Heat for the price, but I'm expecting the 2DS XL to be slightly cheaper, with some better processing power to boot. Obviously, no stereoscopic 3D, but who actually cares about that gimmick? I've had a 3DS since launch and had the 3D turned on for no more than a couple of hours total. It doesn't add anything to the experience, except occasional lag in my opinion.

Had 3D since launch too, always have 3D turned on for games that use it, wouldn't get a 2DS for that reason. Theres only a few games where it adds to gameplay though admittedly.

Sounds like the new 2DS XL will boast similar power to the new 3DS, so it can run SNES games and Xenoblade, and should comfortably run the likes of Hyrule Warriors.

Looks like the new 2ds folds. But I'm still happy with mine.

Thanks OP, ordered. Would have preferred the orange one but not worth an extra £50. Heat from me

Not by much, it's $150, which is around £116, add 20% VAT, then we are looking at £139.99, for a tenner extra you are better off going for the New 3DS XL, it has 3D, and looks better.

My son got a new 3DSXL for Christmas. He's ten. He absolutely loves it. I wouldn't mind a go...

I was a little disappointed in how expensive 3DSs were but there's a fair amount of good titles on it. It seems like a 2DS would be a better buy imo since they're half the price or see how the 2ds xl goes.

The new 2ds XL looks to be a fair bit lighter than both the 3ds XL models - would be tempted to upgrade from my old 3ds XL which is pretty heavy.

Maybe wait for the brand new New Nintendo 2DS XL. The new Nintendo 3DS XL is getting old.
These names are so ridiculous, it cracks me up.

I agree, especially the 'New' prefix. If they replace the 2DS again they will have to call it the 'New New' or 'Newer' 2DS.
