My order with the mi-band came today and I'm very impressed with them both so far.
'Back' and 'List Apps' being on the opposite side to what I'm used to is throwing me like.
Seems like a quality bit of kit and will tide me over until the big boys come out with something worth buying.
A big thanks to everyone who has replied to this thread, there's been a lot of good info which helped with the purchase and on cases/covers.

I can honestly say I've not had any of these issue's.
Was the phone you had an official global version? I would personally not buy a Chinese version of any phone as even if it's been flashed with a global ROM u could still run into issues.

I bought the silicone case so don't think it was £10.
I didn't bother disputing it because i still think i got a great deal as the phone is awesome. Bought a case for a couple of quid which i mentioned in a previous post which is really good.
Overall I'm knocked out by how good this phone is and for the price you won't do better anywhere.
You'd have to pay over £200 to get a phone this good in the UK.

Did you attempt a dispute as it was about ten quid for the case?
When I was a greenie I sent my first case crap case back to ebay seller at my own expense after complaining. Later, I learnt you stick that label on for free post? Grrr.

Decent Phone!, thanx for that link, but one of the comments on there isn't so great?, check here:
"xIAOMI WILL SELL LESS PHONES THAN 2016 with such devices as upper price, uncomplete 4D bands, and now, with no jack audio. I thought that could be my first Xiaomi device but now, i'm sure it's not."
And one or two other comments question one or two other things too? (I could be wrong however?).
But as I said before, it's a decent Phone. :-)

After the Xiaomi redmi I was using an s6 Edge plus till I smashed it and went back to the xiaomi, it's just constant little niggles if it worked as it says it does I'd be happy to keep it.
Signal constantly switching between H and 4G but drops off in between, when I make a call it takes it some time to think about connecting or just decides to drop the signal, camera specs are good but pictures and auto focus turn out awfully in use. Battery randomly flat but knock it back on and it's got half a charge. Lock button sometimes decides it isn't going to work till I reboot. The most annoying thing is it dosnt like certain WiFi so says it's connected only to get 20 messages appear after switching to data. That's just what I can remember from the top of my head, updates seem to fix something then brake something else too.
il never touch them again.

Bought this case for £2.59 and pretty decent. Much better than the rubbish one i got sent with the phone.
Am very happy with mine too just one issue. It's been perfect but there is a bug with Bluetooth for wearables seems like when you have connected more than on say a garmin watch tracker and Bluetooth headphones seems like it's dropping my wearable connection sometimes without reconnecting automatically.

A few people have bought and received this phone but haven't seen any of them mentioning they got the bundle with case so not sure if anyone will be able to answer that for definite. It would depend on whether the seller is aware of the housing differences. You could just get another cheap one incase it does end up being incorrect. Look for Redmi Note 4X ones. Some listings will also state Global Version Note 4, like this one.

Could someone who bought this phone test their hall sensor, as I'm not sure mine is working.
The Hall sensor is what detects the magnet in a flip case that allows the phone to be locked and unlocked. My official xiaomi flip case does nothing.
You can test it by tapping the kernel version in settings -> about phone. Then choose hall sensor from the test menu.
I'm curious if it's just my phone or is it a wider issue with the global version...

Global Version is Snapdragon so it'll be the Note 4X port placement. The IR blaster moved from the centre position of the Mediatek model to the right in the Snapdragon. Centre hole in the top of case means it's not right for this phone. The person mentioned in my previous comment posted earlier in this thread too about the case fitting.

dreadzone101
17 Apr 17#89
That case won't fit the variant in this deal. See this post. The Snapdragon and original Mediatek models have different housings. For China, Redmi Note 4X = Snapdragon and Redmi Note 4 = Mediatek. However, Global Version Redmi Note 4 is Snapdragon but is not called Note 4X. Cases advertised for "Redmi Note 4" will almost always be for the original China Mediatek style housing unless it specifically states otherwise. The person whom I was replying to said that their 2nd "Redmi Note 4" case didn't fit and posted this reply. Their link is a case with correct fitment for this phone. Notice the differences in hole placement at the top. Also earlier in that thread mentions screen protectors. There is also a slight difference in the camera/light sensor position between the 2 versions. In the above screen protector link, Note 4X is a separate option. That would mean if you ordered "Note 4" it will be for Mediatek and won't fit right. You'd need to order the Note 4X one.
Hi,
would you be able to give us a link to the ones you bought? I've ordered a case but I'm not sure about the screen protector.
Cheers

Could anyone who bought one of these phone do a quick test for me.
Go to settings, about phone and tap the kernel version a few times to bring up the test menu.
Could you test your hall sensor with a magnet by bringing it close to the home button? This will simulate a flip case magnet - better yet, use a flip case if you have a magnetic one.

