Had a look on tesco mobile (which I am on anyway) and saw that i could upgrade to the G5 for £5.50/month (24 m contract) (HANDSET PRICE)
I realise that this isnt a deal for anyone midway through a contract. But if you are looking into a new contract and this phone, this could be the way to go. Been with tesco mobile for years and highly recommend it.
I personally went for the 2GB option, for £16.50 a month (5.50 + 11)
The minimum you can do is £14.50 a month (5.50 + 9) for 500mb/month but this isn't as good value for money
which ever data option you go for, the handset part always works out at £132 over 24 months (0% APR)
hope this helps

The title is very misleading. The deal is for a contract not the handset alone.

Tescos are brilliant though, great customer service , coverage and cheap tarrifs, I had a torrid time on EE and Three..never again.
But you're right, its personal experience, I'm sure tescos has its critics

And you think an MVNO of O2 is any better... honestly, every network has it's fans and critics, I would go direct with any of the big networks over any MVNO, even EE.

Disagree, can't find any 2Gb or more packages under £10 without resorting to dreaded EE/three networks.

Don't have a tantrum over it, just post with the same rules as everyone else. Others can't post and include cashback through Quidco/TCB in the price, so why is this any different...
And to be honest, the tariffs aren't that good - £149 for the phone and then a decent SIM only for under £10/month is better value and more flexible.

This is exactly the reason I didn't put the minimum contract price, because for the 500mb it isn't worth it, but for the 2gb tarrif for example's + £132 for the phone, hard to find a better deal
Anyway won't be posting again!. Just not worth the agro.

No, just update it to include the correct price (e.g. Minimum with phone and cheapest tariff included). It's only fair - people can't include cashback in pricing, and you shouldn't gloss over the fact a 24 month contract and corresponding credit check is required. The actual tariff is mediocre as well for the cost, as there are many better SIM only plans out there.

I really don't get why everyone is getting so upset about the title, just read the details and decide for yourselves if it's a good deal for you or not. Thanks for posting OP, don't let the whiners put you off!

Yes, just checked - price needs to be £348 as you don't get anything without committing to pay £14.50 for 24 months.

I am currently paying £7.50 a month, so this deal would cost me an extra £7 for 24 months which works out at £168 not £132
printer528
8 Apr 172#15
So the price of phone and contract is £348 (£14.50 x 24) not quite so much of a bargain as it first seemed.
djaydearz to printer528
8 Apr 17#16
But you would be paying the rest roughly anyway....whatever current plan you are on.
So if you out of contract, you only effectively are paying the additional £5.50 a month.
I will ammend the title...I really didn't think people would just assume you can buy a handset only from tesco (data free) on a 24 contract
(posting deals really isn't worth the effort)

Yet the price for the contract is not what you stated in the title, or is it? So do you not find that misleading? If the airtime portion of the plan could be cancelled like O2, then your deal would make sense. But that's not the case.

Except it really isn't. To get the handset for that price you HAVE to enter into a 24 month contract for an extra £11 a month. It is misleading, sorry.

Still misleading. Retentions deal. Upgrade deal. Should state handset price on top of line rental starting at.....

Neither Retentions deal or upgrade deal, and no initial handset cos.
Can't be bothered to spoon feed information to people, I thought it was self explanatory. Its £132 for the handset over 24 months.... The rest depends on how much data you require so it varies

Can I suggest you add "New pay monthly customers & those out of minimum term" to title? I suspect that you may also need to add the minimum allowances payment to the cost (i.e 1 month or 24, not sure if it works like o2 refresh).
