I know Shopto had these a pound or so cheaper with a code a few weeks back but not a bad price for the newer V2 model without a code.

Never had any issues with either v1 or v2 controllers. V1's battery life is pants though.

I've only had one DS4 in 18 months, only issue I have is the battery life is starting to take a noticeable drop. You guys most really mistreat your controllers.

Why would you even try to snap it? It's hard to take your review of the controller seriously when you freely admit to actually trying to break the thing.

Worst pad I've ever had they are absolutely terrible IMO. I've been through about 15 and every one has issues. The main issue is the analog sticks feel like they are going over a bump mainly when pushed up or down, they are also sticky and not smooth to move mainly on the left stick. Really surprised more people don't complain about this it drives me nuts.

I have problems with the dpad where its lost that clicky press for the left and down buttons and if I press them occasionally it moves by itself. Its so annoying. I think I've been through at least 6 of them now. PS4 needs that Vita dpad as that dpad was perfect.

Are you talking about V2 or in general the DS4? I've got only V1s and didn't have any problem after two years so far. Just recently the left stick on my controller is a bit clicky and that happened after playing disc jam! I was looking to buy a V2 but not sure if the build quality on them is as good as the V1 or not?
OP, this is good deal. Heat applied earlier.

Still got my original controller that came with the launch PS4. Suprised you've been through 15. However I have an issue of a dead spot in my 20th Anniversary controller.

All of the PS4 controllers I've had problems with the dpad. Its annoying as I mostly play fighting games and its impossible to play them with the left stick to control. I'm getting fed up as I feel like I'm wasting money buying these.

You said you applied force on your controller that made the other break. You pretty much saying you were anticipating willingly breaking it.
That being said, a stress test makes a review hard to take serious?

The one I have now when I press R3 its like the first time I've pressed it every time, it feels like I have to brake it free if that makes sense. Also the Right trigger is so easy to press its like the spring is really weak which is not good for racing games. When I move the left stick its so damn sticky when moved from centre, again this sucks for racing when I'm making little adjustments its really distracting and just ruins it tbh. I hate this pad its just pure garbage.

A few weeks ago I bought a cheap pad from Argos for £6... Its called PowerA air flow for PS3... It's honestly the best pad I've ever had, 10x better than DS4. Sticks are butter smooth and buttons feel nice, I like it that much I went back and bought the remaining stock haha. Wish I could use it on PS4.

V2. V1 wasn't much better I went through about 8 of those, had problem's with R2 and again the sticks. The main issue with V1 was the R2 been at about 80% sensitivity.. I only found out I had the issue on my first pad when I played Driveclub. DS4 is just a very cheaply made pad and V2 is even worse.

Did you get all those replacements for free or did you pay?
LuFc6686
9 Apr 171#11
Free I just took them back to Argos and they were swapped over, sometimes I would just get a refund. Twice though I just snapped the pad in frustration, thing with the V2 they are extremely easy to brake due how cheaply made they are. This £6 pad I bought from Argos I wanted to test how strong it was... I put the same amount of pressure on it that snapped the DS4 and it didn't even make a sound haha. The only pad I've had that had 0 issues was the 20th anniversary one, I traded it in with my original ps4 to get a C chassis... Biggest mistake I ever made lol.

I think you best read what I said again.... I didn't try to break it I did break it... I didn't say oh let's see how easily I can snap it lmfao.. I got annoyed and broke it. And it wasn't a review in the slightest. Just pointing out the many flaws.

Damn! I still have my original pad with my launch day PS4 and still going strong and in great condition.
For me the DS4 is the best controller Sony has ever made. I guess we are all different though.

Are you sure you never threw your controller before these issues that you speak of started to appear? If you get angry enough to snap a controller, it wouldn't surprise me that you would throw it as well.

Having owned a PS4 since release and an Xbox One for six months I can say that the Xbox one controller is superior in every way. The joysticks are made of a much better hard wearing material, they are better placed, the triggers work better without sticking like the PS4 ones did almost immediately. Sony really dropped the ball on these. And having seen how the joysticks on my PS3 have perished and gone all sticky they need to up their game on the next console 's controller. They should cost about half the price. :disappointed:

I have to say the xbox controller does feel more ergonomic to hold but the ds4 doesn't make my hands cramp like the xbox ones after a period of time playing.
And as for the robustness of the controllers, I have 4.two for each ps4 and none of them have ever missed a beat, peeled, broken or malfunctioned. The batteries in the eldest controllers are suffering but in my experience they have been consistent and performed as expected

Shopto website is the so terrible BTW. I'm sure I had an account registered with them so when I try to login it doesn't even say whether the account exists or not and just takes me back to the login page without any message. When I try to register it won't work either. What a joke of a website.

I'm with you. Never had any problems with any of mine. I have had several variants, colours, camo, black ops 3, over the course of the PS4's lifespan and none have ever let me down. One did start to lose the sharpness of a new one so I traded it into Game pricematching CEX for £30 having already bought and stowed a brand new camo one for £32 I believe - I miss the CEX price matching days.

Its definitely the most comfortable and egonomic controller Sony has made as the other PS controllers were awful but I'm not a fan of the overall build quality and the battery wasting gimmicks like the touchpad, speaker and lightbar. Other than that I am happy with it. I still remember how bad it felt using the PS3 controller as it felt like torture playing with that.

Does anyone have a link to a similarly priced coloured controller? I've been looking around recently for red or gold (as my other controller is the limited edition PS1 version) and I cannot find them for below £40.

If your controllers are breaking and you're still within the warranty period, get them replaced by Sony.
The left analogue stick on my v2 (5 months old) stopped registering upwards movement. Filled in the form, sent it using the pre-paid postage label, and received what looks like a brand new replacement within 5 days.

I agree... if you have gone through 20+ pads then that must be something you are doing with the pads... I have four V1 pads - all work perfectly fine and are regularly used (we have multiplayer gaming nights) - so breaking that many seems excessive to me

The online form (https://hardware.support.eu.playstation.com/#/) takes no more than a couple of minutes to fill in.
