Aren't these the kind of offers that cause a massive ballache when you want to cancel after the 5 for £5? Or have things moved on since the last time I subscribed (_;)
Heat for the offer OP!

You can just cancel your direct debit with the bank, obviously it's polite to let Imagine know as well but you don't have to.

Duly noted, thanks. I'm sure when I last took out one of these offers, some years back, I ended up having to ring their premium priced "customer services" number to speak to an adviser - even on the landline it cost me about £8 :disappointed:

Yeah, remember them things, was a nightmare to cancel stuff at one time. Nothing to worry about now though

Question then, does the £5 come out in one go or a pound a month etc? If the former, surely you just cancel the DD after the payments been taken?

I'm pretty sure it was one £5 transaction last time I did it.

You can definitely just cancel the dd, plenty on here have done it before, including me

Out of interest, when can you actually cancel the direct debit? When you recieve the 5th issue? or can you cancel immediately after the 5 quid has been taken?

No reason to not to do it after the £5 payment is taken, is there? That's what I'll be doing X)

Thanks, I've given Retro Gamer a go  Any ideas if you can use this offer to subscribe to more than one title at a time?

I always assumed you'd have to wait for the fifth issue and then cancel. Might give this a go

I just signed up and had ticked the boxes to stop promotional texts and calls etc. I then changed something on my address details and clicked order, and noticed these promo boxes had reset to unticked. Does anybody know how to get them ticked in again now the order has come through? I dont want to be receiving calls and texts etc

You will have to give them a ring I guess.

If you try to add two magazines to your basket it doesn't seem to work but there is a workaround...
1) click HUKD link to site using the GET DEAL button and add a magazine to the basket. 2) Close browser window (I used Chrome). 3) Go back to HUKD and use the GET DEAL button again. One £5 magazine will still be in your basket and you can add another.
It worked for me. Got both Photoshop Creative and Digital Photographer for £10.

Just done the same and have 2 different subscriptions. Must remember to cancel the direct debits now! My children love the How It Works magazine and it's really helped to spark an interest in their science lessons at school. At this price it's a no brainer really:)

I just managed to place an order for 2 different subscriptions without resorting to closing the web browser and revisiting the web page. They must have sorted it out and made it easier to do

With these things you just email them to cancel, they take about a week to respond but it's fine and you check online it will show sub canceled. Just make sure you do this a month before receiving the last issue, so for this offer it would be the 4th issue
