Awesome. And I'm sure you'll be happy. But others with the budget who want to experience the best possible PS4 experience TODAY (and for those next two years) will buy this and then upgrade to the PS5. I've not got one (yet) but heat added for price given current market price, and not based on my own budget and future upgrade ideas.

As a mid-gen refresh they may end up selling more units than the ps4 pro, but i'm not saying they'll catch up to sony and win the generation, so don't get your panties in a twist. If the price is right it well just sell decently for them. If it's not it wont.

MS get the price right they have a winner...
No, they've lost this gen already.
No one really wants or cares about the Scorpio now. It's too niche.

No, they're console exclusive. But that's the confusion with Scorpio...are you the market they're going for? or is it those gamers who care about performance but dont want the hassle of a gaming pc? They should be targeting everybody. I think it will out perform the 1070 simple because it's so custom built and a console is a closed platform you're able to push further within its limitations. But it wont be by much enough to tempt you over. I think they're banking more on the service...games with gold, games on demand etc

Except that none of these games are really exclusives. That's the problem with Xbox One. The only console exclusive game I've had any interest in is Halo 5, which I enjoyed and played to death. All of Microsoft's exclusives I can now play on my much more capable PC. Even with the Scorpio, its performance is going to be very similar to the GTX 1070 I have already running Microsoft's games. So as much as I like the hardware (and the hardware DX12 is an amazing idea), there's also little point in getting it without any console exclusives, which is why I'm still hanging onto my PS4.

Xbox one is the weaker console...but there's no denying it had the stronger lineup that first year, and the greater console exclusive support those first two years. People seem to forget this.Sony also do indeed show titles years in advance...I personally dont expect to be playing God of war, Last of us, or even Detroit, this year. First party games they have coming the remainder of the year? Uncharted add on? Hints of spider man? MS will no doubt have sea of thieves, crackdown, and state of decay hitting this year...those, along with halo wars, four exclusives (assuming they all come out) in 2017 isn't bad for a console with 'no games'.
I also think there seems to be a double standard with the 'press' (and gamers) when it comes to what is actually exclusive and what is console exclusive for the ps4 (nier, street fighter, no mans sky etc all hitting PC too) yet jump all over Xbox with their 'exclusives'...maybe rightly so, as 'play anywhere' does seem completely counter productive when the aim is to sell consoles. Their big money is indeed made from Gold subs...the pc market isn't producing that, so why offer gamers even less reason to buy xbox hardware...and therefore Gold subs? Its all sounds like something that's come from higher up than the xbox division. And it adds to the confusion of who Scorpio is actually for? they tell us its for the hardcore gamer, the ones who love their premium products...surely they're also the ones that invest in gaming pc's. Then again, how many decent gaming pc's capable of 4k gaming can be had for around the £400 mark...which surely MS can't afford the luxury of going over when they're so far behind in the race.
Personally, even without great exclusive support, if MS get the price right they have a winner...the real big games left this year are all multiplatform...who wouldnt want to play the very best versions of games like Red dead? All comes down to price though for me too.

Yeah i do, why would they need to price match the pro price if it's superior hardware? no point.
As i said, they will likely compete with the Pro with a non 4k drive, that's my guess. We will have to wait and see

You think MS will price their new console around £150 more than the PS4 Pro? Nah, I just can't see that personally. If Sony drops the price of the PS4 Pro a little before launch (just to derail/steal some launch hype) it could be around £200 cheaper. It's already £345 with a game, so entirely possible. So you could buy a Pro and One S for the price of the Scorpio in that case.

Scorpio will be around 500 quid i expect, they may have different versions, perhaps hopefully one without a 4k drive, as i refuse to pay extra for one. If so, that may be 400?? maybe? who knows....

MS had a terrible launch. So much bad press (always online, no used games etc). Plus they launched a weaker console for £80 more than the competition. They basically gave Sony the platform they needed for a great launch.
PS4 has loads more exclusive games coming in the next year or two. So much diversity and new IPs, too! Something I feel MS have struggled with this gen. Several of Sony's executives have been multi-million sellers, so may have done better than you think.
With the Scorpio, the price is vital. It's a harder sell because you can play their games on a PC if you have one, or the much cheaper XBox One S, if you don't prioritise graphics etc.
Having said that, £400 or less and I'm there day one. Anything more and I'll just wait for a price drop, and if that doesn't happen sharpish, I'll just wait for the PS5 in 2019/2020.

Yeah I get that I wouldn't have even considered the pro if it wasn't for all the exclusives which look great persona nioh hzd the last of us to name a few I have and will keep my Xbox but they need to pick up on the exclusives front with the launch of Scorpio fast

Funny isn't it...first two year Xbox one had the first party support whilst ps4 was pretty bare...got away with it because it had the best versions of 3rd party support. Now Sony discovered the trick of announcing games years in advance and suddenly Xbox has no games...what first party games are out this year for ps4? What first party for Xbox one?..importantly, what's coming in the next two years for Xbox?
Also...it'll have the best 3rd party versions of the games...this has helped people adopt ps4 more than their first party games...which have never sold in great numbers.
But yes, it all comes to the right price point for Scorpio. And of course it would help if they leave the 'play anywhere' incentive behind. They want to sell gold subs at the end of the day...unless the plan is to charge for gold on windows again I can't see how it will benefit Xbox division long term

The PS4 "Pro" isn't really an "upgrade" if you think about, especially if you already have a PS4. Its basically a Proto-type for the PS5 hence why they Purposely left out certain features out of the PS4 PRO..Like the VR, the PS4 Pro is a market ploy and filler to milk this Current-Gen and squeeze more money from the consumer lol.
Sony being Sony, I wouldn't be surprised if they released a PS4 Pro slim with the 4K Blue-Ray and extra features. Games like Skyrim & The Witches are NOT going to enhance your PS4 "experience" with a frame rate of 12fps I'm just saying.

Scorpio looks great. Wonder how much it'll cost though. Surely not above £400 - double the price of the XBox One S would be suicide for a console with no exclusive titles (just prettier version of XBox One games).
