I agree a false economy and a waste of time. Was patchy after 4 coats on ceiling. Tried Valspar, just took one coat on all my other ceilings. You're better off painting with skimmed milk!

No longer have any faith in Crown paints . Spent £20 on a 2 litre tin of there quick drying water based gloss. Absolutely crap. Doesn't coat properly and runs all over the place .

This really is false economy. Go to a place where they sell proper TRADE Paint there is a massive difference in quality. The Trade paint will cover so much better than these retail formulated paints.
I'm in the trade and won't go anywhere near these paints

I always use Leytex paint. It is best for painting fresh plaster as it keys the plaster, allowing it to breathe at the same time. It can be used as a top coat but not recommended for areas subject to high condensation. Would never buy any Crown products as I have only been disappointed by them in the past. :man:

I second that.. Just repainted two rooms including ceiling.. First used cheap paint and had to do over two coats.. Used a trade paint and did most in one

No problems with Breath Easy, its far superior to the crown standard emulsions. Please don't confuse them as they are worlds apart
However as with anything the more you pay the better the paint and i've learnt the hard way, if you want a proper job then go for the trade paints, just finished using the Leyland hard wearing matt from Toolstation which is currently on offer and its superb, very thick and creamy that I needed to water it down quite a bit, so it actually works out quite reasonable in price for the distance it covers.

These cheap paints aren't a finish coat are they? They rub off easily as they don't have any vinyl in them. If you want you paint to last use stiff like this or contract Matt as your base coat and then a vinyl Matt which can be wiped as your top coat

Was that with their standard emulsion or this premium/low odour one? Looking on B&Q the standard one gets about 3 stars whereas this one seems to get mostly favourable reviews. Just wondering as I was about to buy some of this one!

I bought this paint. Be warned... it goes on thin and needs multiple coats to cover anything!!!

I did 3 rooms with Crown emulsion last summer....just redone them. Very thin & a nightmare to cover previous colour
