Went to local Lidl in Cardiff yesterday for the Barolo wine - none to be found. Asked an assistant if they had any and she said it had all gone by 8.20am. She said people were buying it in bulk. No doubt all the local restaurants will have stocked up to sell on at massive profit. She did suggest trying again today in case there was another delivery last night so I went to a different branch this morning at opening time but there was none to be had. Very disappointing.

Even if you are a teetotaler, this is a fantastic offer and worthy of massive heat for that offer alone.

1kg red onions for 39p?
etc, etc.

They may not be for yourself, they may not be for everyone, but they deserve heat.
Please post 'hotter' deals that are 'worthy' for this site.

Everything looks just average, courgettes 69p last week 29p in aldi.
Still cheaper than big boys but no longer a shop for hot deals imho.

In Aldi, courgettes were 29p for 500g pack whereas in Lidl it is 69p/kg.

The latest brilliant naming of what is a pork brawn in a jar as pork head terrine resulted simply in customers being put off and the product sitting on the Lidl's shelves weeks after the offer appeared. Well done Lidl product "translators" !!! :confused:

I do wander sometimes why this mainly advertising of Lidl every week is so popular on this site. Though it suppose to be about real special deals. Majority of what listed above may be at a good or reasonable price but hardly a bargain.
Wouldn't it be fair if all prices given above included also the previous higher price for the same product-assuming Lidl sells them at a different price at any time ??? isn't that the point of an offer? - not just a low-ish price for a product that can not be compared with any other seller. And if you "translate" some of the above prices into a comparable unit price, like a price per kilo, many are hardly a bargain al all :disappointed:

ps. always thought this Lidl marketing advert is put together by copying from somewhere of Lidl site but seeing "cougettes" I think not ;-) , though, if Lidl could label sprats as herrings (apparently specialist at Lidl think that sprat is a small herring I was told-what, like chicken is a small turkey??? I asked) or miss branding/ miss naming other "foreign" foods, perhaps "cougettes" do come straight from the "marketing" department of Lidl.

Heat for the effort, but the deals are rubbish compared to the weekend half price deals they used to have. Those deals would be a good incentive to drive a few miles to get them and you could make up a good family meal. The super weekend deals are a joke not worth the effort no link between the items at all unlike the old weekend half price deals
