The tech brigade will most certainly point out it is not full 4K due to the use of RGBW.
Also worth noting the TV uses an 8bit panel which of course means the HDR will not be all that (duh..)
Still, it's a decent TV for the money and you won't get much better in this price range.
Old deal thread below was expired. However code MEGA30 still works and still gets you the same TV for the same price. (And £30 off any other item on the site if you spend £299+)
Where the OP says "Also worth noting the TV uses an 8bit panel which of course means the HDR will not be all that"
Am I correct in assuming that coming from a 42" 1080p LCD that's over 5 years old, I'd notice a difference?

You'd notice a difference for sure, this is still a bump on standard HD. I made that statement almost in jest, but it would be true that an 8 bit panel would not be giving out the same level of HDR capability as a more expensive 10 bit equivalent.

I think most people will be aware of true 4k by now  Basically if it's £750+ it's probably 4K. This is not a bad price though. I'll give it some heat.

Cheers. I'll ask at a showroom. I have freesat, so it'd be great if it has it already.

The richer sound site says no freesat and can't see it mentioned on the LG site, 3 humus though and inbuilt now tv app.

I can confirm it's in the menu setup and that in the past LG's have received Freesat. I don't have a dish to try, but I think it's safe to assume it will work.

Not sure if it does have freesat. Might want to check.

It really annoys me that sites seem to have stopped including images of the back of the TV to show the port layout.
