I haven't noticed that, but the sound from the speakers is far from good - absolutely no base.
Mine has about 3 or 4 very fine scratches on the lid, I only noticed on the 2nd day in the bright sunlight.
The screen is dark and only possible to see anything if you're right in front of it. For this money I will keep it, but anything more and I would be returning it. Maybe that's why there are so many returns and outlet is full of them.

Anyone else who has received theirs have a click/pop sound from the left speaker just before a sound plays?

Was just told estimated delivery was just that and that there's been a delay. Pretty hopeless when it comes to explaining why though. It has been shipped this afternoon but no idea when it will arrive.

You're welcome. Oh btw when I said the keyboard was matte grey I meant a matte aluminium metal. At least I think it was metal.

I don't see the problem getting a replacement, even if it happens again, it's only costing them money at the end of the day.

The keyboard was matte grey and the buttons were black. It's was also larger than I expected. It was a very good laptop for the price, good spec IF it had actually worked! I've decided not to get a replacement as I'm worried the same thing might happen again. Perhaps it was just mine. Let me know if the one you receive is okay. Thanks

They sent me a dud one. The first time I tried to use it, the whole thing crashed!! Now each time I try to reboot it, it just hangs on a purple screen for hours and nothing actually happens! Was on the phone to the technical team for over an hour but the issue has still not been resolved. I'm disappointed. They have arranged to collect the dud laptop from me. Am put off getting another one. People must me returning them for a reason.

Sorry about that. at least they are collecting it. are you getting a refund instead of a replacement?
Could you please tell me was the keyboard black or grey? Thanks

think you are the only one with negative feedback so far, pretty sure loads have been sold across all the threads so maybe just bad luck

At place I work we had a deal with dell and with approx. 2000 office staff, I think we were quite valuable customer. We bought some fancy workstation like laptops with massive issues bluescreening several times a day on each machine. Support from dell was that awful that contract was ended and we are now getting lenovos.

I've been somewhere where we had about 400 dell desktops and several laptops - and had no issues, any minor faults were dealt with fast by dell. zero issues.
I'm on lenovo at my current job - can't comment on support contracts for business as we outsource it. But the lenovos are great machines. no major issues there either.

I've always found Dell really good from both technical support and customer service. Yes, sometimes things go wrong but they're no worse than others. And they're all offshore workers but knowledgeable, if they ask you to 'reset the machine' just tell them you've already done that and they will move on and usually replace faulty items.
Only major issue I had was with the Alienware M11x hinges that kept failing until they went a third time out of warranty but there was a recall outstanding.

Useless :-) Had one faulty unit, rejected the same day it arrived and tried to return took three months and the threat of court action before they bothered dealing with it. Then they collected free.
Support is awful from Dell as normal they are now box shifters and the tech support is inadequate, but at outlet prices and the savings most machines are a bargain.

12 Apr 17#11
There is a 14 day cooling off period (for online purchases) so you could return it within 14 days of delivery. I think you will have to pay for the return costs though. It is mentioned on the Dell Outlet website.

Yes they do, but don't forget to use the discount code in the original post, and Quidco gives you 3%. Whether or not they will with the discount as well, but it's worth trying.
