This chain rarely do offers this good - less than half price, and can get as a lone diner. Additionally, AMEX are doing 5% off a £30 spend, you could buy a £30 gift card and use it gradually. Credit to Juggler1 for first informing me of this deal.
Don't see why the TASTER wouldn't apply too:
One taster per Gold Club member and each guest ordering a main course only. Gold Club member must present their Gold Club card in order to receive tasters. One taster per customer can be redeemed on each visit only. Tasters change on a monthly basis and are subject to availability. Valid at Jamie’s Italian UK restaurants only. No cash alternative available.
I don't think the free 125ml glass of wine for ordering a main would apple, as it does clearly state that "not with any other offer", but you could try. Same for "kids eat free" when an adult orders a main.
From website: "Ever since the doors to our first Jamie’s Italian opened in 2008, we’ve been committed to making fresh pasta every day. Our dishes use pasta that’s been made on site that morning with premium ingredients, extruded into all the shapes and sizes you see on the menu. To showcase the quality of our wonderful bowls of pasta, we think simple is best. That’s why on our specials boards this week, you’ll find a comforting favourite – Tagliatelle Bolognese, for only £5.
Our beautiful ragù is made to Gennaro’s recipe with slow-cooked pork, beef & red wine. It’s then tossed through fresh strips of pasta and topped with pangrattato & Parmesan. Simply perfect.
PASTA SPECIALS FOR £5
Offer available on selected pasta specials only between 1–30 April 2017. Not to be used in conjunction with any other offer. Subject to availability. Valid in all Jamie's Italian UK restaurants."

Your obviously think Pot Noodle is a good meal then. Food is over rated/priced and peeps just go as they like to follow the herd, like sheep to the slaughterhouse. Baaaa d food

That's a bit of an overreaction, they only said "never had a bad meal." which is hardly overly enthusiastic praise is it? It just means it wasn't awful, which for the price of it, is the very minimum you'd expect.

When you go, make sure you drink tap water with it, a little less profit for Jamie might make him a little less smug.

Fungi pizza that day - nice - it's a 10 from Len @ 5 quid - beats a brewers fayre or McD's.

Watch out for the Dolmio brigade, anything without 3 tablespoons of sugar will likely taste offensive to them.

A fiver for a plate of pasta doesn't sound like much of a deal and I would not want to line the pockets of that fat-tongued Mockney under any circumstances!

Wow! Didn't realise Jamie's Italians attracted such hatred. Maybe it depends on your local restaurant? Every time I've visited the staff couldn't have been more helpful and the food was lovely.

The one in Birmingham is terrible. Poor quality food, cramped seating and strange portions (had a massive mound of linguine and about 2 prawns and a tablespoon of sauce). Think it does vary from location to location as the Oxford one I went to was pleasant.

Been to the angel one numerous times. Every single time the food tasted too salty. It was tasty but just way too salty. It was also overpriced but at £5 this is a good deal, so I'll check it out tomorrow!

Too salty? I wonder which bodily fluids the kitchen staff added to that?

Didn't realise that the chain had such a hit-and-miss reputation.
The Manchester one is decent enough. The building it's in is beautiful.

Surrey. it's a posh area so fancy restaurants are plentiful. But they have to perform because there is SO much competition

Oh wowzer, thanks op. 3 of us just had the most amazing meal. Gorgeous surroundings in lovely city centre ( newcastle) They helpfully divided the very tasty appetiser into 3 for us, 3x spaghetti carbonara, 2 drinks, jug of water. Waitress offered us the £10 off a £30 spend, so we had 2 desserts too! £20.10 ( less 5%, paid by gift card) for 3 of us for ( nearly) 3 courses. Absolutely brilliant. We then had a stroll to Waitrose for a latte. Free as we bought a banana. Another of your top tips! Then to the fabulous riverside Pitcher and Piano for free drinks! Nice glamorous day out for us!
