Epiphone Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar
The original idea of the Epiphone Les Paul Studio was to create a somewhat lower priced Les Paul by dispensing with some cosmetics. The result was an especially clean, handsome guitar with all the Les Paul essentials. Newly designed in 2004, the Epiphone Les Paul Studio now has a thicker body that matches its Gibson namesake, hot open-coil humbuckers, a set mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard and a mahogany body with carved top.
Epiphone's long and rich history with legendary guitarist and innovator Les Paul dates back to the early 1940's when Les, working late at night at the Epiphone factory on 14th St. in New York City, created the world's first solid body electric guitar, better known as "The Log." Over the years, Les continued to work closely with Epiphone luthiers reviewing new product ideas and offering suggestions. It was also Les' timely call to Gibson in the late '50s that saved the company for future generations when he encouraged friend and innovator Ted McCarty to rescue and Epiphone and bring the company into the Gibson family of instruments. “Epiphone always made a good guitar,” Les liked to say fondly.
This or the Epiphone AfD Slash Les Paul? It's around £150 just now, has the cool built in tuner.

These are good guitars, and this is an excellent price. Looked at them a while back and was going to pick up one around this price from Amazon warehouse...this is new so a cracking deal.

One big difference is that the Special has a bolt-on neck and this is glued-in. Also the Special shares volume and tone between both pickups, whereas this has them for each.

What is the difference between this and the Epiphone Les Paul Special II which retails for around £100?
