Half price on fraser bed frames at John Lewis. Single was £125, now £65 and the double was £150 now £75. Nice bed, good reviews and John lewis customer service if you have any problems. Can't go wrong really!
You have to make sure the slats are the right way round - bowed side up.
I got into bed and fell through, yes the bed collapsed!

£104 with delivery and assembly - seems like a good deal to me. Similar looking base to beds I've had from Tesco recently which have been good. Depending on how much you value the time the £29 assembly is a bargain on its own!
a lot of the reviews say its ok for the money but it was a pain to put together and that their was bits missing. some also stated that it was not pre drilled in the right place. i think this is why its cheap, john lewis know of the issues and just want rid.

To be fair most beds for about £150 aren't made from real wood. Unless you buy one of those pine ones that creak.
Good luck with trying to move that once it's built!

I agree £29 isn't bad for assembly but a double bed shouldn't take too long to assemble. At least it's not like those crappy Ebay faux leather beds from China. They can be a nightmare to assemble.

Anyone know whether an ikea double will fit on this? Looks like it would be too big :disappointed:

If you got the European double from IKEA then yes it will be 10cm to wide for this frame.

It was a bit tongue in cheek, my missus works for Waitrose so we got it for for £825 with the 25% discount at John Lewis.
The bed came from oakworld in Durham though as there weren't anything we fancied at JL

Amazed that JL would put their name to plastic covered particleboard like this. If this is what you want I'm sure IKEA will do it better.

I would agree this is not a straight forward DIY. Annoyed!!! In hindsight should have paid £29 but then it appeared simple enough.

Make sure you put the cam locks in before the corresponding metal dowel. Also make sure the arrow is pointing to where the metal dowel will go. Once in then turn the cam lock clockwise to tighten.
