I was given £800 price for aurora. I am thinking to buy that model. Is anything cheaper available?

This isnt the dell outlet, this is on Dells main site. Those listed in the link are the only ones available, lots of different specs, I just put couple of highlights in the main post.

I got the dell Alienware 15 R3 with 3 year dell warranty for £1580. Shame I have the 6th gen i7. Other than that it is an awesome machine. I ran GTA 5 in 4K and it held up very well. The camera is awesome, does a great job at logging me in. Can't fault the machine.

I would just avoid Dell/Alienware like the plague. Everything is so incredibly overpriced. If you're not confident enough to build a PC yourself, have someone do it for you. You pay absolute top dollar when you get a manufacturer to build you a PC like this - and a lot of the specs will be subpar for the amount of money you actually spent.

I agree on the desktop front, i have always built my own. Regarding the laptops I think its worth it for the build quality and the onsite support. (if you need a gaming laptop that is, but then thats another discussion entirely)

I bought the Alienware 15R3 in December with the 1060 and the 256SSD. It was £1500. They are trying to say here that charging 1400 is the bargain of the century? I wouldn't buy it anyway. Within 10 days the Control board for the LED strips had failed, 2 of the cores were overheating due to the design of the laptop (Google it if you are thinking of buying one) and the bleed and ghosting on the screen was disgusting;

Strange, most of the review sites have nothing but praise for the Alienwares and rate them as one of the best gaming laptops on the market for the money.

Yes the reviews I looked at were positive. I guess unless you have an issue and Google it specifically (like the back 2 cores overheating) and get lots of hits, general reviews miss this, as the majority of reviewers are sent pristine models for reviewing.

damn that is unlucky, I hope you complained to Dell after spending £1500 with them and getting that.

Ok it doesn't work on mobile but does on comp as OP has said. The main offers which are stated are the previous generation which have been known to have over heating issues which the latest ones have been solved apparently. I guess you could get one which is fine, bit of a hit and miss kind of thing.

Are the heat issues only on the Skylake vs Kabylake processors?

No, they did actually put an awful cheap screen in to keep the costs down, most of the reviews i have read on the inspirons all say the screen is horrible.
