Buying this was so confusing because there are 5 versions of Dyson V6: Absolute (pink), Clean (red), Fluffy (blue), Animal (purple) and Standard (White).
The difference among the Dyson v6 versions:
Standard - has a 20w motorhead attachment, this is the weakest of the series and a crevice tool
Animal - same motorhead attachment as the standard. In addition it has a mini motorhead for pets
Fluffy - has all the above and one additional soft brush attachment specifically designed for bare / hardwood floors
Clean - has all the above but a more powerful 35w direct-drive cleaner head - which replaces the standard 20w motorhead.
Absolute - has the mini pet tool as above, a more powerful 50w direct-drive than the Cleaner, and oddly, a very plain / simple attachment with silicon wipes for hardwood floors instead of soft brush attachment. In addition it has a Hepa filter at the motor exhaust - this also makes it a little heavier. All this will make the battery work a lot harder than the lower end versions.

Cheers  Heated.
Purchased the v6 during black Friday for £169.
V6 animal at £189 is a bargain.

Thanks, a very useful guide. Can you advise on the improved specs of the V8?

The animal motorhead is different - it's wider.

Thanks. But having spoken to dyson yesterdaythey told me that the main difference is the usage time of product.

Also, I think some of the attachments don't fit the V8, if you needed to buy any separate. Only found this out as I bought a separate pack and there were several reviews of people with a V8 that had returned them.

I got the Total Clean on the Dyson deal a few weeks ago and totally recommend it. Did the whole house on one charge including the stairs.
It's super convenient to use, the tools are excellent and the dock is great. It's replacing my old upright DC25 which I was sceptical about at first but after using it for a few weeks I'm convinced.

does the charge last if you don't use it? or do you have to leave it charging so it doesn't drain?
As i don't like leaving appliances plugged in

When it's in the dock it stops charging it (the blue light goes out) once it's fully charged

I bought this from John Lewis who pricematched Argos at £199.
I was sceptical how much better it could be than any other brand...... and I was wrong.
This thing is amazing. Need to use it regularly though, as if you're lazy like me and do't hoover up for a fortnight, you'll have to do it in two instalments! haha
Amazing product, looks cool too.

I've just replaced a DC44 with a V6 Total Clean (fluffy head, direct drive, mini motorised).
If you have hard floors make sure you go for a model that has the fluffy attachment. While the motorised cleaner head can go between carpet and hard floor it tends to push large particles around on hard floors.
