They have no idea why it was cancelled, but have as of today sent me a brand new latest model 2017 galaxy vr headset for my troubles with a free item!

check out Gamesir G3s, good quality controller and affordable, if you want to step up then an Official Xbox One 2016 ( bluetooth) is fully supported, SteelSeries Stratus XL also cool, Moga Pro also ( if you want to play EA titles non VR)

Get a controller to unlock it's full potential, then get straight into Oculus Arcade..a fave of mine, several classic arcade machines form Sega, Namco and Midway, each game has a limited 10 minute trial, then you can choose to purchase any of them for less than £2
End Space, another controller title, unsure on price

No glass, but it should fit even with the glass. Dont use the white adapter. the connecter should be usb c (mine came with both micro usba and usb c connecter that you could change. It was in a small bag with the white usb c connecter (used to charge the phone while docked). make sure the connecter is in position A not b. I did have to take it out of the case for it to fit.

Some did, 1st mail run, the Note 7 batch, I got the 2nd mail run, no usb interchangeable adapter, and it's not labeled or shows illustrations for the usb c adapter on the box either, the link I gave you is for the S8 adapter for the 2017 model which should be a perfect fit.

Those are for converting micro usb chargers to usb c, I'm guessing your vr didn't come with a usb c Note 7 interchangeble connector like me, you'll need to buy that for your phone to work and fit into the vr, link below. Usb c interchangeable adapter

went through to web chat and spoke to some one. The guy was rude and basically said that the email i received about the technical error was false and i was lying. i should not expect the VR headset as it was supposed to be free and that was a mistake and Vodafone had cancelled all orders. SO i forwarded that and my emails to customer services and executive office who agreed the web chat guy was rude and wrong. They kept my order open AND sent me £80 to my bank account (i dont have an account with Vodafone) to cover if the VR headset doesnt come through or if it does and ever develops a fault i can buy a new one.....

Got it yesterday. Its brilliant. Tried a roller coaster ride - my stomach did a back flip and then some more! It is really good.
To watch movies, install Skybox. On Skybox, you can watch 3D movies as well - in side-by-side or top-down format. You can watch them as if you are in a huge theater. I wish the resolution of the screen was more.
Then there are some VR movies (Jurassic Park/Avengers/etc) they are really good to enjoy.

It will only work with proper Gear VR software on Samsung phones. You may just about be able to fit a non-Samsung phone in to it to use it as a google cardboard viewer, but it won't be very functional (no control pad, and google cardboard expects the ability to tap the screen)..

Well my package has just arrived, I have to say Vodafone have done a good job.
Having watched this thread and seen all the posts saying 'its a mis price it will never arrive' I've learnt one thing in HotUKDeals and that mis price items during a bank holiday generally do arrive. This is now my 2nd mis priced item that was listed during a holiday, the first was the M&S TV that also shipped both high value items.

Some of the basic headsets (i.e. just a phone holder and lenses) cost £10 or more. The Gear VR is better quality, has proper controls on the side (not just a button that pushes something against the screen as Google Cardboard has) and includes better accelerometers than the phone itself to improve accuracy.
Google Daydream is a good slightly cheaper alternative than Gear VR, as it doesn't need the additional sensors or provide controls on the headset, as it only supports a few phones with good enough sensors in them, and provides a separate handheld controller, similar to the newest Gear VR.

It depends what type of games you play, I've got a few paid for ones, End Space, Minecraft, VR Karting,etc. you can also sideload Quake VR and Doom VR via SideloadVR app, some of these games require a gamepad though.
App wise there's quite a few, rollercoasters, social chat, casino etc.

if you read your email it does say that Customer Services wont be able to give any more info, so safe to say, they wont be able to help... If they ahve emailed us and stated in the press they will send them, then loads of bad publicity if they dont. whilst the new version would be great, Samsung probably have loads of these older ones sat somewhere and have sent them to Vodafone free/very cheap to help create good publicity for them both.

Ignoring all the other things they've done, you can see why I don't trust a word they say by reading the article.
The picture in the article was from gazz1a who clearly stated that he picked his up in store and ordered 3 days before HUKD got a hold of it.
This is not mentioned anywhere else online except for another highly creditable source 'Daily Mail' who have pretty much copied and pasted The Sun's story within the last two hours...
I hope we all get one of these but these 'articles' are anything but confirmation that the freebie will be honoured :smiley:

Wow - fair play to Vodafone if they do actually honour the orders. My confirmation said it will be delivered to my local store in 1-2 weeks so time will tell. Saw an email from Vodafone flash up on my phone today and fully expected it to be cancellation but it was just an apology that they were still awaiting stock.

I had the same issue as many, link broken at last minute, spoke to someone on the online chat, told me the deal was never online, unluckily for them I'd both email confirmation of my basket, plus a screenshot of it all, went in store, they verified my photos, rang the complaints department, they offered me 2 months bill-free, plus £50 added to my account, so worked out a good deal!

Spoke to someone on Live Chat after my order number wouldn't work. They said that the headset is "out of stock" and will notify me when it's in stock. I don't know if that means they will send one out when it's in stock, or let me re-order. Sounds like the latter. I suspect it will be the same for everyone.

A phishing site can act as an intermediary relaying the info you add and receive from the genuine site. To the victim everything works and seems as normal except data is being harvested.

Happened to me as well. However just log in and change your password ASAP. I think security is tight because every time I log in I get sent a security code via text. Take a screenshot of your order because it will still not show up on your account. Still. Not sure whether these will be honoured or not.

I have no idea what Skybox is and wouldn't want to advise others to use it unless I knew exactly what it was.
check out Gamesir G3s, good quality controller and affordable, if you want to step up then an Official Xbox One 2016 ( bluetooth) is fully supported, SteelSeries Stratus XL also cool, Moga Pro also ( if you want to play EA titles non VR)

To watch movies, install Skybox. On Skybox, you can watch 3D movies as well - in side-by-side or top-down format. You can watch them as if you are in a huge theater. I wish the resolution of the screen was more.
Then there are some VR movies (Jurassic Park/Avengers/etc) they are really good to enjoy.

Having watched this thread and seen all the posts saying 'its a mis price it will never arrive' I've learnt one thing in HotUKDeals and that mis price items during a bank holiday generally do arrive. This is now my 2nd mis priced item that was listed during a holiday, the first was the M&S TV that also shipped both high value items.
Google Daydream is a good slightly cheaper alternative than Gear VR, as it doesn't need the additional sensors or provide controls on the headset, as it only supports a few phones with good enough sensors in them, and provides a separate handheld controller, similar to the newest Gear VR.
I've had a small go on it and it seems awesome.
Does anyone have any recommendations for a controller and games?
I don't have an S7 until the first week of July so I can wait...

As far as I'm aware it works with both S8 and S8+ as long as device holder slide is in correct position, A for S8+ and B for S8
The newer 2017 version comes with a small controller/remote I think.

I was assured I would receive the headset by Monday. I recommended this deal to mates who wouldn't sign up as website wasn't secure. They are kicking themselves now.
The picture in the article was from gazz1a who clearly stated that he picked his up in store and ordered 3 days before HUKD got a hold of it.
