Very tempting. This or the G5 3GB? Does it have dual sim? I really want dual sim but no mention of it.

Unless all Z play are dual sim, usually you can only get dual sim Moto phones directly from Motorola.
Mine came directly from Lenovo and is dual sim

If you are talking about G5 Plus and both are the same price, of course this one. Why G5?

G5 is cheaper than the Plus. What is the advantage of the Plus?

9 Apr 17#13
is it better than xiaomi note 4 model?
looks both xiaoomi note 4 has same features of moto z except xiaomi we are getting 4100 mah where as in Z we have 3500 battery
also xiaomi has price 188 in ebay UK sellers
G5 Plus has a far better camera for low light and in general, much faster processor, if you get a 4GB RAM version and with 4K video recording, you have got nearly everything that a mid range phone should provide in a beautiful body
But compare that to this phone and the screen and build would win this one a hundred times over

Ive had the phone a year or so ago.
It was ok (good battery life), but I think its worth to spend more and get a newer device. Better OS support and possibly better performance (and if not performance better screen in newer phone models).

Thanks, was gonna get the moto g5 plus. but gone for this instead. was debating the g5 plus but didn't like the idea of no compass. been a while since I've been away from samsung or LG but I'm getting sick of all the gimmicks. I don't want or need curved screens, glass backs, lack of sd card slots etc. I love my LG G5 but the tiny bit of curved screen at the top mate getting a decent glass screen protector difficult.
How this compare with S8. Is it worth paying double the price for the S8.

think I'm gonna cancel mine and stick with the g5 plus. after looking at reviews etc this has a slightly curved screen, a lot of the glass screen protector reviews complain about not covering the whole screen which is important for me

I don't take camera phones seriously. In good light they are good but once the light goes down they are a gimmick. I don't play games and use hardly any apps so processor speed is not an issue. The only thing puts me off is the lack of dual sim.

My LG G3 has just died and I was set on ordering the Oneplus 3T, then this deal popped up. Comparing the specs of the two phones there not much to set them apart on paper. The Moto Z seems to have a smaller battery than the 3T (and my old G3). Is the battery life any good on the Moto Z?

Love my Z Play (bought from Moto site when they had the stackable vouchers), though the photo app is poor and the screen isn't (quite) as good as my old LG G4, but at least the Z Play doesn't have the boot loop fault!
mikepcon
12 Apr 17#44
Couldn't understand the instructions, but I am pretty sure it is not. There are two sim slots in the bit you take out, but one is deliberately blocked. There may be a way around it but not a good idea.
Also the charger is a European plug!

THe Xiaomi Note 4 is a better phone in every regard aside from camera.
With Lineage OS, I get well over 10 hours SoT a day with everything pretty much stock, including a lot of gaming.
If you stick to MIUI, expect close to 15 hours SoT for moderate usage.
