ive had iPhones that have faulty home buttons, grey out WiFi issues, Samsungs that have suffered from the black screen of death issues. Sony xperias with overheating and flickering screens, xboxs that needed reflowing etc point being just because something Is a named brand doesn't mean faults don't develop

I Purchased the Leagoo M8 for my mother who wanted to play Pokemon Go. However while the M8 can run the game, the GPS is unusable, looking at the spec's I believe the GPS is the same on this handset. Just a heads up for anyone still playing.

no mention of gps issues on the internet search you may of got a bad batch

everyone sooner or later gets a bad phone that's faulty

Also like to know if this can run pokemon go without GPS issues for my daughters who are 8 and 6. If not any cheap alternative what will?

the previous lot of m8s i bought Wer fine for Pokémon go, some users have stated otherwise tho, my 8 year old plays it all the time

bought the Leagoo Lead about 2 yrs ago. Still going strong. No issues whatsoever. For the price how can you go wrong with this one. Great spec for peanuts or would you prefer an Alcatel or Bush.

Always are with these types of phones. Its the buggy, hacked together, untested and often spyware filled software you have to worry about. Combine with zero warranty, chinese style customer service and you might as well set fire to your cash. Stick with ZTE, huawei, xiaomi, lenovo if you're desperate not to be seen with a samsung.

Screen cracked quite easily despite being gorilla on mine. GPS rubbish unless you switch on Wifi to help it out

It can also be an issue of it's great out of the box, but the really cheap components don't always last much more than 12 months. So my advice, FWIW, is if you go cheap, ensure you not only have everything backed up but have a relatively easy way of restoring everything onto your next cheap phone. Had Ulefone, Xiaomi and LeTV. 2 out of 4 developed faults within 12 months or so. Often the digitiser goes.

buggy , spyware etc absolute nonsense. My Leagoo had none of this and the software was pretty straightforward. The whole thing about spyware is totally OTT. What Chinse hacker is going to be interested in the whereabouts or goings on of a Sam Smith in Grimsby or anywhere else for that matter. Wheres the evidence of mass scale intrusion. Cheap news stories for the gullible.

For this price, you'd be better off paying another £7 for the Xiaomi Redmi phone from the other thread. At least with the Xiaomi you get a tried and tested brand / phone without the risk of GPS / software glitches etc. Alot of manufacturer / developer support with the Xiaomi software as well.

You can get the ZTE blade a512 from Vodafone for £65 plus £10 topup... Unlock for £1 on eBay...... ZTE is 2gb ram Android 6 and 16gb

I am all for these Chinese phones given the price despite some issues, imagine how much Samsung and the likes make on a handset = grand display of profiteering, but if there's demand and all that, then why not, its a business at the end of the day. Xiaomi is a great example of a quality handset that don't cost £800, sheer madness if you ask me. Also phone engineers tell me that Samsungs internally are pathetic and have a limited lifespan, especially of recent models.

Down boy, relax, no need to get aggresive or so defensive, I think you missed the point here, bigtime lol - I was refering to durability, and how many come in for repairs, and how the internals are of lesser quality, and by design have a shelf life, unlike the early Samsungs - the "phone engineers" are the ones who do the repairs and I was not comparing them to the software engineers, designers in Samsung R&D. At which point did I compare a repair engineer to a Sammy engineer! Exactly, I didn't. Even then it seems Samsung R&D get it wrong, remember the phones blowing up lol and you know "jack all" about the industry wide practice of "built-in obsolescence" tactic. >>>>Mr Samsung social media agent heads for google lol

I looked at the above link for rooting info but it didnt point to what was mentioned for me.

I received and rooted flashed android 7 FW etc all worked well...... have since sold it on to a family friend tho....

i'm getting strange fake SMS messages about clinic bookings, amazon deliveries & vodafone bills. Its either something to do with the software that comes with the phone or Telegram.org are selling/using your number. I've literally installed nothing except Telegram alongwith a Lyca sim.

run an anti virus program, id say it telegram........... sounds suspicious, if you're worried there's plenty of custom ROMs available online including Nougat (android 7)
