I've been into their shops and 90% of the consoles have the door compartment missing that covers the GameCube controller ports. I'll never understand why because once you've set a console up you just leave it there. Touching it and moving it should be kept to a minimum.
Mine arrived - needed a damn good clean up and it was acceptable.
Can't believe they didn't even bother to wipe off the residue from grubby little mitts of whatever snotty kid had been using it. Refurbished my backside.

Yeah. I use it in NTSC mode for the 720p.

Have you softmodded your Xbox?

Yes, hence why the XBOX looks better - because it can use 720p, and the Wii cannot.

It's great for emulation.
Though I still prefer my soft modded XBOX with larger hard drive.
It just looks better at 720p, and seems to run the games better too.
Coin-Ops and Visionary are superb too.
Plus it can play XBOX games, but not Game cube or Wii games of course.

Wii doesn't output 720p.. best it can manage is 480p with component.

They have black ones on their eBay for £23.99 if anyone is interested.
Seriously - given the hysteria around the nes classic - the Wii is the best console for emulation of 8/16 bit, especially using component cables on a flatscreen.. the value is in the classic controllers btw. http://modmii.comuf.com/home.html

to plug in a controller you need to remove the cover to easily plug in controller/mem card (sitting horizontally)
easy to lose probably, mines just sitting loose beside it

If you used your Wii for GameCube games you would probably have at least a memory card left in the top of the console more or less permanently, if not a couple of controllers as well, and the flap is designed to be easily removed so you can take it off and leave it off, rather than having it just hanging off the side, as obviously it won't close if anything is plugged into the top. So I'm guessing most of the missing ones are from people who have removed it and then just lost it, which would be easily done unless you put it in a safe place and remembered where it was years later (I kept mine in the Wii box so I knew where it was and could put it back on before I sold it, but then I'm probably in the minority of people who keep boxes for everything and store them safely).

Because when you plug the GameCube controllers in you need to remove it, and after two years they've always been thrown away by mistake.