You can get them on Amazon from £25 incl. delivery. I think the ones I looked at shipped from Spain within a few days. Anyone buying off Amazon should check they are not sent from the Far East because you can buy cheaper on AliExpress. If you are not buying one together with your phone on AliExpress you should avoid the cheapest ones at around £10-11. These are almost certainly the old Mi Band 1 even if it says they are Mi Band 2. I would go for the one with better specs provided I had the extra £20. I wouldn't factor in the shipping delay as tracking its progress was part of the fun for me - you might even appreciate it more when it arrives! Of course, there is a risk it might take significantly longer than the 11 days mine took to arrive, or you could get charged custom fees, or it might be faulty on arrival. It all depends on whether you are prepared to accept these risks over the downside of getting what I assume in the case of the ultra 7, without checking the specs, is an inferior phone. Don't forget you get a discount as a new Aliexpress user, Quidco/Topcashback/etc cash back and buy when the price is low. All these could wipe out the price difference

I've had mine for a couple of weeks and for the price I can't recommend it highly enough. It works like a phone should and I've not experienced the frustration I've had previously with well known brands. It is very fast and hasn't even stuttered once. Last weekend, we sat on a rock in a gulley in the middle of nowhere and watched the Grand National live. OK the signal was surprisingly good but the phone was equally flawless. If I had my time again I might wait for the 64gb version but I've put all my old apps on and have used less than a quarter of the memory, so I would probably never need the extra ROM. From someone who vowed he would never buy a smartwatch I strongly recommend investing in a Mi Band 2 watch too. It was cheap, the battery seems it will last 20 days between charges; and, with the 'Notify and Fitness' app (the official app should be avoided) it brilliantly monitors my steps, heart beat and sleep. That may sound gimmicky but the best function is it vibrates like mad when I get a call. For someone who forgets to take the phone off silent in the mornings I now never miss a call. Take the plunge and if you are like me you won't regret it.

I've ordered several cases of which the best received so far is this one: http://s.aliexpress.com/J36bEfaQ . I like the build quality which makes it look much more expensive than the current price of £2.54. The case gives a little when pressed to suggest it would absorb some impact if dropped. The buttons are real buttons unlike bumps in the plastic on some alternatives and they work very nicely. The holes on the top and bottom edge fit my phone perfectly. There is a slight gap between the case and the glass screen protector and if you look you can see about 1mm of the phone casing all around the edge but this is well recessed and not a worry. Of a little more concern is the hole on the back, for the camera lens, flash and fingerprint sensor, which is a single oval shaped hole. This is common on many cases for this phone and other models but in my opinion makes the phone too easily scratched. I have cut up a case I ordered in error with wrongly positioned top holes (for the Chinese market Note 4) but with separate holes for the lens, flash and fingerprint sensor and taped them inside this case to give that little extra protection should it accidentally come into contact with keys or coins. I hope this helps and I will post another review if any of the other cases I get seem better.

I don't think you'd notice much difference in performance between the two to be honest and the 625 processor in the Note 4 is supposed to be more energy efficient. The Redmi Note 4 has a better camera though and slightly better battery performance. In fairness, there's not much in it but personally I think the Redmi Note 4 is the better bet, also taking into considerations that it will probably be supported longer than the Note 3.
I would expect the M7 to have a better camera then the Iphone 6 Plus as it only has 8mp.

I bought this phone from (albeit from Gearbest and a purportedly slightly less powerful Helios X20 64gb version which cost 80 quid more) last month, took about 17 working days to arrive and it's a very nice phone indeed... at this price and assuming AliExpress are decently stocked it's defo worth heat. check out the Dux Ducis flip case if you want a premium feeling cover for it.
MIUI 8 is horrible to look at in my opinion and a RAM hog so I'm using Nova Launcher instead (which looks way nicer but doesn't stop MIUI from eating memory). Once my year warranty runs out I shall root it and put a slimmer ROM on it.

Now, if you want to flash it yourself or wait for the official update after June.
It depends on your screen. Technically, there is no limit for how dark an LCD screen can get. After all, the backlight is still produced by LEDs. Even color changes are possible, but you need to have the colored backlight LEDs for that.
But I agree in general: for most screen, the lowest brightness setting is much too bright.

To answer the Z2 questions, I got mine when they first came out, and I did have to follow a guide to flash the ROM to an International one. I can't say if this has been ironed out or not now, however it was well worth the effort. The specs are beastly, and nothing can come near them for hardware specs. Great build quility (as Lenovo own ZUK), 5"1080p screen, 4GB RAM, 64GB storage. 64GB is ample for me, and no it doesn't have a memory card slot, but I can't imagine anyone requiring more that 64GB. Plus the Z2 has 2 Sim slots, which I find extremely handy as I previously had 2 mobiles. I'm a techy, so I don't mind spending a half hour following a guide on flashing to get something with this amount of grunt. Benchmark wise the Z2 is scoring around 129000 in Antutu benchmark fyi.

