love these thin bezel dell monitors. I've got 3x the U2414H and they are perfect for Nvidia surround. great price for a 27" though. heat added

Sounds like ... AMD Eyefinity technology expands the traditional limits of desktop computing by multiplying your screen area. With multiple monitors, games become more immersive, workstations become more useful and you become more productive.

Dell monitors are good quality and come with height adjustable stands in contrast to most monitors on the market. I'm still using the same 19" monitor from >10 yrs ago but need a replacement.
You probably pay a bit more for Dell monitors but then it's probably worth it if you're going to be staring at the damn thing for the next 5 yrs.

Well there you go, don't sit too close. All kids sit too close. I suggest placing it about an arm length away. An adult's arm length.

I'm using 2 x 19" monitors for work, would this be equivalent in size to 2 x 19? would 1 x 27" be be better than 2 x 19"?
Thanks

Couldn't have said it better myself. 1080p is good if you are using it for an Xbox 360 or PS3 but for PC I could never go back down after having 1440p (aka 2K). I have been wondering whether 4K would be even better for having multiple documents/windows open at once, but as you said it takes a pretty beefy PC to drive it for other stuff (gaming etc).

1440p or go home.

That's just nonsense, 1440P is just a much nicer experience at this screen size. It's almost twice the resolution and allows much easier side by side viewing of documents.
This is a perfectly reasonable use, as you're sat back, but up close as a desktop screen it's not perfect. However it's certainly usable and definitely a good price.

I came across the low dpi criticism before buying a 27" monitor myself and can assuredly say it's really not a problem when being used in person. Honestly don't see why everyone seems to kick up a fuss over it myself.

Pixel Queens. Also found in photography forums. Mostly made up of types unable to perceive qualitative aspects yet know that 4k>1080p.
This is a perfectly decent monitor from a reliable brand. Now sold out.

Have you tried a 1440P monitor? It's just a much nicer experience above 24".
I've got a 25" 1440P and a 24" 1080Pbmonitor side by side and it's a major difference (as you'd expect, it's nearly double the pixels).
With the 25" I can comfortably work with two documents side by side.
Having said that I don't think 4K gains you anything though as you end up relying on windows scaling which isn't perfect and you need a monster system
to game at 4K.

I don't really understand this either. 27" should really be QHD (2560 x 1440), because 24" is about as big as you would want Full HD, otherwise you're paying a lot more for no real extra benefit?
The design is really nice though so I guess that might be enough for some.

Personally I don't mind the DPI of this screen. A lot of software are yet to be optimised for HiDPI and for the price this monitor is great. I would be more interested in the aspect ratio. I think 16:10 is more comfortable than 16:9 for working. This monitor seems to be the latter.

Both my kids use 27" monitors as tv's in their bedrooms for games consoles, they're ideal size, not too small, not too big, with room for a few people to sit round.

1080P and 27" - too low DPI :disappointed:

I'm hesitant to buy... Is this really a good deal for a 27" monitor. What does it have the others don't? I see it's IPS but, it's still 60hz

There are 27" monitors that have gone down to £150 on Amazon (by AOC to name one), it's up to you. Personally I have to see the monitor in person before I buy, like buying a TV

Keep in mind it's 81 ppi. Which is pretty low compared to most desk monitors.
