This just hit my email and it's £20 cheaper than at the Apple Store for the new 2017 iPad.
If you are in the market for a new iPad and can live with the compromises in this one then it may be worth considering (assuming you have Costco membership). It's not a massive saving but...
This might help with the comparison to the older Air 2 (by far my goto tablet of choice) but it looks like Apple are not selling that anymore.
No idea what you are trying to say in your first sentence:(

I have the Air 1 which I assume also has this air gap and my friend has the Air 2 which is laminated I believe , I haven't seen any improvement in the 2's screen at all and actually what I didn't like about the Air2 was the sound - it distorted so why is this such a deal breaker? The only negative I can see is the thickness, which is probably why the Air 2 distorts easily. The plus is better cpu and graphics and may have longer battery life - but until there are reviews everything is supposition.

Air gap = Not buying

It's not just ordinary air in that gap though, it's Apple air, big difference.

Exactly right. Used to use both at work and the newer Air 2 has touch ID.

Was really keep on this but just saw in In Store at Apple, did a compare Pro, Air 2 and iPad - the iPad is like ancient much thicker heavier display seemed worse, on the specs the Air 2 was £379 but processor was A8 vs A9.
All a bit of a cost reduced con but for anyone new to Apple appears a great budget buy - but unreality a souped up Air1 maybe not even that.

It's faster as it has a better chip than the air 2, screen is the non laminated one like the air and unlike the air 2, it's also cheaper than the air 2 which it replaced so it should get more updates out of it. Picked ours up today, faster than my sons air 2 and little difference in the screen, actually feels a better screen as well non of the annoying hollowness of the air 2 and a massive improvement over the old iPad we had.

have a look online its call new but its worst then ipad air  1 gen
No it definitely is as it's got an air gap like older pre air 2 iPads. All the reviewers have said that. It's actually priced quite well for an iPad but I think you're better buying iPad Air 2 from elsewhere. Yes it has older cpu and no Touch ID but the screen is the most important part of iPad. More so then even on a phone. I've got an iPad Pro and a iPad 3. I'm still perfectly happy using the 3 despite being slow but the screen tech is nowhere as good as Pro...hence buy an air 2 instead

You mean the "more easily repairable" screen? Yes, it's a little larger than the Air 2, more like the Air (which I have) and really makes very little difference.

When people mention this 'inferior screen' has anyone actually seen and used one? I assume not seeing as it's not even released yet so it's all assumptions at this time. I'm not saying it's not inferior but surely let's wait until someone can comment who actually has one. If this was so bad I honestly couldn't see Apple releasing it and pushing the advertising like they have been.

Nope iPad Air series is no longer. Its either iPad or iPad Pro.
Air 2 still appears to be better than this even though it's a slower CPU.

They've finished with the "Air" model. This is the new lower cost replacement which has a better processor than the Air 2 but has an inferior non fully laminated screen.

The video above says otherwise.
