Don't pre order. Pre ordering is unnecessary in today's digital age. Pre ordering just allows developers to release unfinished games.

It's irrelevant if you save money if the game turns out to be crap (like remasters often are). You're saving money because you're gambling on whether the game will be good or not. And there's nothing to say its price won't change once it's released.

Sure this is a deals website, but underlying it is the principle of making sensible financial decisions. Pre-ordering a game that won't go OOS on release date is pointless.

You can always cancel a preorder, or return the item if it does turn out to be crap when the reviews come in. If reviews are all good, then those deals are going to vanish on release day!

No it won't run out on release date, but the price will go back up again. While digital sales are increasing, the majority of sales are still physical.

I have nothing against digital, as long as the price is right. But it's well known that purchasing a game digitally on day 1, is going to cost you full price. Physical will 99 out of 100 times have a decent discount. A lot of people are collectors of game and once completed won't play it again, so physical allows them to sell or trade in and provide a further discount on their next purchase. You can't sell or trade a digital game you own. Then we have broadband speeds, not everyone is blessed with fibre optic internet connections, still people on 1mb broadband connections, great fun downloading a 50gb game on a connection like that even if there is a preload available...

As already pointed out you clearly don't have any consoles then if you "have no disk drives in your house lol" so you actually have no idea what you're going on about. No doubt everyone in your house instead is greatly entertained by tales of you 'fighting the power' 'sticking it to the man' and generally being an 'internet sensation'

Anyway I'll let you crack on, there's a lot of physical deals going round you will need to post in and spreading your 'message'

They're preordering a game that they want on release at a cheaper price... I went through this with you in another thread. Your opinion on preordering isn't a fact and people can quite easily return games if the reviews come out showing it is broken come release day.

What did you say exactly? I have contacted Amazon many times about price matching of items and though to be fair they are usually very reasonable on most issues I contact them about, as soon as the term price match enters they conversation they become very inflexible and just state it isn't their policy to price match....

You are exactly th kind of people Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo love because you'll pay them full price for a game which is more often than not more than retail shops anyway and then once you are done it just sits there unplayed or gets deleted altogether. Meanwhile less preachy more sensible people will by a mix of physical and digital and have some resale value. Did you perchance by the PSP GO when it came out Mr 21st Century? Pre ordering is detrimental when its stuff like Fifa and CoD but the argument is still there if its a deal then its a deal. Pre-ordering titles like this show companies we are still interested in the franchise and helps them start thinking about new iterations.

The "do not pre-order" brigade are out in full force.

Also of course I didn't "by" the PSP GO. In fact I've never heard of it. You talk about combining digital and physical media like you're some kind of investment banker... It isn't investment banking, it's owning games.

£22.99 is a no brainer. The fact that anti pre-order brigade are here with their banners have clearly missed the fact this is way below RRP :laughing:

I went in earlier today to the Paisley Linwood branch and the guy said there was no mention of the promo for the store and price is £27.99. I pre-ordered it anyway and only now noticed you can do it online :neutral_face: . Will just print it off from their online page and show them it come collection day to see if they'll take £5 off.

Mine was dispatched on the 28th and it's still not been delivered. I contacted Smyths who seemed surprisingly willing to issue a refund assuming it had been lost in the post. I'm sensing foul play, especially given the demand for this game and the fact others have had a similar experience...
