okay but not that great, you can get it for this price with a proper airline if you look out for it.
Tiks to Australia often pop up for £500-550 return on thai airways for example

Never heard anyone describe Thai airways as a proper airline

Tie that in with some JetStar, Scoot or AirAsia action and you could get as far as Oz with some very reasonable prices

It's only a good deal if you don't need checked baggage both ways. Though, this is one of the few sales at this time to cover Christmas and early 2018 travel.

It's good for a 2-3 days. I certainly wouldn't recommend going there for a 2 week holiday. It's incredibly expensive, in particular hotels and drinks. Food can be reasonable, but can also cost as much as Europe.
The flight price isn't particularly great as people have already mentioned. But if you're just using Singapore as a hub, it's great because air asia can take you to some very exotic and beautiful places in Indonesia and Malaysia, where money goes much further.

Bit of a marketing ruse here not as good as it seems check the real cost first.

exactly, prices are generally OK depending on where you go, but booze is extremely expensive!!
I never liked the place - I guess if you want a very mild, westernized introduction to SE Asia its good. But there are much, much more interesting places to visit nearby

Clearly you've never flown with them. Perhaps you haven't heard much about them because they are based in Asia? I would honestly rate them right at the top as far as comfort, service and food goes (Qantas being my gold standard).
Better than these I've flown:
Emirates
Etihad
Virgin
KLM
Lufthansa
Malaysia
Air Italia
and of course all the budget and regional carriers in europe, asia, australia & america I've been on...

I only looked at your top 3 and then laughed! You will find Emirates, Etihad and Virgin have and all won more awards than Thai and board more than 3 times the amount of passengers. And yes I've flown on them all, Singapore being one of the best!
