Went into a three store to buy a Lenovo p2, but almost walk out with a G6 since I seen the price. Luckily my wallet didn't have enough £20 notes, plus no credit card with me so walk away with what i came in for (rare). I'm loving my Lenovo p2 so far and thought I post this deal to see it it helps other who would like a new top of the range phone alternative to say an s8.
This is a in-store deal only as they isn't a payg price listed on the website.
Call your local three store to check if it's available, should be nationwide as the price is listed in the interactive demo in-store.
P.S I upgraded or shall I say downgraded from the G4.

G5 never went down that fast and the reason for the price drop was the design.
This year LG G6 is a whole new story. It is beautifully designed, praised by all reviews and upped the company's profits since the launch.
G6 is a beautiful phone and at this price its a steal compared to the overpriced S8.
HOT.

LG overhyped and under delivered big time on this product... I know they were not allowed to have the snapdragon 835 ... but still ... struggling to see how this is any better than the g5...
also for a manufacturer who makes flagship phones with common flaws.. this phone is expensive.

The LG G4 is an appalling camera. My G4 is useless so much so LG have replaced it and the motherboard and yet the phone still can't take a decent photo without stalling, overheating the phone or just shutting down completely. Getting a good G4 should not be a lottery and that is what it is with LG. You never know if you are going to get one of the good ones or one of the bad ones. I would not risk buying another LG phone.

I had same issue with my G3. It was 18 months old. According to my LG account & the registration details on there for my G3 it said 12 months warranty. I contacted LG to enquire about the cost of a new board. They told me my G3 was on 2 year warranty and that they would fix it for free. I wasn't going to argue. I had to drop it off at one of the pick up points. Plenty about. it was back in just over a week. As good as new. I then sold it for £140 on Gums. I then bought a G5. But that's another story!

My G4 developed the bootloop about 8 months into it's life and was covered under the LG warranty so I just went on the site (I had already registered the phone) and I got it back within a week and have had no further problems. Frankly I think it would be out of order if they didn't repair it free of charge. It's not like you've broken it yourself and they are well aware of the problem. If they won't repair it because the 12 months has expired or it is a non-EU model then they will recommend their official out of warranty repair centre which means they will charge for the repair but I would push this one. OK, it might be out of warranty but the problem is common.

they didn't swap out my dead g3 saying it was modified ( it wasn't). my g4 had a bootloop which was fixed, but was without a phone for 3 weeks.
my g5 has a common GPS issue, however it would be difficult to be without a phone for 3 weeks , so I am looking for a replacement which will substitute for 3 weeks whilst I await the repairs.

My "spare" phone is an Asus 4g Max which I bought from Gearbest. 5.5" screen. More bezel than the G4 which had bootlooped but I got it for £95ish which is a bargain. The 720p screen and the 5000mah battery gave me 2 days plus usage and when I got my G4 back I kept on using the Asus for a week or 2. Plenty of decent phones on Gearbest and you won't get charged VAT if you choose the slowest shipping option.

Went into local store and it would be £629 + £10 top up if they had any. They don't have it as they're a small store! I asked about other stores and they said it would be the same price at any store. They also pointed out that it's the G5 at £490. So can only guess the stores showing it cheaper have messed up. If I weren't a 300 mile + return drive from Manchester ide be there and getting one at that price, but i'm sceptical anyway.

For info my experience with LG is this. I had the G3, which was a great phone, the camera was miles ahead of anything ide had before. I think the quality of the photos could definitely be regarded as better than that of my G5. Which also has a great camera (love the wide angle lens too) Very quick phone. But with the G3 it kept looping after 18 months, but as it had a 2 year warranty LG did fix it like new. I then sold it on Gums for £140. I had paid £240 for it with cashback. So it cost me £100 for 18 months. Beats a contract all day long. Now on my 2nd G5 as first had a very small warp to the one bottom corner. Only noticeable out of the case. I had it exchanged but un be known to me they replaced it with the G5 SE! Long story. I'm actually in the middle of a dispute on this. They want to offer me a small discount even though they've admitted they duped me albeit they say in error. I'm after a full refund as they no longer stock the G5 only the G5 SE. At the time of exchange they said they did still offer the G5. So all in all I have mixed feelings about LG smartphones. But what I will say is the camera's are great. If you get a good one then they're a bargain compared to Samsung etc. I think a 2 year warranty is a must though. It is a hassle if you do have to send for repair. You'll be without ya phone for over a week. So if you want a top end LG phone you prob want to also have a spare cheaper smart phone. One of the old Moto Gs maybe. If & when I get a refund for my G5 i'm not sure I'll fork out for another one? I would be tempted by this offer but its still nearly £500. Might go for the Moto G4 for now. And wait for this to drop later in the year maybe.

The g6 and google pixel outperformed the s8 and iPhone 7 in a recent photo shootout, the picture quality of the g6 were amazing and very high quality.
Yes it does not have the snapdragon 835 but would you really want to splash out a extra 200 300 quid for the sake of the processor to being a 835?
thelargeportion1
30 Apr 171#28
If this price is right, it's an astonishingly good price for the G6 which is a current generation flagship phone.
Granted, it's an 821 not 835 Snapdragon, but so far there's been no real-world difference noticeable between the two. The crippling issue of poor battery life with the G5 seems to have been rectified too.
The major advantage over something like a P2 (I know, different categories of phone altogether, but someone else has drawn a similarity) is the camera, which is excellent. See The Verge's camera shootout article which gives a good comparison between this generation's top cameras.
All in, for this money, it's incredible if you can get one. It's also somewhat damning that you can get one this cheap so soon after launch

As for the G6, it's a solid phone, LG just dropped the ball by thinking they could pricematch the S8. Slower CPU, less storage, no wireless charging on the UK model and no edge display. Methinks in a few months it'll be heavily discounted (and at around £500 it would be a good deal)
