Living in the same universe as The Walking Dead, Fear the Walking Dead is a gritty drama that explores the onset of the undead apocalypse.
Set in a city where people come to bury their pasts, a mysterious outbreak threatens to disrupt what little stability schoolteachers Madison Clark and Travis Manawa have managed to assemble for their family. The pressure of blending their two families is put aside as their necessary survival takes hold, and they must either reinvent themselves or embrace their darker histories.

Looking forward to it, it has it's problems, but it's still one of the better TV series currently showing.

I'm surprised TWD has not done a good flashback episode to show the fall of a major city, I see why at the start as a new show it was easier/cheaper to set it after the major events with Rick waking up, but now they must have a much larger budget and are confident on being commissioned again, a good flashback episode will fill in allot of the gaps, would also bring allot more action/variety in for an episode or 2, as the recent series was more of the same for allot of it with the saviours etc.

I liked this. I suppose i was keen on more zombie action, maybe if i was jsut looking for good quality tv it might have been different. But it's a more bright and vibrant land then the walking dead. It explores more locations, while the walking dead feels like it's in a forest majority of the time.

I enjoyed it, but they should have spent more time on the outbreak itself, that's the more interesting part of the story, TWD missed this on purpose with Rick waking up in hospital, so I thought this series was going to fill in the gaps more, its quickly become TWD with the world pretty much overrun, just following a different set of people

Characters that you don't really care whether they get killed or not. I just hope they don't mash them up with TWD that would put me right off.

I think it comes down to budget, apocalyptic events would have required lots of extras and set up, if you had them in a refugee camp for a series it would have just been a story of two families in neighbouring tents where it would be the soldiers that would be more interesting. Even in the TWD with a bigger budget you rarely see the charactors anywhere but in woods or small ghost towns. Prime example is Z Nation.
In TWD, the soldier in the tank was supposed to have a whole flash back episode, where you would have seen what happened to his squad and the fall of Atlanta which would have filled in a lot of what has been missing in the outbreak, but again not enough budget. http://www.aintitcool.com/node/52526
Fear is ok, but don't expect the TWD, the family it is based around are not very likable, and quickly lose all morals where as the decline of society morals in TWD took much longer and should the inner turmoil it caused the characters.
