1TB external backup hard drive with included backup software. Compatible with Windows 10. Marked down to £14.99. I don't know if it's nationwide or just my local store. I grabbed one and there is one left on the shelf. Possibly a wild goose chase. This was in the Wick, Highland store.
I did do a search first so hopefully not a duplicate offer.

So a guy buys an item from one of the most remote stores in the UK. Who then has no way to quantify the national stock holding or price and you vote cold.
I don't know about anyone else but I'm always prepared to add potential deals to my, 'keep an eye out list'. I've found many more items than had I not paid attention.

Bit unfair to mark cold. This is a deal site, just because there was only one left in this store doesnt make it a cold deal. Maybe more elsewhere and helps others to go searching for the deal.

What I can`t understand is how and why Tesco on odd occasions sell the odd 1tb drive at this sort of price. I have been lucky on 2 separate (wildly separate), occasions to buy a 1 tb drives at £13.(or thereabouts). 25% or 50% off makes some sense - 75% off is mind boggling - if we understood why this occurs perhaps our needs could be better served.!

I remember them selling this drive for £3.50 ish and they had only been released a few months and usb 3.0 was pretty new. Tesco pricing makes no sense. I'm not complaining as I have had some insane bargains from them. with these type of deals its usually better to ask them to check the store room, that's where I get most of them from.

blue-note
13 Apr 172#41
Well it's not laziness at all. I phoned the store, they confirmed the price was £58.99 so if the OP got it for £14.99 then it was definitely a yellow sticker item, so store specific.
ezzer72
13 Apr 171#42
It really is. How do you know that the staff member didn't think 'thanks for the heads up', and is now the proud owner of said drive?
Don't get me wrong, I think the staff deserve bargains, and truly hope that may be what happened, but the only way to try and get one is to get yourself to the store.

Because I got them to check a few random stores around me (south England) and as we originally thought that Wick had them discounted, got them to check there too. All the same £58.99. It's pretty simple.

Cracking deal for the OP but I visit HUKD when time allows, checking what's hot (globally than locally, although impossible to know at the time whether a local deal is national or not) for the day and get excited when I see a deal like this. Disappointment soon follows because if it's not available to be purchased at a discount price (the whole point of a deal), then it's time wasted, likely OOS due to limited numbers or lifted by staff before even posted.
HOT for the OP but voted cold, as it's not available. The "get deal" button becomes obsolete.
Also, it was a really kind gesture to grab the last one for a Hukker and sell it at cost. I hope the buyer adds a bit extra for being such a star.

It's really bad mate, if I really needed/wanted one of these I'd be practically begging the OP for help, and insisting he accepted a little something for his time and trouble.
The people who have asked him to help have almost expected him to provide them a service.
ezzer72
13 Apr 17#63
But no sign of him coming on here to express his gratitude. He won't be too busy posting deals, that's for sure.

Look I'm a stroppy gob on a stick who goes out of his way to offend people when the mood takes me but I have always been aware that good manners cost zilch and if someone does you a turn you express your gratitude so when you've asked someone to do you a turn and they do it you should be exclaiming your gratitude from the rooftops.
I'll make you 100% right with there being bundles of bods on here with this outlandish sense of self entitlement, but then again there's millions of them out in the real world too

I like the way this thread is going. Soon an angry mob of hotukdealers will form and march on Wick. Upon finding the OP they will rip the drive out of his hands, tar and goose feather him (Did you see what I did there?) and carry him on a plank around every single Tesco in the land making him read out the prices of every WD on every shelf.

I picked one of these up today from Failsworth, Manchester store. I took the newer version to customer service desk and asked if they had any other colours in stock (it was a blue one I wanted black or red) she came out with a black 1tb one and it went through at 14.00. They also had two 2tb purple ones for 39.00 each and I grabbed one of those too. Definitely worth asking in your local store as they don't have them on the shelves.
