I believe is price glitch, i reservrd this camera with 3 way handler , and i picked one up hour ago , with my nectar points this was cost me £230 and than i received £ 10 voucher ad bought extra battery for £9,99.
There are plenty of great action cameras for around £100 (and lots of not-so-great ones for £50 or less). A GoPro 5 *might* be better, but not £200 better. If you need the best, go for it. Otherwise, shop around.

I just about managed to hustle my one. I reserved it last night while the deal was still on and went to collect not too long ago and the staff didn't want to throw in the 3 way arm. They said they can honour the price at £299.99 because it's on my reserve list. So after 20 minutes on the phone to head office it's got sorted.

Bought one last Friday unaware of the handler deal. When I paid chap said free mount but none in stock so collect next time. I thought it was some cheap gimmick but looked at the code I got him to write on my receipt and its 504/9107 so this gopro 3 way handler at £54.99. See its back in stock so will pop in to get it and a spare battery with my £10 off code. Hopefully they honour it.

Probably a bit late now, but I don't reckon these make great "family event" cameras. There's no zoom (except for a fixed set of views which have to be set before filming), and only a tiny little screen to monitor what you're filming - even assuming it does show live video. It's an action camera - designed to be mounted somewhere while you concentrate on what you're doing and the camera records the action. At default settings it will be far too wide-angle to get a decent view of your kids.
The video recording on iPhones (I have a standard 6) is generally better - assuming you don't need 4K - other recent phones are probably good too. Or for £300 you could buy a very decent camcorder with proper optical zoom and a decent screen to watch what you're filming.

Well what a mission that was. Put both in the basket yesterday following the link posted on here, sure enough came to £355. That link def advertised the promo until 18th. Got to the store today to pay and collect, girl on the till had no clue. She had to get the manager involved and everything. Argos have changed that link so it doesn't link to a promo anymore it just links to the bundle instead, so couldn't even show that for proof (cheeky stards). Manager was clueless too but lucky for me was a decent guy and honoured it as I showed him the photo of the receipt that somebody uploaded here (so thank you very much for that). 20 painful and embarrassing minutes at the till though.

I reserved the go pro, 3 way handler and tripod kit at argos and popped into store to pick them up. As mentioned above, I showed the promotion on the argos site (you can see the promo advert by checking the camcorder category in the menu) and the manager put the handle and tripod through for free. Thanks all for the tips!

thanks OP, just called in-store and picked one of these up with the free 3-way handler.
For info: I could view the special offers link fine and shown this in-store when ordering (price originally came up as £354.98, same as when added to basket online). Salesperson went to check and said they could not see any special offers on the GoPro Hero 5 product page. I shown them the offer again and said this was showing as available until 18/04. After querying it with another salesperson they agreed to honor and put through as 'bundle/offer not found'.

She has an ancient Lumia phone as just thought the GP5 would allow for better capturing of family events and was small enough to keep in the bag. Just don't want it to be an expensive paper weight albeit one at a decent price.

Might not have been a waste of time for you, but definitely was for Argos!
My house is like a combination of Currys and an Apple Store - I exaggerate a little, but I have a crazy amount of tech, and always have had.
I have NEVER completed a warranty card from the box in my life, and I'd be willing to bet most people are the same. If you have a warranty issue you contact the retailer or the manufacturer, those little booklets don't have any relevance.
GoPro definitely give 2 years warranty in this country.
kooks65
13 Apr 17#108
Just back from Argos, I had to pick up something else so it wasn't a wasted trip. I asked the guy to open the box to get the warranty info out, he managed this without breaking the seal and it was a little booklet which said one year. So it seems there is a lot of confusion out there so I'm sticking with JL, it is a lot of money for something to go wrong.

Yes, it's actually epic. Within seconds of every electronics ad being posted, some loser asks 'will JL price match', and I find it a bit pathetic.
What's brilliant here is if people just looked at GoPro's website to see they had a 2 year warranty they could have picked it up closer to home, much quicker, no messing around sending emails, and would have received the handle and a £10 voucher.
Doesn't get much better from a spectator's point of view

The GoPro only has a 1/2.3in sensor similar to the iPhone so image quality isn't any better, the advantage of the GoPro is being able to strap it to a helmet, on a bike or similar and be able to capture footage that way which you couldn't do with an iPhone.

