Im just gonna wait until it goes down in price more. If I have to wait a few months or so for a better deal it will be worth it. I just dont feel the Switch should be valued 250 mark and upwards...overpriced for what it is. Plus the games are like 50 quid lol. I can wait

Heads up to get the extra £20 off for anyone who ordered when Amazon dropped the price on back order for the Neon Switch to £256 and £258 (both posted on here).
guys, i got it from amazon for £256, then used my gift cards to reduce it to £131,
i only have zelda. would it be wise to wait? or should i leave the order.
please advise

While I think the Switch had a very poor start software wise and remains a bit under powered as a home console, it will in time no doubt benefit from many fantastic exclusive Nintendo releases and if you can get one right now for £131, provided there isn't anything else you would rather use your credit on, I'd definitely keep the order as I doubt you will see it any cheaper, except possibly bundle deals at the end of the year and even they won't beat £131 with your gift cards....

Depends how much you want it, from the sounds of it your not that bothered so you could use your vouchers towards something more useful around your needs.

Coming from someone who's bought a switch at launch
I had an amazing time with Zelda and got 50+ hours with it and the occasional game of Bomberman and Shovel Knight when friends are around. But I have not used it since I completed Zelda just due to the lack of single player games.
Mario Kart, Splatoon and Puyo Puyo Tetris is out soon but those are more catered for Multiplayer and co op. I don't think no decent single player games are out soon so bare that in mind. I've actually gone back to my Vita just to finish off Persona 4 and I wish the switch had some games like that because I could see myself playing on the go and docking it back at home.
But if you got a lot of mates always around and do enjoy co op it would be a good time to pick it up.

Sent my Joy Cons back to Nintendo for repair and they didn't ask me any questions. Got them back fully repaired a week and a half later.

But if you order from Nintendo, you will get 2 years warranty instead of one, isn't it better? trying to decide.

You get two either way as Nintendo will give you the 2 year warranty.

As mentioned the manufacturer warranty will be two years regardless and Amazon provide about the best after sales service there is IMHO and will often accept returns beyond the first year they have to.
Aside from that provided you aren't unduly rough with it, when using as a tablet, there is very little to go wrong in a Switch as one of the main failure points in traditional consoles is the mechanical hard drive and the optical drive, which the Switch doesn't even have...

Nintendo ask a lot of questions on a return and they won't change for dead pixels.
Amazon ask no questions, they just send you a replacement.

Heated as it's at least a saving over RRP, which up until now everywhere seems to be sticking to. Was hoping the Amazon price dropping might have knocked down the third party seller price or there might have been a warehouse one a bit cheaper but sadly not, least atm.
As I really don't care for the tablet functionality (I don't travel enough to make any use of it) the biting point for me would be no more than £200 and I already have it's killer app (BOTW) on Wii U but no doubt I will end up getting it sooner or later...

the only 'essential' should be a decent quality glass screen protector, after that a case if you intend taking it out with you.

Pretty much everything you need, if you plan on using it a lot in docked mode and on your TV rather than handheld, maybe consider getting a Pro Controller if you can get one for a decent price. It's a really nice controller and personally better than the joy cons in the holder

Zelda £35
1-2-Switch £20 (still too much!)
SnipperClips £12
Will pick up PuyoPuyo Tetris for £24 tomorrow and Mario Kart digitally for £25 on Friday
If you shop savvy then you really don't need to pay £50 a game 'lol'
It might last a but longer than the Vita. it is a handheld console after all...

I've not paid anything like £50 for my games, Zelda £38 after a £10 Prime Now code (with a trail Prime account) and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for £35 using the £2 off pre orders and the £5 Amazon app discount code. Snipperclips £17 and I'm looking at Lego City Undercover from Base at £36

Haha I know right :stuck_out_tongue: it's still a great deal of course but maybe not as good as people think. If your interested in buying one, it's still £10 cheaper than the bundle deal. Just people might see this and buy it without really thinking it through

its a good deal yes, but before jumping for it, remember Zelda and Mario Kart are both £42+ so you are still looking at over £300 in total.

Get your orders in fast as they did this last week and it lasted about 30 minutes.
It's back order so you have time to think later if it's the wrong decision.
Edit: Also considering the deal of the day, this is a much better deal.
