I think sky have put the rope round their own necks by disabling the sideload option on their Roku boxes. Most people were using them as Plex streamers with occasional Now TV use however recent changes are causing people to bin their boxes, myself included.

Thankyou. Got the last one in Sunderland. Now, as I use Plex, I can put the last of my Now TV boxes that Sky "updated" in the bin....

PLUS the these original ROKU Boxes are NOT directly heavily subsidised either! (unlike that of what the NOW TV/re-Branded ROKU Boxes are ... )

I assume you are referring to the fact that Roku supply the underlying hardware and software for Now TV boxes. That is very different from supporting their own branded boxes.

What with these. Got Netflix on modern TV'S and a Now TV box. And a WD TV box to put USB sticks in myself. What do I need this for ? They seem popular, I dont know what else this does other than what I got ? Thank you :smiley:

Imagine you didn't have a tv with netflix, or a now tv box, or a WD TV box that you could put USB sticks in. Then imagine you wanted one box that you watch now tv, amazon prime and Netflix on.
That's why they are popular - nothing else let's you do everything in one.

Be aware that Roku appear to have abandoned the UK market. None of the current gen models have been released here.

These aren't as restricted as the Now TV boxes. You can get Netflix and other apps on this that you can't get on the Now TV box.
