So here is some update: I bought the S3 which arrived today. I connected it with my OnePlus 3T without any problems, works like a charm.

I had the same issue - my PC (Chrome and Safari) did not allow me to click. Oddly though, my phone did. So I had to order it using my Samsung phone - maybe they only test their website on their own products

The gear s3 was recently rooted, and android wear port is in the works, once that's available and you know what you're doing then you could install android wear 2.0 on the gear s3!
Cant explain the why's or why not's. This is the S3 rather than your S2 and mine is the Oneplus 2 to your Oneplus 3T. I couldnt, and/or it wouldnt allow me to dl the Gear app, plus Samsung themselves told me it woukdnt/shouldnt work. Was gutted, as the watch looked, and from what i saw, worked great. Luckily Samsung let me return it free of charge. As for the compatibility list, obviously out of date.

Great offer, but they use UK Mail only for deliveries, and in our area, they are worse than useless. Only deliver Monday to Friday daytime (we are at work), Samsung don't allow them to leave parcels in safe place, UK Mail don't leave parcels with any local shops or post offices and the nearest depot is a 2 hour, 90 mile round trip and closes at 12pm on Saturday (isn't open at all on Sunday). Has no-one told Samsung that this is the 21st century?

id agree-samsung phones not listed either. Though i can confirm that my Oneplus 2 didnt/doesnt work with it.

I wouldn't make my purchasing decision solely on the devices listed on this webpage as my device (Sony Z5 Premium) isn't on there but it works. Looks like the list hasn't been updated either.

Anyone know where to buy the LG watch sport or Huawei watch 2 yet??
i have the Oneplus 2, and got the s3. Wont allow the gear app on it. Samsung themselves said the two were not compatible.

I have the Gear S2 and a OnePlus 3T, work flawlessly, so I am not sure, why are you having problems.

Had a Frontier S3 a few weeks ago and eventually sent it back.
Technology-wise ... it's a great watch. It has all the fitness bits n bobs, tells the time, you can have dozens of watchfaces, notifications come through, can use the watch as a speaker and take/make calls through the phone itself.
But, the OS just didn't feel right. There is a SEVERE lack of apps for the watch. Samsung advertise thousands of apps, but seem to count 'watchfaces' as apps! The notifications are annoying in that you seem to have to go out and back in again to actually get rid of them, the steps counter wasn't very reliable as sitting at my desk i went through hundreds of steps...
Although the one thing that tipped me over the edge (and it's a silly thing, but the one thing i started off in the early days wanting a smart watch for) was that i could control my music, but after selecting the music app - if i moved the watch away from me, it would reset back to the "lock screen/watchface" and to go back i would have to reselect the music app again. Completely losing the point of the easy and quick change.
Went back to my pebble!

the samsung gear app is not compatible. I called samsung after i received mine, and they told me so also. There is a list on the gear website, and Oneplus isnt on its "Compatible" list.
If you go on play store, and try and dl it, it says "not compatible with your device".

I had the same dilemma but just ordered the Classic since the watch is easily the best in hardware terms with a great battery life, taken a punt that the apps will improve but am happy with what's available right now anyway (first smartwatch)

Works well with an LG but the gear S3 operating system was the deciding factor and so i sent the gear S3 back and used an Android watch instead. Good watch tho

looks like a good deal, just cant warrant the spend lol. hoping for it to come down to the original Huawei watch price, that was sensible @ £180 ish but i doubt that will happen. I think the Apple watch spoilt it for everyone coming out at such a stupid price. Looks like all Android ware 2.0 watches now will be priced at the £300-£350 mark at the Apple price point

I read an interesting article suggesting smart watches were going the same way as 3d TV and until android pay is on more watches I can see their point. The basic statement was that they serve no special purpose. Anyway I will still end up buying one I expect. Fancy the new Tag. Heat added

I've worn a Gear S2 for over a year now and completely agree with the 3D TV analogy... They've created solution to a problem that doesn't exist, they're utterly unnecessary, my TomTom Spark is infinitely better as a fitness tracker... but I absolutely love mine and will probably upgrade at this price tbh
