is listed for £209 but I got one for £174 plus Topcashback. Unless your fortunate to be able to spend a lot more than a couple of hundred pound I think the Silentnight Miracoil mattresses are a good buy, most reviews are positive if you look.

Well mine is to be delivered a week on saturday by Panther who will call me with a 2 hour slot beforehand and confirm will take my old one away.
So lets see how this mattress is. I have never returned anything to Costco and been a member for now 15 years so if I dont like it I will see how good their CS is!

In their defence they said they had just had to fork out £800 for a mattress they had damaged by bending it up through an aperture that was too small, and with them making hardly any profit on the delivery it wasn't worth risking. We spent longer arguing about it than it would have taken them to get it up the stairs. The fact my old mattress died now makes sense (I bent it up through the narrow stairs when I bought the place). Thank the lord for mattresses that come rolled up! Now I need to just not sell the house for 25 years...

Not sure I'd want to buy, or sleep on, anything THAT fragile! Sounds like they were just being lazy.

I ordered one of these in super king when the price was low a few months ago.
Panther, who deliver, have got a horrible reputation on the web (https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=panther+delivery&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-b&gfe_rd=cr&ei=qSD-WM3-M9CN8QefjpaYCw#q=panther+grou[p&lrd=0x48770e0d5171159d:0xde942e20df5b02cd,1,). In fairness though I did not have a problem.
That said, the guys came in, took 1 look at my stairs, and said "it ain't going up there mate". Apparently you can't bend or cajole these, or it knackers them. The delivery guys said they could either leave it and getting it upstairs without breaking it was my problem, or they could take it away.
So I refused delivery, and bought a HÖVÅG from Ikea (which does come rolled up) with the refund money (that did come very swiftly). Can definitely recommend one of those, for what it is worth. 25 yr guarantee and not a lot more money.

Says miracoil in the title but pocket springs/gel in specification. Which one is true then?

Miracoil mattresses aren't pocket sprung (their pocket sprung models are called Mirapocket or something)

Really depends, a few years with the this or double the years and double the cost swings and roundabouts. If you are after a cheap mattress then this is better than some of the other cheap ones, if you want to pay a grand for a bed this isn't for you.

Thats the good thing about Costco. But you must keep up your membership, without any gaps, for this to apply I believe. But its still a hassle and most folk will regret a purchase of one of these after a couple of years.
With Costco guarantee they will take it back at any time, much easier than trying to work any mattress warranty as none of its worth the paper it's written on.

Miracoil is SilentNight's fancy name for open spring, and open spring mattresses are the worst in terms of comfort, reliability, life span. But if you was to buy a open spring mattress, SilentNight are one of the best to buy from and they also usually give you a good warranty as well. Can complain at that price really either.
I have this, although comfy , its noisy ,,, it creaks and pings, so if your a wriggler in your sleep , it may wake you up
Even your breathing ( chest movement ) can make it ping !!!!

i got this mattress like others did last time the offer was on. in addition to what others have said i would like to add that the comfort is very stiff. we are not sure how we feel about it and sitting on the fence to ditch it for another mattress. just be warned, it is a very stiff comfort level......

It is stiff, but it is advertised as an orthopaedic mattress. We just put a memory foam topper on ours which made it more comfortable.

Not any more, they now offer 3 ways to shop, the usual membership, a one off on line subscription of £15 that lasts 12 months, or you can just pay a 5% surcharge to order items on line, see this

I can understand your rude comment, I should have clarified. I purchased one of these due to it being a reasonable make for a cheap price. I looked at other mattresses which were dearer but had more springs. I should have bought a better/ dearer one as this one started to get a dip in it despite me not being overweight.

Looks like the poster posted in wrong place but have to add to your comment, the delivery service is the best out there, we have bought two silentnight bed / mattress, and a sealy mattress both made by the same company. They are all made to order as you said, but they provide updates throughout the process, text message night before, call 30 mins before plus numerous emails which also allow you to near enough track where they are. Great service.

Yeah there's only 1! It's coil sprung not pocket sprung and having had several pocket sprung mattresses I'm glad that coil sprung mattresses are making a comeback. Will last far longer too (at least at this price point)

Just to clarify, the Silentnight mattresses are not delivered by Yodel, they use a company called Panther. The mattresses are made to order and Panther contact you to arrange a delivery date that is convenient for you. Dormeo are a different manufacturer.

Got a full king size from Costco a few months ago for £399 took a punt, lots of support, but very firm just bought a memory foam topper to add some extra softness. Thought about sending it back with their amazing guarantee but would costs a couple of hundred more plus some to replace and the topper makes it an amazing bed fir the price.