I spent months searching for what I wanted. I purchased the SJ5000X, had it 6 months, bought it early ready to use for my holiday and get familiar with it, only used it several times for light use, then the side button pushed through the housing the day before my holiday. Emailed Gearbest but they only do a 45 day warranty and were of no use what so ever. £100 down the drain. Had to go out and buy a GoPro the day of my holiday before leaving. Bought the GoPro4 Silver and the quality in build and use is far superior to the SJ5000x. As the saying goes, buy cheap buy twice. I would not recommend the cheaper Chinese versions to anyone personally.

The video recording on iPhones (I have a standard 6) is generally better - assuming you don't need 4K - other recent phones are probably good too. Or for £300 you could buy a very decent camcorder with proper optical zoom and a decent screen to watch what you're filming.
Just manage to get 3 way handler from argos. Shown screenshot of offer and staff manage to honour deal. No a problem...pop in to argos where you have collected your Gopro, show them proof of deal and hopefully they will give you without any charge. Good luck.
Once again thank you for lovely community of houtkdeal....

Thank you for your price match request for the GoPro HERO5 Black Edition Camcorder with a free GoPro 3-Way Camera Mount.
I have contacted Argos and been advised the offer finished on Thursday 13th April.
Therefore, I am unable to agree to your price match request.
I have attached the price match policy below.

Jessops comes with free Tecno Action Camera Accessory Kit (Worth £50)
By any chance anyone has screenshot of offer with picture showing free 3 way handler worth £54.99.
Appreciate if you can share..
She has an ancient Lumia phone as just thought the GP5 would allow for better capturing of family events and was small enough to keep in the bag. Just don't want it to be an expensive paper weight albeit one at a decent price.

This is cheapest and the recommended.
Thanks
It will be the same warranty, just JL might post it to GoPro for you.
The lesson here is to check the manufacturer's warranty first next time.
And GoPro might come with a 2 year warranty but I'd rather pop into JL than mess about sending it off 'if' it ever broke on me.
What's brilliant here is if people just looked at GoPro's website to see they had a 2 year warranty they could have picked it up closer to home, much quicker, no messing around sending emails, and would have received the handle and a £10 voucher.
Doesn't get much better from a spectator's point of view
A go-pro is an action cam, nobody would be stupid enough to buy it for hiking and general photography.
What's sets would you recommend? I'm hoping to get back into GoPro with this deal. Wonder if I should of waited for the HERO 6.
I asked the manager about the deal after I paid and he said that it shouldn't have worked with the lower price but not sure how true that is.
Big thanks to the OP for this been waiting for a while for it to drop and with the handler it's a steal.
I ended up buying from John Lewis with 2 year warranty for piece of mind and even got the 3 way handle, it wasn't in store stock so the ladys had it sent out to my home.

Considering you can get an entire mini computer with a phone and a similar camera attached for not much more
John
I don't care what anyone says , it is a fantastic camera , and you can compare with all the rest of the cheap chinese makes , at the end of the day it comes down to simple thing. You always get what you pay for !

Looking at the Yi 4K, looks very impressive...hmm
UPDATE: OK forget all of that, I heard the 6 should arrive this year, I'll wait...
These 2 items at Amazon costing close to £450..
Just been watching some Hero 5 Black vs iPhone videos on YouTube via an LG OLED and to be honest, other than the wider angle lens the iPhone looks better
Maybe £150 would be a good deal based on the portability of the GoPro for sports and such but for hiking and general photography I think the iPhone wins for me. I really wanted to like the GoPro as well, shame :disappointed:
Gonna use it for my trip to Japan this year along with my Canon 100d which I hope to upgrade to a 80D.
These sell for £330-350 used so could always make money back.

I've just rang John Lewis there to see if they'll match and throw thr handle in, the lady said she'll have to get the right department to call me back so just waiting!
Rather buy from JL to get the 2 year warranty
I've reserved but no mention of the 3 way handle in my basket, did they just give you this instore?
Thanks
