Despite the heat this post received you are the only one who actually confirmed ordering! Can only think to suggest contacting Game - maybe they emailed the NowTV pass details? Maybe they refunded £18 'cos they don't have any passes!? I do not know sorry. :disappointed:

also, the digital foundry article was written before boost mode was rolled out - might be a factor?

Yes really, as others have pointed out VR is improved with the Pro, I certainly see a difference in a number of games

Well I can only trust my eyes mate and there was noticeable improvement. I know this as i was quite disappointed with Driveclub initially and there is now a sharpness to text and focal points that was not there before. Digital Foundry is great and all but in this case all I can say is that I can say there is an improvement

Got a Pro today - 4k tv coming next Sat - and differences are marginal. Horizon looked great before and still looks great however I noticed a great improvement in VR. Driveclub and Arkham looked noticeably clearer and i was able to read menus and gain focus easier than before. Had I not been buying a new telly I doubt I would have upgraded though.

Digital Foundry did a comparison on DriveClub VR (PS4 vs PS4 Pro) and apart from a very slight improvement to the reflections on the roof of the cars................there was NO difference.
Some games are better, DriveClub however is not one of them.

It's not such a big step up from the normal PS4 that they can increase the graphical fidelity AND raise the resolution. It's really only one or the other. And since the PS4 Pro is being pushed as a "4k console", most developer are opting to increase the resolution to 4k (or close to) rather than improve textures, lighting, etc.
So unless you have a 4k TV, the PS4 Pro isn't really worth it.

Its a better console for sure, no argument there. Just cracks me up when people say some games in VR look 'noticeably clearer', when in fact they don't.
As I said, there are some games that are better in VR (super sampling, better textures etc), DriveClub is pretty much exactly the same.

There are other improvements to take into consideration - it has optical out which the Slim does not, it works on 2.4 and 5 Ghz wifi channels which the Original does not AND it is bigger than either so you can rest more stuff on top! :man:

Are there any good deals for normal PS4/PS4 Slim for casual console player like me?
I'd be OK with a refurb if it's under 150.

What is the trade in price at game for the normal PS4 [1GB] when putting it towards the pro?

like £110 which is pap - try and gumtree it for more. they don't price match cex anymore either.
edit - £110 Is for the 500gb model, 1gb will obviously be higher

I have bitten at this price but there are rumors flying a new version of the pro is releasing with 4k bluray player. Not that I want one but this model will drop more if it's true!

It is true that there is a rumour going round to that effect, however it is not true. I have it on good authority that there is a 50% likelihood of there being some truth to that. :smirk:

Personally I'd take the extra warranty from JL over those extras.

No known issues or reports of problems so is a worthy gamble I'd say that's unlikely to come back to bite you

Is there a good summary somewhere of the benefits of a PS4 Pro? I own an old launch model and its getting a bit loud especially when certain games are on so concerned about its longevity and wondering if there's any benefit to the Pro if I'm not using a 4K TV?

I went with this deal in the end. Almost went with Argos as you get a £10 gift card back but, the game I was going to buy to make use of the voucher, was still cheaper elsewhere anyway, so made sense to get Infamous the the Now TV pass . Instore deal as well as online for those impatient people .

Well worth getting the Pro to fully unleash the power of PSVR

Really? all my pals that go the psvr have since sold it, was looking forward to psvr myself but couldn't afford it after having to buy a new ps4 as my older model broke.
Think id rather keep the slim and put the cash towards a scorpio tbh.
