Despite the pic it's a pendant not ceiling. Delivery is potentially long but a good deal to expand Hue.

Great price for black version.
If you choose the white colour it will give you an idea of the actual product.
Wish white was on sale!

Are these the type that can be height adjusted? The cable seems to have a fair bit of slack in the white version pics.

Yes they can be height adjusted.

Pleased to be of service to some of you guys. First time I posted a link but after watching the page myself thought I should give something back.

do u need a bridge with this?

If you want to remotely control it / use Echo / mobile app then yes.
Spriggsy
8 Apr 17#13
It's not essential you can just use with remote supplies. Bridge required for smart control.
steveex
8 Apr 17#14
Ideally yes, but it'll work quite happily with the dinmer alone.
A bridge improves functionality exponentially however if scenes, timers and automation integration are your thing.

Only once as it is Not push/pull. Would be all over this if it were the white one. Heat added.

Great price, I’ve ordered!

I ordered 2! And I don't even know where to put them.
Will they be too heavy to hang from the kind of ceilings new buildings have these days? I don't want to bring the ceiling down!

At 6kgs a piece, i personally wouldn't remotely trust fast-fix plasterboard fixings. Joists or battens is the order the day here.

55 W might be a misprint, shows as 39 W on the Philips website.

I have already 2 pendant lightbulbs (the default ones the property came with) so I was thinking of replacing those with the Philips ones. How do I know if it is going to be safe?
The current pendants are just a silly cable with a lightbulb at the end... very low cost

Ah. So you can set the height when you install it, but stuck at that height afterwards. Still too good to miss I guess.

Assuming the wiring is OK, turn off the lighting circuit(s) at the consumer unit and undo the two screws holding the ceiling rose up. If you work with tools, you can feel whether the two screws are in timber or not as you undo them. If you are unsure, release the screws, drop the ceiling rose down a couple of inches and use a long thin screwdriver inserted into the hole where the cables arrive to have feel about for a joist.

I just received an incorrect pricing email from Amazon for this; however they will honour it for 1 unit - which is fine by me as I only bought one.
It's stuff like that, that really makes me love Amazon - I have only ever had great customer service from them

Lucky you. I have had many an item cancelled with differing reasons or excuses.
The best recently being a car seat that was discontinued and the supplier could therefore not get any more for me.
Was back in stock the next day at a higher price. When i asked if they could then send it they said certainly at the higher price.
A tool bag last week cancelled because of 'every attempt made to get stock was made but unfortunately they cannot locate anymore'
Was actually in stock at the same time as they cancelled at a higher price.
They could not reinstate my cancelled order and they do not price match with themselves. It was like talking to a brick!
Refunds that they said they processed hadn't been refunded.
They have removed refunding price differences from their policy recently.
My opinion is that their customer service has taken a real nose dive over the last few years.
Incidentally i too received the 'we will honour one message' and yes its due to arrive 25 apr -19th May.
When searching now it says this item is not available in black as pendant.
I fully expect to receive a message in a month or so saying they can no longer provide it, followed shortly after by the re introduction on their site at the higher price. Hopefully i will be proved wrong.

Likewise I received the email from Amazon with incorrect price. Slightly gutted as I ordered two for the hallway. Looks like I'll have to re-think where I was going to put it.

My bet is they got so many orders they can't fulfill them and will try to cancel one way or another a big chunk of those... :disappointed:

Just an update that mine is arriving today, so in the nicest possible way(!) I hope you are wrong, and everyone who got their order in gets theirs too!

It also bugs me that Amazon change their prices massively and multiple times even in a short a space as a few hours, then try and cancel orders based on incorrect prices!