The ZUK Z2 (and the ZUK Z2 Pro) look great phones. Do they have the Global ROM versions? I wouldn't want a Chinese version or a Chinese version that has been flashed with a Global ROM. If the ZUK Z2 (and Pro) have been built from scratch for the UK please let me know?
Also, it's a must for me to have a phone that will have no malware/spyware, and neither the odd Chinese text appearing when using it.
Can anybody advise please? Thanks.

Think I'm going to get a mi5 or mi5s unless the mi6 comes out with a 2k screen which is looking unlikely

I've ordered the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 this morning and looking forward to moving over to this. I currently have a Lumia 1520 having been an owner of a Lumia for the past 4 years (1520, 925, 820,710) but I've decided to finally ditch windows phone and move over to android due to Microsofts lack of support for the phone platform.

Was the phone you had an official global version? I would personally not buy a Chinese version of any phone as even if it's been flashed with a global ROM u could still run into issues.
When I was a greenie I sent my first case crap case back to ebay seller at my own expense after complaining. Later, I learnt you stick that label on for free post? Grrr.
Thought Purchase Protection sounded reassuring...
What phone are you using now?
Not having a go at you just curious.

I've experienced no bugs whatsoever and it's been a buttery smooth experience. MIUI 8 is very impressive in my opinion.
This one fits:-

and this is the best screen protector to date_

This screen protector comes with a long gap across the top, not as shown in the picture but fits fine. Don't forget with the curved glass it will not fit to the edge.
Hope that helps
The Hall sensor is what detects the magnet in a flip case that allows the phone to be locked and unlocked. My official xiaomi flip case does nothing.
You can test it by tapping the kernel version in settings -> about phone. Then choose hall sensor from the test menu.
I'm curious if it's just my phone or is it a wider issue with the global version...
I bought this screen protector
thats the case ive ordered for mine and i got a screen protector coming with the phone as a bundle
would you be able to give us a link to the ones you bought? I've ordered a case but I'm not sure about the screen protector.
Cheers
Go to settings, about phone and tap the kernel version a few times to bring up the test menu.
Could you test your hall sensor with a magnet by bringing it close to the home button? This will simulate a flip case magnet - better yet, use a flip case if you have a magnetic one.
Mine isn't working but i want to check others...
This is the 4/64 version with B20. Quite a bit dearer.
Ive ordered this today
can anyone recommend a wallet case plus stand
that they know actually fits?
Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/222236685712

The global redmi note 4 is the same as the redmi note 4x
I'm desperate to replace my 2013 Moto G with this but I'm worried that this would need a different rom than the regular model that doesn't have band 20. Can anyone who knows more clarify?
There seems to be some confusion as to which ones will fit and of course what is good or not...
Remember you can add a micro SD card to this phone to increase storage.
This has the original global ROM and is totally safe and reliable.
I love the big screen and long battery life. The camera is good on this but it won't be as good as your S7 though.
For the price this is unbeatable!
Performance wise this phone has not stuttered or froze on me once. The screen is also amazing. The phone also looks fantastic. Battery life is easily 2 days and 3 if you're a light user.
Simply amazing value for money!
Would it be worth swapping Samsung Galaxy s7 to this?
Somehow s7 annoys the hell out of me. Is a bit too small, it tends to loose network now and then and I think it is not worth it price.
I do like camera in it but looks like redmi note 4 is not bad either.
Any thoughts?
Here's a review comparing the two if anybody is interested:
Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 vs. Redmi Note 3
This is cheaper but don't seem to tick all the boxes. If the global 64gb 4m ram would be tempting but as leaving the UK Monday short on options. Anything else coming out / to consider i Can pick up relatively quickly ?
MIUI 8 is horrible to look at in my opinion and a RAM hog so I'm using Nova Launcher instead (which looks way nicer but doesn't stop MIUI from eating memory). Once my year warranty runs out I shall root it and put a slimmer ROM on it.
Phone is great, really pleased with it. Very premium feel, i got the Matt black.
I also bought an official xiaomi flip cover with the transparent window. But i cant get it to work with the phone, even with smart cover turned on in the settings.
Have you tried this at all? Does it lock the screen when you close the cover?
Link
But I agree in general: for most screen, the lowest brightness setting is much too bright.
PS: Is 5.5" still considered a phablet? I thought that is normal. Or does it have a pen?
My last xiaomi (Xiaomi Mi4) has a really **** GPS. I noticed others asking about it in another thread. So far, this GPS seems good (something that would have been a game changer for me for this phone if it was **** again) though I haven't tested it enough just yet.
