Installed our TV yesterday. Its fantastic! The picture is outstanding, blown away. Was a little sceptical paying so much, but this is almost half its original price and its barely any different to the newer model. Its currently £1599 in Currys standard price with stock available. Definitely recommended!

Price has been reduced by £100. I had mine delivered last Saturday I just rang up and they price matched so I got £100 refund and so the TV was £1499 which is even better deal.

Did you have a problem manualy installing the update?
After downloading i cant unzip the folder without errors, i've downloaded it quite a few times now
winRAR says "unexpected end of archive" when i open from downloading and "the archive is currupt" when i try to extract from saving it
If i try and unzip using windows explorer it says that the folder's empty :smirk: but it isn't
EDIT: it wouldn't download properly using windows but i managed to download it another way instead, installed now :smiley:

Bought a c6v about 2 months ago. More than pleased (paid 1750 for mine.) with regards to the firmware updates I've found the online update doesn't work but you can manually download it from their site (yes, there was one last month.)

For those who have just bought an OLED or will buy an OLED from currys, make sure it's sealed like this one, it should have 2 or 3 plastic ties holding the box together
I payed for a new one from currys but they gave me an ex-display re-packaged, they selotaped the box together and the packaging inside was crumpled, had holes, plus there were other obvious signs

Don't just copy those settings, I did that last year with mine, it won't be the same for each panel, play around with whatever you think looks the best.

Flat's are most probably better because the top and bottom of the screen on curved TVs don't look straight, you need to be sat center of the screen and at the right height
but it's only a slight curve and you get 3D, choices choices

I believe it's due to the polarising filter needed to display 3D. It's why the new range removed 3D entirely so they could improve brightness on all sets.

Actually, the B6 now has a lower input lag at 28ms now with the recent update over the C6's 36ms and a higher peak brightness. So if you don't care about 3D and you use it mainly for gaming the B6 is a better option.

I'm pretty sure that the G6, E6 and C6 all have the LG chipset. The firmware version (updates etc) for all of these models are the same (noticed this when I updated my E6). The B6 is the only model with the Realtek chipset.

It's opinion led but I own both sets so I might be in a good position to help you.
KS7000 is real bang for buck, providing you spend most of your viewing time sat directly opposite it. When you come out of the 90 degree angle, the viewing aesthetic is hindered as it is with the techonogly it uses to light the panel. If your a console gamer, it's a great TV for the input lag and the colours do pop.
The LG is a great TV but more so for films and in my opinion nothing less than HD. It's great for horror films and I enjoyed Game Of Thrones with it (for the obvious reasons). The viewing angle is superior to the Samsung. It's not without its faults, for me was the software update not being rolled out to the UK (may have been done recently), the input lag from console fluctuated quite a lot and wasn't as impressive as the LG.
Samsung: Gaming, bang for buck, great picture out of the box (put those blacks on LOW)
LG: High quality footage viewing, you're getting into the OLED buzz, awkward seating positions in the living room.
If you don't have much 4k content, IMO, you'd love the Samsung if you haven't updated your TV in the last 3 years.
I guess it comes down to: how much more entertainment will you get for an extra £700ish?
I have a Soundtouch 300 and it doesn't look bad underneath the TV.

Can't see OLED 4k screens dropping below a grand for a couple of years, especially as LG is the only company manufacturing the panels. LCD will reign supreme leaving OLED as a relatively premium technology.

The LG TV warranty is not worth the paper it is written on. My new LG TV screen has annoying multiple flashing pixels only after 4 months old and was registered under warranty. LG didn't want to know, very poor customer services. Google LG reviews or try to contact LG customer services before you buy one. Tempting price, but I would honestly go for another brand of TV.

The curve on this set is completely unobtrusive. It's so slight of a curve I don't notice it unless looking from the far sides. Nowhere near as aggressive as some of the Samsung sets. The screen coating LG has used seems to do a decent job of minimizing reflections/glare as well.

For technology items its generally better to start with comparing technologies used in two products rather than perceived quality. For TVs start with the backlight technology. Suggest u read up on oled v edge lit....

I have this model and this is a fantastic price for it. I have it on top of a Cambridge Audio sound base to improve the sound. The curve is so slight so I wouldn't worry if you aren't a fan of the curved TVs. I chose it partly for the 3D capabilities and it is superb for that. I am a big AV fan and I would say that this is comfortably the best TV I have ever owned!
To the one who asked about flat soundbars, I would think it would look absolutely fine due to the very shallow curve.

Arguably the LG chipset is more desirable as it's utilised in their higher-end models (though I recently bought a B6V and I'm absolutely delighted with it). At the time I was unaware of the other hardware differences and dismissed the curved model, not sure which I'd chose now... :stuck_out_tongue:

I assume you're talking about reliability rather then picture quality with that comment. Picture looks superb on their OLED sets but there's still a big question mark over LG's reliability. Maybe not a massive issue on a cheap TV but I sure would expect any TV costing over £1500 to last many years, which is why I wouldn't buy a large LG TV.

I have the B6. At standard settings the judder is there. If you go to the TruMotion setting, and set it to 4/10 for both anti judder and anti blur, the TV becomes perfect.
I've had many high end TVs over the years including the prodigious Pioneer Kuro and Panasonic VT50 plasmas... and this B6, once tweaked and tweaked.... blows everything away I've had previously.

I bought the B6 in late Febuary and it still had juddering on most content,like Freeview,Sky,etc,so i would imagine that the tv would have had the latest firmware on it when i bought it,as there was no over the air update when i had it.
It must have been a recent update as i returned the TV about 6-7 weeks ago to John Lewis.
Don't get me wrong it had a superb picture,but the motion issues let it down.
I have a Panasonic DX902 at the moment and it's a cracking big telly,but i still prefer the oled picture quality,in saying that the 902 showing a 4k runs the oled close,and outperforms the oled in hdr mode.:wink:

Don't know about the C6,but I've had 2 B6's in the past year (returned both) and they both had motion issues,juddering when panning on most content,and the general consensus is, it's down to the cheaper SOC that's used on the B6.

The Realtek chipset may give a fractionally increased peak brightness.
3D or not 3D would be the deal-breaker for me. We watched The Force Awakens, as a family, in 3D, last Friday and all really enjoyed it on my Sony KDL-55W905A. 4K OLED 3D is supposed to be as good as it gets, so I'll be going for the curved 3D model.
