It definitely does work via that link that's how the vouchers are configured. If you can confirm what item you're having an issue with we can check but as long as you've accessed via this link - perhaps having first cleared your cookies - it'll work. Also worth trying copying the URL into your address bar incase this page is changing the URL formatting.

Is the photo of 'Philips Hue White and Color Ambiance Starter Kit UK (B22) *V3' not a picture of the 2nd gen? Just looks different to the screw in bulbs which have a white body instead of silver.

Didnt work on the GU10 bulbs starter kit, but added a discount on the dimmer switch i also added only. So maybe a problem with the GU10 kit link

Doesn't work on the £59.98 starter set despite advertising the discount but does work on the £99.98 starter set, its a bit misleading if only some products work when it implies that all products are included.

I agree. I'm after the bayonet colour starter kit but it keeps rejecting the discount code. Annoying seeing as the code is advertised on the website!

Can confirm the code works on the white starter kit as linked above. It works on all 5 starter kits, couldn't be bothered to prove more, but Mr BT Shop is right, it works.

Shame the E27 Ambiance bulbs I would have picked up are a fiver more than Amazon's BAU price to start with, so don't even break even with the code :/

Indeed I have now a collection on any of these converters SES GU10 B22 E27 and the small B..something...

Anyway, a couple of thing to be aware with converters

Some E27 bulb socket (where the bulb goes) could be a bit long or narrow so make sure that's not the case if you want to buy some 'slimmer' version of the converter
Don't get the GU10 and try to use it with normal lamps as it's too focused and I find them not bright enough overall - though they do obviously work.
A converter will add at least an inch or so to the overall height of the bulb so make sure it doesn't make the bulb pokes out

Agreed, only worth the while if you are starting up or wanting to buy quite a few of the bulbs. I don't have any of the colour ones either as I dont really see me wanting to be in certain shade of red or green or blue....
You could however sync it with movies which I suppose is one way to enhance your movie experience..

If you want to go further into home automation inc security, Smartthings would be a good one to go as it runs both zigbee and zwave - most of my stuff are on the latter like dimmers and door lock and thermostats

The picture on the site shows a screw cap but I'm sure B22 is supposed to be the normal bayonet?

There is at least a £3.49 delivery charge on top but, in most cases, the 20% off outweighs that.

Code didn't work for me so I removed everything from my basket, used the link posted, and the items suggested using the code and it was accepted. Bonus £9 for being a BT employee. :smile:

Items are full price, but the 20% does just take it below other, cheaper stores - even with the added delivery.

Not a great deal but still the best prices out there at the moment if you need to get your HUE on right now.

But if you are willing to wait around on the HUE, you will get this stuff cheaper eventually. Argos, Currys and Amazon usually coming up with excellent deals 2-3 times a year - most notably black Friday.

it is - just set up with Hue App first - try not to have same name room as you will have to group it again on Alexa

Then on Alexa, add Hue Skill (link accordingly) and then Discover Devices - then group those that you want to have voice command together - ie, I have two dinning room lights with Hue, so on Alexa I created a room called, surprise surprise, Dinning Room with the two Hue bulbs in question included and save et voila. "Alexa, Turn Dinning room lights ON"

If you have a 'Dinning Room' set up on Hue, it would get exported to be a device/scene under the skill and Alexa would get confused "I've found multiple devices under that name" and might ask you "which one do you want?"

Only worth it if you already have invested in the Hue system because the Wi-Fi sockets and bulbs are already starting to come out and don't need a hub.

What do these very expensive light bulbs do that one from say Poundland doesn't ?

Ordered some of these, code worked fine. But order has now been stuck on processing for two days (payment/security check completed fine). I have a feeling that they don't really have enough of these in stock and that I'm going to end up waiting weeks for my starter kit. Can't even buy additional bulbs elsewhere until it turns up.

Just had a horrendous experience with BT Shop. I would think twice before ordering if I were you.

Their security team called me to do some further checks, which is understandable. After tons of questions (including my personal website, why is there no content there?), they told me that they want bank statement + passport + driving license, if I wanted to proceed with my order. Tried to talk with many people but all said the same, so I went ahead and did what they asked.

To my great surprise, today I received an e-mail saying that my order could not be completed and that I'm forever banned from shopping from BT Shop cause the security check failed! I immediately phoned them and they told me that the e-mail I used was not recognised by the system (I use my own domain) and that I cannot have it delivered into my business, only at my home. But my home is my business too, so how on earth do I solve this?

Can they not just accept another email? Like yahoo or gmail?! Sounds harsh to get banned cos you have your own email domain....

The thing is, I'm using this e-mail with BT for many years now and nobody had any issues with that. I placed the order with BT Shop last Wed so the whole process lasted almost a week... just to say: sorry, you're banned forever cause our system thinks you're not legit enough. Such a waste of time really. I had to talk with so many people and eventually nobody was able to help. They were treating me like I was some sort of dodgy criminal trying to scam them.

I got really **** off and phoned them to terminate every service I was using from BT. When they asked why, I told them what happened and other than being really apologetic and offering me discounts, they were unable to help cause it's a different department. Honestly, I don't want to ever deal with BT and/or its subsidiaries again.
