Mega City One is a vast, violent metropolis where felons rule the streets. The only law lies with cops called "judges," who act as judge, jury and executioner, and Dredd (Karl Urban) is one of the city's most feared. One day, Dredd is partnered with Cassandra (Olivia Thirlby), a rookie with powerful psychic abilities. A report of a terrible crime sends Dredd and Cassandra to a dangerous area controlled by Ma-Ma (Lena Headey), a drug lord who will stop at nothing to protect her empire.

Very good price for an import that may never release in the UK as Lionsgate does not hold the rights over here.

I still cant get my head round why people would pay 18 odd quid to watch a film in better quality than pretty much perfect already on blu ray for only a few quid.
Will 4k owners that say this version is amazing decide the picture is suddenly terrible when 8k films arrive?
Hmmm, I wonder if the Blu Ray that's included will have the 2D and 3D versions like the previous UK / US Blu Rays.

I would say no to be safe with it not being mentioned on the cover.

They only authored the hybrid Blu-rays, so they'd have to re-author an entirely new disc for a 2D only release. For those that don't have UHD BD players a new master of the 2D would be an incentive, as the original UK BD had issues.

Odd. Making it into 4K (Great movie by the way. McCoy is great as Dredd) so if theres an interest to do that, why are they saying a sequel will never be made ?

Home movie sales were amazing when there was a push to get them to make a sequel.

Normal Dredd blu-ray was region A locked, does anyone know if the 4K UHD version is also region locked?

UHD blu-rays are region free as a general rule. However the standard blu that comes as part of the package is likely to be Region 1

Yes, but the one sold on WowHD is imported from the US

This is just down to choice ... I have a nice 4K TV and prefer to watch my films in the best possible picture and sound quality, I appreciate the extra detail I get, something as silly seeing embroidery/pattern on a costume that you have never seen before, or HDR representing colours that you just did not notice on previous viewing ... see Labyrinth as a good example of a film that I really resented buying for like the forth or fifth time, but the quality increase shocked me.

i have bought over 20 uhd films and they look no better than bluray. look nowhere near as good as 4k demos or the netflix/amazon 4k series i have streamed. these films dont come close. only one that comes close is planet earth 2. right rip off. they need to startreleasing proper 4k releases not upscaled crap.

I heard Karl was pushing for Netflix to pick up the rights and make a series. If that happened I would probably orgasm more then when Vader had his 2 pence worth at the end of Rogue One.

It's not just a general rule, there aren't any region restrictions with UHD BDs.
You have to remember that UHD is dependent on the equipment used to watch the material and the source material itself. Demos are designed to show of the advantages of the format, they're there to pop, the same for documentaries. The differences in features maybe subtle, but there are lots of very good UHD BD releases out there and the format itself is still in its infancy. Give it time.

Dunno about that, as Dredd originated FROM British comics, (Theres 25 years plus of them) NOT American - and Karl Urban who played the role in the film desperatly wants to revive the role for a sequel

It's way overpriced. How will you convince the masses to pay this for a second rate movie when it's £1.30 for dvd on Amazon. Bluray didn't catch on mainly due to availability and very high prices. It's the same story with 4k bluray

I've been looking for a reason to watch this again, now all I need is a 4k blu ray player and a 4k tv
