I'm more than a little tempted to buy this now, even though I don't have a Switch yet. The normal rule about games getting cheaper over time, doesn't always apply to Nintendo. Plus it's such an essential game, it's kind of like spreading the cost of purchasing the console.

Amazon are adamant that the pre order promise only covers the list price and not any promotions however the wording isn't clear. I've tried to get a refund but they insist it doesn't cover promotions so won't refund. I've sent them a formal complaint in writing but I don't think is any way they will budge on this.

It says if it's offered at a lower price. I have a screenshot of my basket showing I can buy it at £34.99. A promotion is offering it at a lower price.

Either way, I sent them an email explaining that if they don't refund the £5 I'll send it off to the ASA, as they're misrepresenting the price guarantee.

Pretty poor customer service. Seems crazy that people can pre order on Friday for £35 yet those who pre ordered weeks ago pay £40. The pre-order guarantee is pretty much broken as I can see and I have no idea why anyone would pre-order with them again!

To those customers who are being refused the £5 refund but like me, can't be bothered with the hassle of returning it to order again, just ask for the penny that you ARE entitled to. That'll keep them busy for a while.

That's the point, the pre-order promise doesn't specifically say they have to include any potential promo codes so they don't have to include them.

The pre-order promise only covers what is specifically laid out in the T&Cs

so i ended up cancelling my normal amazon order because i didn't want to wait til next week. ordered it from amazon prime now for £32 by setting a new account up, but first i had a chat with CS to check if prime now could offer it for the same price as my original order (to try and avoid the hassle of setting up a new account), they said no. Perhaps you can draw our attention to that fact - I couldn't see anywhere in their myriad of T&Cs where it expressly forbids using a voucher.

Go onto the screen where you're choosing a character, press the plus button, then press sl and sr at the same time on the joycon.

I'm not sure if it works, but your best bet would be to press both L & R to see if that pairs them.

Just got the Switch today :laughing: Does anyone know how you swap between single player mode with a joycon in each hand and multiplayer mode with one joycon held sideways? After I start multiplayer mode in a game the system just stays like that, is there a button combination I press to bring it back to single player mode? Or do I have to go into the controller pairing menu every time?

I know its optional and understand the underhand tactics amazon is using by offsetting their costs by making you fork out to supplement drivers wages, but, I dunno if they are delivering other stuff then I suppose it's not too bad, I was under the impression they just came out of their house to deliver mario and then went back home.

What I've done with the five kwid promo is use it against street fighter 2 bringing it to 28 kwid and then re ordered Mario kart for 35 kwid again with promo.

Just spoke to Amazon live chat, I had this pre ordered since March - I said I didn't want credit as there wasn't anything in particular I intended on buying soon so they gave me the cash refund in the end. I had £5 credit for my last issue with them so in all it's ended up costing £30, pretty happy with that.
